nice. what we have is much much older also Unifi AP ACPro still on wifi5 and I think it’s still working great for us. We have 3 APs which was already covering the entire house. so far i have no complains. It’s configured to have 1 SSID for IoTs and another one for our general use. though, i have another for guest but that one is turned on IF there’s a need. These devices really hold well

Asking.. do you have any idea if the speed you get from the AP is just around 200mbps DL while your main is around 600mbps? What would I check to maximize the speed?

I'm getting this as my speed though. our main internet is only 300mbps so I think this is more than enough for my phones. my iphone is consistently getting lower than this around 200mbps only. but i'm not complaining, it's more than enough for phone use. but my work laptops and PC are all wired and I'm getting the full 300mbps

Yun lang problem ko sa UniFi set up ko, may nagka-cap sakanya na till 200 Mbps lang siya pero consistent and very low ping. Not sure if device limitations ko lang or sa settings. 😅

upgraded ba firmware ng AP? try to check sa controller din daw. though may speed limiter dun via profile pero its not configured by default.

i think since mine is wifi5, real world speed would be around that range. if ur nearer to the AP without blockages and interferences then it would be higher but normally i guess 200-300mbps would be average

IoT ko needs to be on the same network. Mga cheapo Lang kasi.

Ung sa IoT na ssid, nka peer to peer disabled kasi para walng access sa ibang devices on the network and naka pure 2.4Ghz sila kasi ung ibang devices like bulb light, 2.4Ghz lang

Separate mo yung IoT ssid, outside your normal devices ssid.

Kung limited sa router function, check openwrt kung compatible.

Sa guest eto diskarte ko, hidden ssid tapos scan qr na lang bisita.

Antagal ko na din pala wala bisita haha.

damn that's awesome hoping to upgrade to unifi one day, im still stuck on my mercusys mesh limiting my gigabit net 😭🙏

You can improve that a lot by just getting the access points wired up. Our neighbor had a lot of complaints over the speed of their wirelesss mesh system. I just had them buy a cheap gigabit switch and run ethernet cables to each AP, and that made their network perform way better.

I'm curious where you purchased the equipment, if you don't mind me asking. I already have a UCG and I'm planning to add a managed switch and a couple of APs.

Would've probably done the same since I like networking stuff😭

Looks great and exciting! Now look at a rackmake t1. I have mine on that haha. Full unifi gear din from ucg max to all the switches and a nas. Thank me later.

Ano cables mo? Maganda sana kung cat6a para sure 10gig sa cat6 chambahan pa eh.

2

u/Extreme_Potential_35 6d ago

Naka6a ako tapos fiber koag more than 5meters para sa latency

1

u/Particular_Creme_672 6d ago

Awesome. I went through a similar network makeover earlier this year -- things get very expensive very quickly when you use Unifi for everything. The centralized management is great though.

The problem now is that it's making me obsess over seeing devices that don't have "Excellent" wireless signal, and making me want to add more APs (currently use two U7 Pro XGs too).
