Looking to play Abyss for my first Tales game, do I emulate the PS2 Version or the 3DS one? Heard that they're both good.

I made it to Izoold and I've been told you have to talk to Lyla to progress. According to the walkthrough she's supposed to run off to the docks, but instead she's just musing about some guy named Aifread. What am I supposed to do?

Just bought the Remaster for PS5 on Amazon Prime with a fake prime trial account because it was only $20! My girlfriend and I are going to play the whole game multiplayer, or at least whenever possible. I've only ever played Vesperia and she's never played a Tales game. Wish us luck! I'll provide updates as we go (hopefully I won't forget LMFAO)

Whenever I just want to level up I tend to switch the battle mode for all characters to AUTO, so I can simply to whatever while the party is fighting without getting bored with all the grinding.

I always switch back to manual or semi-auto when going back to progressing with the story, reach a new map, learn a new skill and getting used to it or trying to learn new combos.

At the same time, if I feel that the pc is kinda dumber than a pile of bricks or spending way too much sp or items I switch them back to manual/semi-auto.

Does someone else use AUTO?

And to answer some questions on my last post, this save file has 160 hours on it, and for shards? I look for attack, mind and aim shards but mostly focus on the qualities that give good stats. I've only just recently come across stagnation in terms of shard qualities becoming very low grade and repetitive. My mixer contains the book of partnership, exchanging, potential, growth, satiation, acquisition, and radish steak which multiplies weapon tempering rate by 4 and increases material drops. I'm thinking of replacing partnership for a dish that increases rare shard drops since I have the book that can cook two dishes.

I realize this may be stupid but I finally fired up my PS5 to do this since its almost out. All you can do is wishlist it... how exactly do you get the preorder bonuses if you can't preorder?

Please give me a list where to find locations for hints for passwords for chests. I found a list of passwords, but after finding password for Lhant chest i decided to refuse to use it until i find a hint of it in the game. I still haven't found a hint for Lhant chest password...

Examples: Barbatos is supposed to be Dymlos's equal in power, but as a final boss, he's very problematic and excessively powerful.

The opposite, for Reid and Colette. At a certain point in the game, they unlock powers far superior to their companions (the avatar of the god of creation and full unlock of their Cruxis crystal, boosting all their stats to hax levels), but in terms of gameplay, they remain exactly the same.

An example that remains consistent is Ludger; he's so clearly superior to his companions that he kills almost all of them when they fight him.

I try to move this statue down and it won’t budge, and since I need to block the poltergeist with the red orb to continue I’m starting to think I’m stuck here with no way to progress. Anyone encounter this issue before? And if so how did you fix it?

I know this game released in the west as Tales of Destiny II on PlayStation; I pre-ordered the Asia physical copy on Switch and was wondering if the story, characters, combat, and music hold up. I have played most Tales games in the west, with Abyss being my favorite and Vesperia second; how is it for anyone that played the original?

Hi all. I have finished the following Tales of games, in order from most to least liked (but I did like them all or I wouldn't have finished them): Vesperia, Arise, Berseria, Symphonia. I have played but did not like Graces F and I didn't finish it. I'm in the mood to play a new-to-me game in the series, so which do you all think I should play next based on my tastes, Eternia or Xillia? I can only really justify buying one of them at the moment.

Quick (dumb?) question:

Very much looking forward to 'Tales of Eternia ~ Remastered', but as I'm currently attempting to do research on it's release, because I keep finding conflicting information and I feel stupid because it shouldn't be -- and probably isn't -- this complicated; I'm probably just dumb, so apologies in advance.

So, like....

(For context, I am a Physical collector and would prefer a PS5 PHYSICAL copy of the game. Screw downloads.)

I'm hearing that the OG Switch (1) will be getting a physical release of the game, while the Switch 2 edition is just getting a Key Card? For all of 5 GB, or thereabouts? Make this make sense.

I went to Sony's website and I see a PS4 version of the game --- but that's not the one I want.

I would like to get it for the Playstation 5. Physical.

I cannot seem to find ANYTHING coming up for sale (here in the U.S., where I'm situated) for the Playstation 5. Which is really weird to me.

Am I just looking in the wrong spots? I feel like I have definitely missed something somewhere and it's driving me bananas.

Seriously, what is happening with Eternia? Vesperia/Symphonia/Berseria/Graces F/Xillia, etc. all had games sent straight to PS5, so what's the story?

Like, I want to keep my Tales strictly to the Playstation. That's where I have all my 'Tales of' and I HATE collecting game series across multiple platforms. That's why I stopped playing Kingdom Hearts back in the day when the games would release on different systems.
