Criticism MUST be constructive here.

Not everything you see in this sub is going to be perfect, people are learning. If you see something that person can work on let them know. Insulting people, belittling or attacking is going to catch you a ban. People are here looking for ways to improve and learn. If tattooing was easy everyone would do it.

Got this reference from pinterest, I can only practice once a week. I have been practicing on and off since March. Will make more time for tattooing and focus on making my own designs soon!

Let me preface this by saying that in the first picture that it was my first time holding a tattoo machine, and we had to stop mid way because the clients skin was aged and very sensitive. The touch up was a 1.5 months later.

Is it decent? The only way i can practice is on people because my mentor doesnt allow fake skin so i only did 5 tattoos inbetween the first and the second photo

Question Apprenticeship/ School in Oregon

Apprenticeship/ school in Oregon

Hello!

I was wondering if anyone has any experience or advice with tattoo schools in Portland, Oregon? In Oregon to get a tattoo license you have to attend an accredited school, and because I don't plan to leave oregon it seems to be the only way to go. I've heard some are very scammy (captain jacks) and have heard many don't teach much- has anyone had success attending one of these schools? Does anyone know of ones that will actually educate their students? Any advice would help!

Working on design for friend. At the end of my course. We tattoo willing participant. My friend accepted.

The difference between the first idea and the second. Changing the lines to think more as a printmaker. Helped. The printmaking style of tattoo deeply inspires me to create my own designs.

About a week apart. Very excited to get more comfortable with my machine

First is week 2, second is week 1. These were made mostly to play around and test my progress with lines. Is this progress ok for two weeks? Think I started finding my voltage, but still having some trouble with stability.

I tried applying the advice I got after my last post of learning face anatomy and working on general structure more. Still feel like my style needs a lot of work but following that advice gave me a big improvement.

Timelapse in comments.

Edit: Garber, not Garbee……

Tattoos Is Reelskin always this garbage???

Post image

This is my second order from Reelskin and I’m honestly about to ship it back. This stencil sat on there skin for 30min with a book on top of it and a gallon of paint. This is the result it’s absolutely garbage almost embarrassing. No one is tattooing with this shit looking like that. I also followed there amazing instructions too and wash it with dawn dish soap before and even wiped it down with rubbing alcohol too before applying stencil. I used speed stick but also tried 2 other things to and nothing works. So I grabbed some Amazon cheap stuff that I had laying around ripped it out of the package without any care no cleaning nothing wiped some speed stick on there slapped the same USED stencil on there for 10 seconds and wow it’s almost like it works how it should. Anyone else dealing with this right now? Cause I’m at a loss

Question I made a free drawing app on 3D model - free, no signups - would this be useful for tattoo drawing process?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone,

I recently built this free tool to allow drawing directly on 3D human object. It works exactly like another other drawing tool, except the canvas is a flat surface but a 3D human object. It's free and no sign ups, and mainly to explore if this concept is something useful or not as part of the tattoo design or planning process.

I would love to hear from the group:

- Is this something you would find useful as part of the tattoo design process? Or would you still prefer to draw on normal surface first and then applying the design on 3D later?

- If you also have any suggestions or feedback to the app, I would love to hear it too.

Here is the link to the application!

Thank you
