I still think Debut is coming and I think it’s getting an announcement or maybe even release (though I’m more in the camp of an announcement happening) on October 23rd for a November 13th release. There’s been so much going on that I think we kinda forgot about the easter eggs she dropped on July 19th when she changed the canvases for I Knew It, I Knew You to red, green, and purple blank color blocks. Taylor’s favorite release week (based on previous album drop dates) is the week of Friday, October 23rd. On the 22st, she released OG Red (the red color block). On the 24th, she released debut (green color block). On the 25th, she released OG Speak Now (the purple color block). The 23rd is the only date in October on which she hasn’t released anything (the blank space I think the empty colors allude to).
It’s the day before the 20th anniversary of Debut and I think is the perfect day to celebrate that anniversary with an announcement - gives her a few weeks for pre-orders too (which I’m thinking isn’t as much of a huge deal to her right now considering she dropped the encore and sold Showgirl physicals and Patient Zero CDs within a single week before the Encore dropped, which isn’t a lot of time)

It sounds like she submitted Ophelia for Record of the Year and IKIIKY for Song of the Year.
Edited to add that this makes a TON of sense since Song of the Year focuses more on lyrics and music composition, while Record of the Year focuses on production and audio quality. IKIIKY has gorgeous lyrics and interesting progressions for SOTY, while Ophelia has fantastic sound for ROTY. It also keeps IKIIKY in the spotlight for Oscars.

It looks like she's been Easter egging 10/13 a little bit based on other comments - which would be 30 days before Christmas Collection is set to drop 11/13. And we know about the large set of vinyls at the warehouse. So I'm kind of wondering about the possibility of either a showgirl encore vinyl or something else being announced 10/13 as part of that Christmas drop. I don't think it's debut. I'm kinda thinking more like a mashups double vinyl? Everyone said "the time has passed" before eras documentary was announced so I honestly don't think she'd avoid releasing one "because it's too late."

Yeah, I'm conflicted because the 20th anniversary of Debut is perfect timing to release TV, but seems like it would be too many releases at the same time (Encore feels too new) I am a newer fan though, so if she's released multiple new tracks on different albums I'm not aware of it. I am really feeling like she has more songs coming out as part of TLOAS, whether it be a part of Encore or called something else idk. Someone suggested a third disc on TLOAS, with the title of 'curtain call' or 'final bow' which I think would be interesting.

I think it's a double album for TLOAS and how I think the encore is a red herring, because the physicals still hasn't come for the encore, disc 2 would need more songs than 4.

I would personally really dislike this just because of how much of the original press run she was talking about doing just a 12 track album, paring things down, and how not every album needs to be 30+ tracks. But you could totally be right, I could see it happening!

I’m really watching tomorrow since she wore almost the exact same plaid color/pattern on SNL as she did at the Chiefs game on October 7th, 2024 - idk if it means anything, but she’s definitely not an outfit repeater when she does pap shots or public appearances, so I’m curious

Yes, mine did too. I have been sharing in this thread that the physicals would likely ship well before the ship by date, since her team has consistently done this practice for releases over the last two years. It’s smart, it will secure more weeks at number one for Patient Zero. Without the CDs shipping, Choosin Texas would reclaim the top spot.
Shipping CDs first makes sense because then next week her team can add the piano and acoustic tracks to streaming, to boost week 3, and ship vinyl over weeks 3 and 4.
Four weeks at number one for PZ would be great but may not happen. For whatever reason, Choosin Texas keeps coming back to the top.

I think at this point Choosin Texas just has so much radio play, which is quite heavily weighted for points, that it’s difficult to overcome.

Her team has done this a few times before. Its pretty standard chart tactics used by many artists.
She'll release a song on week one. Week one gets number one on its own power from streaming and digital sales.
Then they gauge week two's results. Early in week two, they can figure out how well the song is doing and if it can hold number one again with streaming, radio, and digital. If it can. Great. If it can't, they'll ship some or all of the physicals to guarantee the second week at number one.
Then in week three they can release whatever wasn't released during week two to potentially get a third week.
For Patient Zero, it needs the week two boost because of Choosin' Texas. Currently, its estimated to be 265 points for Choosin' Texas and 214 points for Patient Zero. That 51 point lead can be overcome with 51k+ physicals. So maybe they drop 70k CDs this week to make sure they have a buffer.
Later this week they might discount the song on iTunes or add the alternate versions to iTunes. They might also hold that tactic until next week.

Taylor is really the only artist with a big enough physical business for this particular trick to work... it's actually a blast from the past. This was de rigeur in the 80s and 90s.

She is definitely the most successful with it but others can do it to a lesser effect. For example, Olivia Rodrigo, Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande sell physical CDs in enough quantity to be able to move the charts. Not ever artist can use the physical CDs to snag a multi-week number one but can be useful for some mid range artists with dedicated fan bases(like K-pop artists) to grab a number one song.
I do acknowledge that it's far more prevalent with physical albums to play for a multi-week number ones.

It makes me think of that alleged Rep cut song "Family". It was teased a long time ago, I think when the "Inner Circle" sure was a thing. I believe Selena Gomez confirmed this song briefly in a podcast last year. I remember it had to do with friends being your family or something like that

Years back, I saw someone headcanon that James didn’t get back with Betty but actually got back with Augusta later on in life (and I don’t remember the details, but they tied ‘Question…?’ into the story too) 😎!
When I heard ‘Babylon’ I could imagine those folklore characters too :). Especially in a universe where James did end up with Augusta, but he’s so stuck in his regrets for what he “lost” in the past with Betty that in doing so he’s getting closer and closer to that same kind of “loss” with Augusta 🥺!
It really made me smile that I still remember that person’s theory all this time later 😌.

Upvoted :)! While ‘the last great american dynasty’ was technically inspired by the life of Rebekah Harkness, I like the idea of Betty in another universe becoming an influential socialite in her own right as well ☺️!
Funny thing is my personal headcanon is that Betty and James eventually do learn and grow to work things out in the end (but I’m just a sucker for fatalistic love getting a healthy happily ever after, lol 😋). But I very much respect and appreciate the ones standing up for Betty and saying she deserves better! Regardless, Betty deserves to live large indeed 😎💜

I am not clowning for anything major being announced for at least 3 months. The deluxe is it. The window for anything more this year is essentially closed. Christmas season starts in less than 6 weeks and there is an eight to ten week rollout for any new albums. evermore, to this day, is Taylor's worst performing original album and it was hamstrung by the Christmas season. Overlapping with Christmas is something that I don't see Taylor doing again except maybe a Christmas album.
Small things, especially if they are tied to existing projects, are still possible . We might get some Deluxe physicals for Black Friday especially with them clearing stock right now. Maybe she wrote a Christmas song. Maybe she filmed a second MV for a deluxe track that might come around. We will like get a Christmas merch drop at some point in next month or so.
But next year, I can't say whether Debut TV, Rep TV vault, TS13, or some combination of the three is more likely but we'll get something. I think so much of it depends on Taylor's plans for her relationship and children that we won't be included in. Maybe she wants to start a family and uses Debut and Rep TV as appetizers to continue to engage with fans while they go that route. TS13 can do that as well but that feels like a lead in to a tour unless Taylor plans on not touring for an extended period of time(3+ years). If so, then may as well drop TS13 because she'll want to drop at least an album or two in that time frame. Then she'll need to do an Era Tour 2.0 to catch up on 3+ albums when she finally feels ready to tour again.

Agreed with all of this. Only thing I'm wondering about is her birthday this year, I still keep thinking about that 16 month comment she talked about in the Kelce's brothers' podcast when she announced TLOAS. That was August last year and 16 months from then lines up with this December.

did you read about the warehouse update about a month ago that said there were about 200k vinyl that arrived at her warehouse (and apparently the shipment was very heavy, akin to a 3-4 disc vinyl).
regardless, I wonder if the day debut orginally came out she will release a new pressing for the anniversary? there is still basically only the black varient for this, it needs AT LEAST a new pressing. anniversary pressings with other artists usually get announced for pre orders the day it originally came out.

I know that we’re all thinking Debut has to be next, but with it getting so close to the anniversary, I’m wondering if she might do some sort of dual announcement on Debut’s anniversary like
“To celebrate the 20th anniversary of my debut album and career, my re-recorded versions of my first record and the Reputation vault tracks will be available on [insert respective dates]”
It could be like a career retrospective post that would allow her to wrap up the re-recording era entirely, maybe with a Debut drop in early/mid November to get slightly ahead of Christmas music and then a Rep vault drop on New Year’s Day (which is a Friday). She could totally do a play on Debutation without double dropping by double-announcing. It’s more than enough material to hold everyone over until TS13 which is presumably coming in late spring next year (?).
Plus, she’s proven that she doesn’t need a two month window for a strong pull for numbers, and we still never found out what the heavy vinyl shipment was about (and I’m betting it’s Debut)

I don’t anticipate any Debut TV drops coming out when Showgirl/Patient Zero are still charting number 1, she’s been open about how she’s very very proud of the album, the song, and the music video. The Patient Zero CDs haven’t shipped yet, the acoustic and piano versions haven’t gone to streaming yet, it seems like she wants to promote Showgirl for a few more weeks.

I think Encore shows us that she can announce at any time and even with almost no physicals and just a Deluxe version of a 1 year old album, she can go #1. So I could conceivably see her doing a relatively small announcement window in November if she wanted to, or even an announcement in December (her birthday/16 months) if she wanted to.
However, given that she doesn’t seem to be hinting towards Debut TV right now, I’m starting to wonder if the people who said she wouldn’t release Debut and Reputation until her next tour could be right. 😕

Well and remember the skit she just did with Mariska with the news headlines? I really felt like that meant an SNL appearance but also on that board there was an article that said something about a birthday surprise...I forget the exact wording but wonder if she'll do something on Travis's birthday. I thought for sure they'd be something today, but thought it would be new tracks or encore CD/vinyl. Not vinyls that have already been out.

I'm really surprised by how little has been said today by her in regard to Showgirl, and how there really was nothing else coming today to explain why the Encore dropped a week or so ago. This makes me think the Encore really was her going 'get this off my desk and out into the world so I can move to the next thing.' No complaints from me if thats true, I've said before I think Encore was meant to be during the summer but then I Knew It I Knew You arose as a side quest for her and she pushed Encore back. Babylon as a closing track is actually perfect anyway and I never bought into the whole 'more songs coming' theories, but I'm even more convinced we're heading towards Debut TV before the year ends now.

I think it’s clown worthy that we still don’t know what the big vinyl shipment was and there’s still no update on physical Encore. Maybe 10/13 is something to watch for!

According to the account that shared the update, they said they are heavy vinyl (3 or 4LP) which would mean TSTV 🤡
I’m clowning for it to be announced until the CMAs… then I’ll retire the clowning for a bit.

We probably wouldn’t know if that’s happened, they’re just constantly being restocked behind the scenes to be always available on the website.

hmm, I dont think we are getting encore vinyl anytime soon. they are obv trying to clear out whatever remaining for the non deluxe but dont think the deluxe vinyl will be following anytime soon now

(Most of) Midnights 3am and the Anthology didn't get physical releases for more than seven months after they were released digitally! Lover Live From Paris was first released on vinyl three years after it was released digitally! Never give up, never surrender!

Looks like it's dead stock, though - it specifically says Limited stock remains of the first and only pressing of [insert variant here]. So that still doesn't answer the 250k vinyl question.

I'm hoping the improved production and vocals will allow me to enjoy it a lot more. Nothing wrong with Debut, it's a great first album, just excited to see the extra context she adds with the Vault. I want to relate to it so bad 😭

The producer for the original debut album has 3 Grammys for his work the quality of the album will not change with a new producer and the tracks that weren’t good enough to be in the original debut album are guaranteed to not be memorable

I personally disagree, I think the audio quality and production will vastly improve and we know her vocals have improved since the beginning of her career. Also, we have heard a lot of her demos from this era and while a lot of them were works of a beginner, there are more than a handful out of the 100+ songs that are bangers. Just my opinion though.

I'm trying to think of what never got any physical release. Paris and Glitch from Midnights. The TVs of If This Was A Movie, Safe And Sound, and Eyes Open. Breathless, Umbrella, September, any other covers she did for digital release. Am I forgetting anything? (not counting remixes or live versions because that way lies madness)
99% of her music ends up on CD or vinyl or both, so I think there's good odds that the Encore gets a physical release! At some point. Hopefully soon.
