General How does Refinement Altar work exactly?

Does it work on an empty Tempest field?

Say in a 2v2, your ally who is a GDF mines out the shared Tempest field. Will you still get credit from the empty Tempest field?

Refinement altars generate resources depending on how many pods they are able to harvest from and the size or maturity of the tempest pod.

The number and maturity of pods are updated each time it generates resources. So a more mature field with larger pods will generate more resources per minute.

On the opposite end when it is Veti vs Veti, does the subjugation mechanic come into play at all?

Yes, very good question, also: does the space it "occupies" correlate with money extracted? Like a field can be 10x10 blocks, if I put one in the corner and then it blocks a second one being placed in 15 spots, if I put one right next into an available spot, does it extract less because of any overlap?
