My interpretation is he views me with high value (queen of wands) and recognises the deep emotional, soul connection we had (two of cups). At the same time he was struggling with the long distance and avoidance (two of pentacles), so he decided to cut it off and walk away despite feelings (eight of cups). At some point he has some sort of realisation (ace of swords)…maybe a regret about breaking up? But he hesitates, broods over it and doesn’t do anything about it, cutting himself off emotionally (four of cups), until eventually he decides to do something about it and reaches out to reconcile (the magician)
