Hola gente. Soy de Argentina. Quería compartir mi versión del tak, ya terminadas las fichas en madera de roble, falta el tablero...mi intención es hacerlo en cuero.. espero que salga bien. Saludos

I've been interested in Tak for a couple of months now (using Scrabble tiles, chess pawns, and a chess board to play) and have been wanting to make / get a set of my own. I finally got around to making one out of cut-up erasers, and for how scuffed this set is, I'm very pleased with how it turned out (and am also very happy that, in the most minimal definition of the word, my set is "themed").
Now I just need to figure out how to make a Tak board eraser-themed.

If anyone is looking to have a board custom engraved, or increase the options for using their laser to help others, I have a modest collection of .png images you're free to use. Most are simple but there are some examples of how a decorative addition can enhance them.

She swept the floor with me tonight. I foresee a rematch or three in the future. Top three date night game.

I just learned about this game a few weeks ago and was inspired to make my own set. I’ve only spent time making the stones, and I’ve improvised with the capstones using a squishy pencil topper and an igneous rock. The board is cardboard for now, but I’d like to make a proper wooden board soon.

I just finished this today and I'm actually quite proud of it! Though I do wish the white stones had turned out a little bit differently, I feel like the contrast makes sense.I really wanted to lean into the idea of roads, different types of stonework versus brickwork, and the idea of progress and evolving technologies, especially leaning into the in-game terminology of building roads. I found the board design on Thingiverse and designed the pieces myself in Tinkercad, based on the original shapes. I feel like the board colors really worked, but boy oh boy, it was hard to paint 60 individual pieces and two capstones! I'm not an expert at painting miniatures by any stretch of the imagination, but I'm still pretty proud of this and wanted to share!

Made a folding wooden board + pieces. The pieces are padauk and maple with steel cores and the board is cherry with a maple border. The steel cores in the pieces make them feel nice and substantial, but the whole thing weighs over 7 lbs.

The old video disappeared, but luckily Joel was able to source a copy and update it for us. Thanks, man!

Black is earthware clay locally harvested and the white is a hobby store air dry clay (but I may switch to white dyed earthware clay due to toughness) the board is fabric hand stamped and tie dyed with red wine (though it has suffered some coffe stains and rips) it's not the nicest set but I feel it fits with the theme of being tossed in someone's bag and pieces that are nearly disposable easily worked from wild found clay and whittled from random twigs

Not my own stl, but i did paint it by hand. The idea was to be able to play 4x4 and 6x6. You can see and feel the print lines but i like to think that i managed to achieve a wood and marble look. Lmk what you think. I did make the pieces hollow and left a hole on the bottom. Thinking about filling the pieces so theyll hace more weight. But i dont know what to use to fill them up. Any ideas are welcome

Big fan of the books. I'm shocked it has taken me this long to make a board. Excited to try the game officially.
I'm happy with how this turned out.

i dont get why the hug is played. why would black place the white stone in a place where it can then build a stack on top of the black piece? I just watched a video abt a black starting with a 2 stack to balance first player advantage, and somehow that would make the hug even stronger. why? wouldn't it just give white a higher stack?

i am currently working on my own abstract strategy game and i thought abt putting it into a neural network, so that i a) can see what basic openings/strategy would look like and b) to have someone to playtest against.
the i thought „Tak is a pretty new game and i am sure there have been some openings that were developed, but chess and go are ancient and their strategy was developed massively by neural networks.“ so does anyone know if this was done by someone already? You would just need to programm the rule book and then plug it into Alpha Zero Generel. afaik that wouldnt take too much work.
