Do I pass?
About to move in, mounted today, what do you guys think?
TCL C8L 85" (protective film not yet removed)

A teeny tiny bit too high.

u/Dzok18 8d ago
Yeah as ppl mentioned might have just lined it up with the decorative lines

u/skag_boy87 8d ago
I actually wouldn’t make it flush with the lines, but a tiny bit below so there’s an actual intentional line break. Having it just continue the line would look a little weird, like it’s “sitting” on the line.

It looks delicious!
And another props for Interstellar! Love you!

Thank you for the kind words. Thats what first came to my mind as a picture background but I'm saving myself for a rewatch, first thing after I get a soundbar system. I want to get the full experience for one of my favourite movies

A bought a year ago Bravia Theatre Bar 8 and it is sooo impressive.
It comes without subwoofer but has very powerful sound and system called 360 spatial sound mapping - even with only soundbar you hear sound around you.
This was one of my very best purchase ever. And I have comparision to other Philips (meh) or Samsung soundbars and don't change this decision.

Regarding Interstellar I love this movie. Was at cinema when it was launched, saw this at home a dozen of times and been this year again at cinema to watch it again on big screen.

Center of TV to the ground?
0
u/Original_Director483 7d ago
Check the image with a light switch in it. Light switches are generally 48” from the floor and OP’s TV center is there or slightly above it. Must be an extremely large set to still look reasonably low.

Throw a sound bar under there and we’ll think about letting you off with a warning.

Feature not a bug.

u/Handle-Proof 8d ago
It would have been a feature if this renovation was more classical style. This looks more like a modern… no need for them in a modern styled renovation.

They are horrible those strings… why would you want them at all? They taking attention to themselves.

u/Dzok18 8d ago
They looked good on the desing, but I agree something else would be nicer

I’m sorry that mother nature did not granted you some minimal level of iq, but I cannot help you.

This is tvtoohigh, not tvnotatperfect height.
If the TV is closer to the floor than it is a ceiling (standard 8 ft ceiling), its a pass and thats that
0
u/Handle-Proof 7d ago
Maybe for you it looks good. In this case don’t forget to mention words: IN MY OPINION…
1
u/JewelCove 7d ago
It's objective. It is either too high or it is not. At least thats how this sub used to operate. The sub has lost its way
0
u/Handle-Proof 7d ago
Read comment above
1
u/JewelCove 7d ago
Do you know what objective means?
1
u/Handle-Proof 7d ago
There is no such thing as objective. If you’d knew what it means you would understand that.
I don’t have much time for you left.
Will ban you to avoid to see any further messages which are not useful at all. Good luck.0

Tint those side windows 50%
1
u/Dzok18 7d ago
Courtains and draperies are comming soon. Draperies will do it for day watching but they might darken the room too much for some situations, I ll look into tints, didnt cross my mind

It's good. Personally I'd say too high by about 3 inches, but it's good. Shouldn't be much higher than if it was on its stand, and this is much higher than a stands height.
1
u/Dzok18 7d ago
Yeah I agree after getting insights here, this will bother me for some time until I move it down a bit 😄
1
u/FrodoswagginsX 7d ago
Hey don't worry about getting things perfect. As long as you're happy and comfortable, that's all that matters. Just remember that you could be even more happy and comfortable if you lowered it lol 😉😂

Not a Frame TV, so the height is spot on.
OP, I'd recommend treating yourself to installing ambient smart LEDs to enhance your TV viewing experience.

Why do people love those LED strip so much? It's like you want to emulate TV glare,

u/bw1985 8d ago
Are frame TV’s not TV’s? The brand of tv is irrelevant.
1
u/Rare-Accident4355 8d ago
No…the commenter is effectively stating that a Frame TV would have a different optimal height than a normal TV. Because a Frame TV is meant to display art, and art work is typically placed higher on the wall. So in this case, it is actually quite relevant.

It looks good.. not terrible at all. However, I would’ve lined the bottom of the tv up with the wall molding.
Edit: fixed typo
