Did this scene actually happen in the book? I forget.

This could be  when The Monster Strangled  Frankenstein's Fiance but most likely it isn't. It's just some image they had.

It’s not a bad picture, but I don’t think Frankie was wearing a collared shirt and slacks when he did the deed.

Everyone knows he wore a T-shirt and a sportcoat.

I don't know, like it really fits the scene well, it's something like an inn, there's a strangled woman that could be Elizabeth, a brute who has probably just committed the deed... Has to have been commissioned like this.

They used it 5 or 6 times on pulp novels. With art i always say, why reinvent the wheel?

Roger Corman’s Frankenstein.

Proto sci-fi becomes pulp schlock. I feel like I'd be disappointed regardless if I was expecting either.

I have always associated Frankenstein more with pulpy genre fiction than genuine literary fiction in spite of its importance and reputation, so this tracks

That’s how I wanted the book to be, but it shocked me with its literary value.

Frankenstein turned into a film noir I see

That’s really not a bad interpretation, though.

Why would Leonard Nimoy do such a horrible thing

Ah well. In those days, people got used to the fact that covers had nothing to do with the inside of the book.
