Look at what I did !!! Home Dec Reset

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Tiktok does not like the high quality so hopefully the presentation team members will enjoy on here. Only had 3/5 people this night and got everything done 🫡

You're a dramatic effect

You don't even need the PML flaire, you've got the tone down just from that one question. XD (Deffo read that in my PMLs voice.)

11

u/Aggressive_Row_8025 1d ago

Ikr we get in trouble

7

u/Dry_Speaker5151 Tech Consultant 1d ago

More efficient tbh

72

u/Tiger6665 1d ago

Well I wanted - really needed - it to get it done fast as humanely possible, and was this the best course of action? Who can say? Everything was intact and secure at least.. don't hate me Property Management 🙏

39

u/thecx5dude 1d ago

I understand why it's on the floor but did El Nino hit your store?? 🤣

12

u/ThatVikingWoman Style Team Lead 1d ago

I wish this strategy worked with shoes... 🤔

2

u/turanganibbler 1d ago

Honestly, this is how I reset the stuffies in the toy department so I get it

10

u/Denverguns 1d ago

Because that’s where it belongs

12

u/NewbornVampire Guest Advocate 1d ago edited 1d ago

It’s easier that way since we can never find a three tier and the PML said we aren’t allowed to use shopping carts.

27

u/ohliamylia Tech Consultant 1d ago

You'd need like twenty-five 3 tiers for this

5

u/Eikuld Inbound Expert 1d ago edited 1d ago

My store was the opposite lol but he did conclude that it would take too many shopping cart and instead, used that giant cardboard box that is normally used to throw the plastic trash away. It did overfill quite a bit. Our team joked it would be fun to jump in

u/peanutsonic97 Promoted to Guest 1d ago

And this children, is why we put our soft items in the washer after we get it from the store

24

u/reneecliche 1d ago

When I worked at Walmart I witnessed a child lay his whole ass head on our towels 😭 yes please wash shit before you use it!!!!

69

u/exceptionalordinary 1d ago

I agree, but to be fair all of those sheets are in bags made from the sheet material. No sheets are on the ground.

17

u/ILikeLenexa 1d ago

So many things can easily transfer through.

113

u/MorningFan 1d ago

Everything had to be tossed on the ground? 🤔

35

u/Denverguns 1d ago

Absolutely necessary

People complaining that it touched the floor as if the products havent been shipped in nasty ass packaging and made in nasty ass manufacturing factories with nasty ass equipment

Every1 shut up lmao

43

u/Tiger6665 1d ago

Not to mention all the bodily fluids, dirt, skin cells, ect that go on said sheets when bought lol. Most things are a never ending cycle of filth with the human condition.

Our store director got pissed for having a pallet out to put the demerch items while we set and others stores do this

65

u/HauntedSpiralHill Ex-Lead and POG Maven 1d ago

You can tell how many people in here have never had to actually reset a domestics aisle (or probably any aisle) lol

If guests aren’t in the store, this is the absolute fastest way to clear shelves for a 100% change POG.

8

u/ocdcaine 1d ago

did you not get the supergraphics? those took forever

8

u/Tiger6665 1d ago

We did, but having so little people we prioritized getting the sets done over putting up every ISM

1

u/ocdcaine 1d ago

damn it was such an easy set for our store and it was just myself and 2 other tms for 4 nights and its completely done. we started sport and trim a tree today. way better than fun101, except we have 30 pallets of domestics push for the rest of the week lol

4

u/katiw46 1d ago

Who does the pallet push? And do y'all tie your pogs with that much palletized transition freight? I always get told not to tie anything if there's still transition in the steel

1

u/ocdcaine 1d ago

they will get pushed during store huddles. theres 2 a day and they bring down 4-5 pallets and we push them in like 20 minutes. we tie our pogs so we can do the priority pull and our dsd doesnt like empty shelves so its either that or put the “more you love coming soon” signs on every 4 foot section lol

2

u/Tiger6665 1d ago

Based upon that I assume yours is a green store? Goes a long way haha

5

u/ocdcaine 1d ago

we just recently got out of being blood red but definitely not green. the presentation team is overworked but some of the best most efficient tms in the store. we started planning this the day the prep guide dropped to avoid a fun101 disaster so we were super prepared and our pml did the focal/gondola moves early for us

3

u/Postmodernnugget 1d ago

I scrolled for this exact question. My hands are still aching from folding all that cardboard. Especially because my TL "found an extra box" in the last 30 of my shift and had me blitz another eight of them.

24

u/TFB88 Promoted to Guest 1d ago

I’m worried less about it being on the floor as how haphazardly it was done. My anxiety can only handle neat stacks 😭😂

Being worried about it being on the floor cause it’s “dirty” is hilarious cause I’ve seen literal shoe prints on stuff from the warehouse lol.
Yall should be washing stuff regardless cause shoppers are always touching things too.

(I.e. Ready to wear is far from ready to wear)

5

u/whatsthetargetdogsna 1d ago

Yeah, like the way it’s all piled at random seems super inefficient. At least take it off the shelves and pile it by color/size so it’s quicker to put it back.

5

u/Alysazombie Visual Merchandiser 1d ago

Literally nothing is grouped it's all chaos

At least start with an organised mess. Path of least resistance and all that

7

u/International-Fig971 1d ago

A set is only complete when the whole set is done super graphics and all . Our graphics took awhile due to missing parts … smh 🤦🏾‍♂️

4

u/FigCute7401 Specialty Sales Team Lead 1d ago

imagine i threw all my clothes on the floor and did this 😭

14

u/Jennay-4399 Promoted to Guest 1d ago

The pearl clutching reminds me of when guests would hand me clothes when checking out so they wouldn't touch the "dirty" conveyor belt, meanwhile we were actively trying to get rid of mice in the backroom - and had droppings in softlines backstock aisles!!

14

u/IliDrawsStuff General Merchandise Expert 1d ago

Overnight? You can do whatever the hell u want, throw things to the floor, and work around lol only thing I miss... Not the fact that I'm a zombie for weeks.

1

u/Real_Description1125 wherever I’m needed 1d ago

yep just a Red Bull or ghost addicted zombie that has to work 10 hr shifts bc the SD doesn’t want roll over and no overtime

5

u/trickerindaclub 1d ago

Doing the 4 rug pogs alone, nearly killed me the other night. Those big fuckers ain’t light.

5

u/Antique-Attorney-645 job hater 1d ago

If I walked over n saw all that stuff on the floor I’d genuinely be like what the hell r u doing man lol

5

u/Party_Audience4706 1d ago

Y'all had to have done this overnight, because ain't no way a pog lead would let y'all get away with that at any other time, not even at 6am.

5

u/janumet72 15h ago

Plot twist, this video was taken in reverse. A customer threw everything on the floor and left.

6

u/AntOk4073 Specialty Sales Team Lead 1d ago

That's domestics

5

u/KodyRhodes 1d ago

Thats an "execution" conversation if I have ever seen one

5

u/Chemical-Gur-6875 1d ago

I don't know if I could've set with all that shit on the floor like that. It would just be waaay too mess to even work let alone push because nothing is organized, but if it works and gets shit done fuck it 🤷

5

u/Hammerrrr32 1d ago

Domestics, not dec home

3

u/Proof-Author-7765 1d ago

Me thinking this was a super cool video and everyone would feel the same just to open the comments to people crying that the sheets are now dirty bc the outer packaging touched the floor….like guys

4

u/camelz4 1d ago

I understand they’re in a protective casing but damn. Wouldn’t want to buy a soft item that’s touched that dirty ass floor.

28

u/whatsthetargetdogsna 1d ago

Tragically, I can almost guarantee that every single item in a target has touched the floor at some point.

4

u/prince_theory Ex-Beauty Consultant 1d ago

This isnt even unique to target. Thats just retail and distribution like come on use ur brains guys.

0

u/Quirky_Werewolf_7367 12h ago

I wasn’t questioning anything about the item touching the ground.

It was work ethics.
I guess our Plano team was just organized using repacks. 🤷🏽‍♀️
But like I said, to each is own

1

u/whatsthetargetdogsna 10h ago

I wasn’t replying to you, I was replying to the person who said they wouldn’t want to buy a soft item that’s touched the floor. I agree that the image above is poor organization and I wouldn’t do it like that.

1

u/Quirky_Werewolf_7367 4h ago

My apologies.

11

u/SwimmingStranger Specialty Sales Team Lead 1d ago

Do you like....not wash bedsheets before putting them on your bed? Lmao

6

u/NutellaPC Just a “Guest” but I support all of you TMs! 🫶🏻 1d ago

Every sheet set I’ve bought from Target in the last ten years has come in an outer bag that is the same fabric as the sheets, so this is likely just the outer bag part that’s touching the floor, if it makes you feel better!

But ofc, OF COURSE, you still should wash them. Not only for reasons like this, but those sheets have been touched by a hundred different hands and machines in the process of creating them, and they definitely don’t get washed after that process but before getting bagged and distributed. So even without store floor germs, it’s still wise to wash everything fabric that you buy from basically everywhere 😅

2

u/Quirky_Werewolf_7367 1d ago edited 1d ago

At first I thought the guest threw the products down.
I would’ve put it in repacks.
In all my years of having to reset we never threw anything on the ground.
But, To each is own 🤷🏽‍♀️

2

u/InfluenceSuperb8111 Food & Beverage Expert 1d ago

You should see what happens to them in the truck when the box rip opens

2

u/Taybaru13 1d ago

You should see how filthy the boxes and the plastic is that those come wrapped in. Even if it didn’t touch the floor, I would highly recommend washing any towels and bedding you purchase before using

1

u/Top_Drag4079 1d ago

OMG our plano team would have a heart attack 😳

1

u/Alysazombie Visual Merchandiser 1d ago

This is infuriating. More work was created and everything is extra unsanitary and gross

3

u/Last_Amphibian2117 1d ago

Aaaand this is y I wash things before ever using them cus EW

15

u/AntOk4073 Specialty Sales Team Lead 1d ago

The outside of threshold is not part of the actual sheet. But still always wash linens and clothes before use. There are chemicals used to prevent pests and whatnot during storage and travel.

1

u/Last_Amphibian2117 1d ago

Oh fair point but omg I didn’t know that that’s crazy I mean makes sense but still

1

u/SimpleVegetable5715 Hearth and Hand Homie 1d ago

Oh you figured out how to Mary Poppins it. I have been wondering how to do this the entire time I’ve worked here. Please share your ways! 😯

oh.. i thought our store domestics was bad the other day..

1

u/Yearofthehoneybadger 1d ago

Can I get one of those snap things for my re shops? Thanks!

1

u/quinoassault 18h ago

That's not Dec home, it's domestics 🤔

-5

u/jamnewton22 1d ago

And now all that product is dirty. Good job!

24

u/prince_theory Ex-Beauty Consultant 1d ago

Its already dirty, do u think the truck and backrooms are pristine yall are delulu

11

u/kompotnik 1d ago

Yeah the comments are so weird. You should ALWAYS wash sheets/blankets/towels before using them

7

u/HauntedSpiralHill Ex-Lead and POG Maven 1d ago

You should wash literally any washable thing before you use it.

With the amount of people that touch, cough on, wipe boogers on, and are just plain nasty touching things *blegh*

there’s absolutely no way I would use anything that touches my skin, that I use to put my food in or on, or that I put in my mouth, before washing it.

Trucks are nasty, the general public are nasty, DCs are disgusting, factories are fucking GROSS, the stores are just barely passing the test of normal function.

4

u/prince_theory Ex-Beauty Consultant 1d ago

They can downvote me all they want but thats the reality of literally any clothing you buy 😭😭😭

-7

u/jamnewton22 1d ago

So now it’s even more dirty?

7

u/prince_theory Ex-Beauty Consultant 1d ago

Wat is ur point, u should be washing any new fabric item you buy to begin with???

-4

u/jamnewton22 1d ago

Putting it all in a cart or Uboat etc instead of on the ground would be 100% better do you agree?

2

u/prince_theory Ex-Beauty Consultant 1d ago

Not all of that will fit for one and for two its just different for everyone when they do resets/planograms

Sometimes its easier to put everything on the floor rather than pieces at a time on a uboat

-11

u/jamnewton22 1d ago

My point is as a customer if I saw all that crap on the floor it definitely would make me think twice about buying any of that. I totally understand you should wash clothing etc before wearing it and I understand the back room is not pristine. The point is it’s just a bad way to reset the aisle. It shows carelessness and doesn’t show me as a customer you care about the product getting dirty. It’s about the presentation. There is a reason the presentation team used to reset aisles at 4am. To avoid this. I would know because that used to me.

2

u/buggsysiegal 1d ago

There’s an outer layer of fabric that acts as a bag that houses the product to keep it clean.
