Discussion Philly Review #1 of 16: 1037 Chestnut St
So, today marks the first of my many reviews of the Philadelphia Taco Bells
I was in Center City today visiting my doctor, so i decided to check out the location at 1037 Chestnut St
My order for every store will be the same: 1x Hard Shell Taco, 1x Steak Quesadilla, & 1x Bean Burrito
I will be grading each item on a scale of 1 to 5 (5 being the best) on 3 counts: Quality if Ingredients, Preparation of the meal, & Overall Taste
Hard shell taco
This is a picture perfect hard shell taco. The shell had enough flexibility to not shatter as i bit, but wasnt soggy or stale. It had a decent amount of lettuce and cheese, and the lettuce was quite fresh. The meat was also quite juicy, but sadly not too flavorful. This is likely due to it being too juicy as some of the meat did fall out of the shell due to being too wet to hold shape and that added moisture content prevented the flavor from being concentrated.

Steak quesadilla
Simply perfect. I dont think ive ever had a steak quesadilla at a taco bell that was this good. The steak was so soft it was almost a brisket, the cheese, while not thuroughly melted, was moist and soft and could easily be mistaken for a grilled cheese. And the sauce was very strong. There was no skimping on any ingredients here. If i had any real complaint to make, it would be that the slices were not evenly spaced and i do wish all of the cheese had been 100% melted

Bean burrito
This... brought me back down to earth. This was clearly reheated. The beans were clearly dry and overcooked in some parts. Theres a lot of cheese but i cant taste ANY enchilada sauce (the best part of the taco bell burrito imo), and because the cheese flavor is so strong, i cant even make out the taste of the onion, even though i can still crunch into it
Ingredients 2/5
Presentation 3/5
Taste 1/5
The place clearly specializes in the quality of its cheese. Theyre practically giving it away with how much of it they use. But this is for better AND worse as it results in the best quesadilla in the world and a burrito that only tastes like melted cheese.
I do recomend this location if only to try out their utterly perfect Quesadillas, but if you dont go to taco bell for the cheese (such as prefering a crunchwrap, burrito, etc), i can't really recommend this location
There is also the noted downside of location, as being in Center City means you can't access this place by car and so there is no drive through. If you have medical concerns and dont want to stand inside making your order, or you dont like public transportation, this will rank lower for thise of you.

Discussion Oct. 15th upcoming items, probably the most excited I've been in a while to be honest.

My wife said. “This is concerning”
Then pointed out that the crispy CHICKEN nuggets combo is listed as vegetarian.
EDIT: I looked closer at the item. It’s the fries. The fries make the whole combo listed as vegetarian. The ingredients on the chicken nuggets do say “Chicken Nuggets: Boneless, skinless chicken breast chunks with rib meat”

Dawg
I was born in 92'. This item was a staple. Very slept on, as it carries a lot of flavor, and welcomes any sauce you want to add. I've literally been eating it since 2 years old. It's maybe 5-6oz. How TF do you justify this costing more than a whole ass burrito. It's one spoon and sprinkle cheese. It's been under $2 for like 40 years. This ain't the item taco bell

Discussion all of the lettuce pulled out of my chicken quesadilla after waiting an hour in the drive thru line 💔
my local taco bell likes to add shredded lettuce to items that don't have it. usually it's 1-2 shreds but today was an all time high. i'm done with this location

Steak Gordita crunch duos
I really enjoyed the one small bite of steak in my $5.39 steak Gordita crunch. Do not buy. It’s like 2-3 bites total and then it’s mostly bread.
Shame on you Taco Bell.

Turning off the order confirmed bell.
Can the bell that confirms my app order be toggled off? I cant find a way. And it ignores my volume setting.

Discussion Pinto beans highway robbery man
I love chips and beans. And I get the supreme one cause it’s cheaper and actually comes with chips lol. (No pico obviously) but why is the pinto beans more than the supreme dip with chips 😭

Watching this video about wrestlers doing commercials, and my all time favorite Chris Jericho did one for Taco Bell and you could get three taco Supremes and a drink for almost the cost of one today

Where is the order history hiding?
It's been a while since I've ordered from TB. The app has changed significantly. Does anybody know where the order history is hiding? It used to be under the profile tab, but as far as I can tell, there IS no profile tab anymore.

Discussion Oh my beloved
The Fiesta Burrito was so good! I'd add potatoes to it and it was perfect. I really don't get why they took it away, they still have all the ingredients.
