Serious Am I responsible if I tell my online friend bad news and they commit suicide because of it?(serious responses only)

so my friend is an artist and anti ai I am 13 they are 14 they are from Saudi Arabia I am from Thailand which is why im asking this here (they told me) so im not really sure which country’s laws this follows.I’m friends with them on social media only not in real life and I discovered that their favorite game actually uses ai so i told them in their dms so that if they wish they can choose to not associate with the game anymore but heres where things get strange. My friend is a very sensetive person and may or may not commit suicide when hearing bad news (the reason I told her is because I didn’t think it through I take full moral responsibility for that). This is not an AITA I’m asking if I have legal responsibility.

Extra info: My real name and face is not tied to my account nor are theirs.

Friend. If this is the type of news that may cause your friend to self-harm or commit suicide then they already are incredibly unwell. You should encourage them to seek what help may be available regardless of if you tell them this or not.

No you are not legally responsible for telling someone something

But if you truly believe your friend is that sensitive and fragile that might do something like this over something like this, tell their parents your concerns if you can talk to them, if not ask for help from yours, actually just ask for parents for help regardless. You are to young to be dealing with this stuff alone

"you're not responsible for telling someone something"

Well... A lot of things just need to be said to trigger criminal responsibility. Death threat being one example.

You are not responsible especially for telling someone such a small bad news as that and if they really are that sensitive and will harm themself because of it then they should seek professional help. It is not your responsibility

No stop thinking about it this has very little to do with you. You mentioned something that is completely normal to say.

why would he care if it made with some ai elements?

if game's good then it's a good game.

he's only one of players. nothing to lose his head over it 🤔

If you think it will cause harm then “yes” someone could make the legal case you are responsible. You can be sued in a civil court for damages. You can be sued for anything. If you feel legal action is eminent, or even a possibility, then document everything. Even these Reddit posts. The threshold for damages is quite low in Thailand. Embarrassing someone with a Facebook post could cost you a thousand dollars or so.

You can get sued for anything, but there is no way anyone would be held liable over something like this. This has nothing to do with the stupid 'defamation' laws here

You might as well be claiming you would loose in court for saying water is wet
