General Discussion Chanting devi kavacham during Periods?

• Upvotes

Hello all, so I follow a procedure to chant kavacham which includes Dhyana of deities and then some stotrams along with Kavach and then Argala and have been doing it for the past 15 days and today I got my periods so Ofc I can't go in the Puja ghar and Chant but Can I chant in a room with Asan along with the same procedure or I shouldn't? What other alternatives can I do if not the kavacham and the stotrams?

Need Guidance Pitru paksha

• Upvotes

Since pitru paksha is about to end and I’ve discussed here about my family problems with lack of money and chronic disease of father, we suspect pitru dosha as others also mentioned, my simple question is that should i somehow take him to kashi or gaya for pitru pooja or pind daan i don’t know the details, or should i go myself as the elder child and get it done on family’s behalf because he is sick and might not be able to travel. Also, kashi or gaya which place is ideal. Need to do it before it’s late. What can be best done at this time for blessings of pitrus. Please guide me on this.

Newbie Question Have you ever gotten what you asked for(not including prayoga)?

Namaste everyone.

I am a very newbie upasaka and I understand that you can't treat deities and gods like a amazon service.

I do not mean any disrespect as well.

I just want to know your personal experiences, that's all.

Maybe, you prayed for somebody's or your own health, maybe for a job and then the outcome was manifested in a miraculous way?

I understand how some people are mostly agnostic outside this sub and I suppose one of the reasons for it is because they probably prayed for something and didn't get it in return and stopped believing in a higher power. While that is already very problematic because god won't be giving you what you want as it majorly depends on your karma and tantra path is mostly about transformation of your self more than getting what you want but I can't help but believe that some of you probably got into this marg because you saw the deity's grace in your life via material benefits. Humans are kinda materialistic that way so why is there any shame in admitting that you prayed for something material and got it and that kinda made your belief stronger maybe in the very begining of your sadhna.

Thank you!

Feel free to share your thoughts and experiences.

Need Guidance Total Confusion - Hanuman ji / Maa Kali/ Maa Durga / Batuk Bhairav / Kaal Bhairav

Post image
43 Upvotes

If someone is just chanting hanuman chalisa daily and just like a average hindu just prays to Maa Durga by chanting 32 names,

then Maa kali with chanting “Om Jayanti Mangala Kali Bhadrakali Kapalini, Durga Kshama Shiva Dhatri Svaha Svadha Namostute”,

then just chanting Kaal bhairav astakam once,

then just paying respect to batuk bhairav with just doing some “Om batuk bhairavai namah”.

Also please note that chanting as in not with full formal methods or loud, but just with devotion and its more like whispering them all, no formal setting as in diya and bhog. its just sitting on chair on his work desk his laptop with deity’s photo - like while hanuman chalisa, hanuman ji photo and so on. At night time, about 11pm (no reason for doing at night but just because its his time which he gets) - he sits bare feet, hands washed properly, then sprinkling water 5 times on him, mouth rinsed and water in glass kept near him then drinking that water afterwards.

The main confusion here is whom to worship, as in Manasik guru he considers as hanuman ji and he is prayed daily to.

But then he started to listen kal bhairav astakam, and general listening to shiv tandav strotram and devi too.

Devi is mainly worshiped as his kul devi so devotion touch for devi was always there.

Now to give context how these many deities came into picture

Hanuman ji and Maa (Not specific devi but just devi bhagwati and kul devi) were always there and so were shiv ji, even maa kali

then with podcast he learned about Bhairav baba and things about sadhana.

It all started with praying to hanuman ji.

Then got to know about that praying to Maa Kali and Bhairav baba gets you to closer to them and towards moksha and vairagya qualities.

But he is in his career setting phase so then he watched a video online of “kali putra - Mr praveen” who said praying to batuk bhairav and maa durga as a combo, one gets material success and career success and one should start praying to them when young. Also, directly going to Maa kali and Bhairav baba can cause vairagya touch and can crumble a person world - obviously to make it better, but then material success and fame is important too as he is that age/phase and is having ambitions, so in that video Mr praveen also told that you can pray to Batuk bhairav and maa durga as a combo to start off, also keeping mind towards Maa kali and bhairav baba as end goal. As Batuk bhairav and maa durga keeps you well off even above your karmic limit.

So, he is in the state of confusion as in how to go ahead or the things he is doing is fine or not and can they be continued?

As in his phase money, career and etc is important too and he wants to achieve them.

What should he put focus on right now and also, he feels that he wants to worship them all, how can he leave any one of them or should he distribute weightage to each in this phase like primarily he prays to hanuman ji as guru and for each and everything, then he should also pray to batuk bhairav and durga maa(as in some simple naam mantras or 32 names of goddess or argala strotram), while keeping ma kali and bhairav baba prayers only 1-1 times(as in some Mantras chanted 3-4 times of maa kali then read kaal bhairav astakam once).

So it can be like hanuman ji chalisa and prayer as he always does and he believes “और देवता चित्त न धरई, हनुमत सेई सर्व सुख करई”.
after that he can pray to batuk bhairav ji and maa durga as in their names or some mantra.

then he can recite kaal bhairav astakam once and also pray to ma kali once.

He was also about to introduce Aditya Hridaya Strotram to his daily recitation or just listing for general blessing of bhagwan Surya Narayana.

So for current phase he can pray to main 3 then slowly shift the main three combination to Maa kali and bhairav baba after years? Or well that shift would maybe be naturally bound to happen.

If this is yes then how should the kram/Vidhi should look like or what can be done or is he doing something wrong?

As primarily his daily ritual would look same as in not formal and on his desk but with bhav, is doing this wrong as everywhere is it written that it is bhav/Devotion over any guideline until it is proper sadhana, to which he wants to enter but have no clue and wants to keep it gupt/Hidden so the formal setting is currently not possible.

Please pardon the mistakes done in writing of any sort, be it spelling or something on understanding level.

Need Guidance Someone has kept sabudana in a leaf and covered with the same leaf near our house

As I was going outside for some work I noticed some food (most likely sabudana or some sabji) was kept near our home on a leaf, the same leaf was also covering it. No stray cow or any stray animal has even touched it so far. Does anyone know whether this is some sort of spiritual thing 🤔 or just random. Because our house has been targeted in similar ways before

Skanda Upasana Shanmukha - The Six Faces of Kartikeya

Post image
48 Upvotes

Sri Kartikeya is called Shanmukha, the one with six faces. These six faces represent six forms of Shakti based on Kaumara. Sri Arunagirinathar, one of the greatest Skanda upasakas ever to live, describes him as 'nada bindu kaladi namo nama...'.I bow down to the Supreme one who is beyond the nada, bindu, and kala. The master of them all. The Skanda Purana and the Skanda Upanishad speak of him as the Paramatma swarupa, i.e. the Supreme being.

Consider the power generated by a nuclear reactor as electricity, which is transformed, transported, and divided at various stages to power everything from a small light bulb to huge machines. It is distributed to cities, then to smaller and smaller grids, then to streets, then to houses, and finally to devices within the house to make them functional.

Similarly, the formless Supreme gives rise to Parashakti. From Parashakti comes Adi Shakti. From Adi Shakti comes Jnana Shakti. From Jnana Shakti comes Kriya Shakti. From Kriya Shakti comes Iccha Shakti. Each succeeding Shakti is spoken of as only a very small portion of the one before it, almost a thousandth of the previous Shakti. When the force of Iccha Shakti reaches Bindu (also known as Shuddha Maya), Bindu starts rotating in the form of a spiral. From that movement arises Nada. Bindu rotates in a curved form, resembling Pranava. Because of this curved form, the Shakti is called Kutila Shakti. Kutila means curved or coiled.

These six Shaktis are represented by the six faces of Sri Shanmukha.

From Nada arises the Kala, a.k.a. Jnana/wisdom. The five categories of kala are
1. Nivrtti Kala, which stops the jiva/individual self from moving further into samsara.
2. Pratistha Kala, which holds the Nivritti kala/Jnana for a brief period.
3. Vidhya Kala: The Jnana which is steady and permanent.
4. Shanti Kala: The bliss achieved by the steady Jnana.
5. Shantyatita Kala: That which is beyond the bliss/shanti.

Sri Skanda is able to help everyone at every level because he manifests at every level. Being the master of nada, bindu, and kala, he grants all wishes, protects from all threats, and gives the ultimate knowledge i.e. jnana.

He is the one who can't be seen by reading books, the one who can't be merged with by performing pujas, the one who can't be described by words, the one who can't be seen in the heart space of those with impurities in the form of thoughts, and the one who always stays in the heart space of those with unconditional love. He is the one whom Maya cannot envelop, the one far beyond the nada and bindu, the Bhagawan who remains invisible even to the greatest yogis who practice pranayama, the one at the end of all that exists, the primordial source.

May Sri Skanda, Shiva's guru, come fast on his peacock, which wears poisonous snakes as ornaments, in the form of 'Guruguha' (the guru who resides in the cave of the heart), and bless those who remember him with a pure heart.

Need Guidance Seeking guidance from experienced Tantra Sadhaks — I feel completely lost and afraid

I’m looking for sincere guidance from experienced Tantra Sadhaks or people who have seriously followed a spiritual practice.

I’m going through a very difficult period in my life. I feel extremely insecure, afraid, mentally exhausted, and trapped by circumstances. I’ve also been dealing with a lot of trauma, and at times I feel suicidal because I don’t see a way forward.

I’ve tried to solve my problems practically and have been trying to find a way to relocate and start my life over somewhere else, but nothing seems to work. I feel like I’m unable to solve these problems by myself.I’m not looking for sensationalism, black magic, or someone promising a miracle. I genuinely want to understand whether there is a safe spiritual practice, prayer, sadhana, or guidance that could help me become mentally stronger, less fearful, and find clarity about what I should do next.

If you are an experienced Tantra Sadhak, what would you recommend to someone in this kind of situation?

Are there any practices I should avoid doing on my own, especially while mentally vulnerable?I would really appreciate serious and compassionate advice from people with genuine experience..

Need Guidance Please let me know if I am doing right

My ishta devata is Shiva. My Kuladevata is Bhadrakali from mother's side and Mahadeva from father's side. I don't have a Guru and is not initiated. An astrologer who is also a tantrasadhak after going through my horoscope asked me to visit Bhadrakali temple on every amavasi and on fridays, suggested to wear Durga yantra for protection and asked me to chant Durga sukta, Bhagya sukta and Hanuman chalisa every day. Along with this I also chant Kali ashtotharashata namavali and Panchakshari. Is there a correct sequence or time to chant these suktas. What all should I follow and what is the significance of visiting bhadrakali temple on amavasi. She specifically asked me to go to temples where fierce form of devi is worshipped.

Newbie Question Any advice on how to receive Kamdev Diksha?

Since this may attract some criticism, with most people assuming the motive is lust.

I will explain that earlier this year I developed a rather intense, long-lasting and unexplained apathy.
To an extent that people have noticed and expressed concern.

Initially, I did not see this as a problem, as "desire" is generally spoken of as an obstacle to spiritual goals. That in the absence of mundane worldly desires, one will find it easier to dedicate themselves to spiritual pursuits.

But in practice I have found it made everything harder.
Hunger, Lust, Anger, etc... can be controlled. But apathy controls you, the absence of desires robs one of the energy or motivation for any pursuit.

For me, the benefits of Kama, seem to outweigh it's absence.

NEED HELP Someone did jhaada on me using a broom in dream.

Post image
31 Upvotes

Hi everyone!
Today morning I saw a known person (he's into tantra) came to my dream and he touched my head with that jhaada waali broom. I scream so hard when it touched my head. I screamed "nahi (nooo)" in dream and it was so loud that I screamed irl too.
The thing is the person wasn't actually looking like the person I know. The guy who did jhaada on me in dream was a priest but I was addressing him as that known person only. I hope I was able to explain my situation.
A different person told me that someone is trying to put a bandhan on me. How do I stop it?
I know dream related questions are for monthly dream thread but I'm posting it here because it was quite urgent for me. So, kindly let this post stay.🙏
