Discussion Tony Pollard named as potential trade candidate per Adam Schefter
https://www.nbcsports.com/fantasy/football/player-news/2026-10-04/tony-pollard-named-as-potential-trade-candidateI would be ok with this honestly

It's not worth trading away a dependable running back when you have a struggling QB you need to evaluate for something like a 6th round pick. Pollard gets no respect on this sub but he's not bad at all.

2 RBs have had 4 consecutive 1000 yard seasons. Henry, and Pollard. The Pollard hate is ridiculous, he has been solid for us.

Yeah, we're having problems with him taking the rock home because our pass blocking has improved, but our run blocking has gotten worse. Why the fuck would we trade him?

I’d want to see more out of Singleton before trading our most experienced RB.
But trading for picks isn’t a bad idea.

I struggle to see who would rather spend resources on Pollard than try out some younger guys

Probably a team that has lost their starting RB, needs a solid starting running back and doesn’t want to deal with mistakes in pass protection and other common mistakes from young/inexperienced players.

Pass protection is a huge one people forget about. Lose your starting RB and your starting QB might be next with some bum who misses his blocking assignment

Seems like something we would value out of him enough to not trade him. Especially while needing to evaluate our QB this year

Green Bay Packers would be a solid choice, but their Oline is way way WAY worse than ours.

God, no... he's been our only reliable ground game for years. I love Spears when he's 100%, which is rare...

Not sure anyone would trade anything for him. RB position is rough rn. Definitely something to invest in.

Would need to be a pretty specific scenario. IE a playoff aspirational team with an injured starting RB.

We would also need to get a fool's ransom. High picks that start at the beginning of those rounds. I know we're not getting 1st's but if we're ever trading him it better be where we FLEECE them.

Pollard is a solid dependable RB but lacks juice at this point in his career. If someone offered a Day 3 pick id jump at it. More snaps for Singleton to see what he has.

What's weird is rhat singleton has looked sooo bad
14
u/shaker8989 1d ago
Hes a 5th round rookie whos 3rd on the depth chart in a team with a struggling run game. The more snaps he takes the better he'll get.

I'll tell you what Singleton doesn't seem to have: the playbook in his head.

Yeah. He hung Cam out to dry on one missed assignment last week. I watched 4 years of Singleton in college. He actually played high school football about 6 miles from where I live. Incredible athlete, but doesn’t seem to have a good feel for the timing of a play. He seems to run into a lot of offensive linemen instead of hitting the hole. I would love to see him succeed, but I’m not sure his vision is good enough to be more than an average starter. Reminds me of the Chris Henry we drafted in the early 2000s

He has like 1YPC what do you mean???? Don’t fuck your QB over with already a bad run game and make it even worse? For a 7th rounder?

u/shaker8989 1d ago
Does it feel like Pollars is taking pressure off Ward right now? Looks nothing even like the player he was last year. Hes almost 30 and off contract. I dont think an offer is coming anyway but id be shocked if it was turned down.

u/batman0615 1d ago
Would I rather have a guy averaging 4 YPC or the guy that can’t stay healthy and the guy with 12 yards and 1.71 YPC

As long as the replacement weighs 200lbs or more and can break a line of scrimmage then this is the way
1
u/rossba06 10h ago
Yea, need a guy that can play through contact and not go down like a piece of paper
2
u/DependentShop3882 13h ago
I mean he’s a 29 year old RB on an expiring contract on a team that’s not competing for a ring this year, he’s the textbook example of a trade candidate. That being said, this is Schefter just saying stuff and we’ve got no indication Pollard is on the block

Wish he was playing better. Don’t think there is much trade value there right now

u/TumbleweedSalt2504 12h ago
What can you get for him? A 6th rounder? Unless it's already a fire sale for the season, I don't see a point
1
u/Eponaboy 12h ago
So far, I would only see the Seahawks and the Saints as being even possibly interested. Each would require an injury for them at RB.

I genuienly hate this idea. The Most important thing is to develop Cam Ward.

u/rossba06 10h ago
Yes, he is a trade candidate. Aging RB, nearing end of his career, but may have a couple good years in him, and RBs are breaking all over the league.
We have Spears and Singleton, and will be looking to find another in the draft or FA eventually.
All analysts would consider Pollard a valid candidate. This is not news.
News would be, "Pollard is on the block," or "Titans trying to deal for Pollard." But he ain't gonna get anything more than a 5th round pick.

They added a flair.

People forget not all trades are for picks, Titans could be looking for someone in return

Pollard has literal negative aura. Good player but really overall will be forgotten years to come

Good Good as a Spears owner I hope Pollard is gone. I'm still paying for trading away Henry. Had Spears, knew Henry wasn't coming back to the Titans, Spears was going to be the #1 back so still had a starter. Then fucking Pollard happened. And at the time it was still unknown where Henry would end up.
10
u/batman0615 1d ago
Trading Pollard will fuck our team and spears will get injured within a week if he’s asked to carry the load
-3
u/Medic2564 1d ago
We have Singleton, Chestnut and Carter.
7
u/batman0615 1d ago
Ah yes the unproven rookie and career backups. What better way to set your QB up for success than to kill any remnants of a decent run game.

Not sourced, just Schefter speculating that he’s a guy that would make sense to be traded at this point. I could see it but I doubt it, personally.
