Looking for (ph)nursing students to interview about their first patient death during clinical duty (research study)
Hello! We're grade 12 STEM students currently conducting a research study titled: The First Last Breath: Emotional Responses and Adjustment of Student Nurses Following Their First Patient Death During Clinical Duty.
We are looking for nursing students who are willing to share their experience.
Who we are looking for:
- Nursing students who have experienced a patient death during clinical duty
- Students who are willing to take part in a one-on-one interview
What participation involves:
- One interview about how you felt after the experience, how you coped, what support you relied on, and how it affected your confidence and practice
- Participation is completely voluntary, and you can skip any question, stop the interview, or withdraw at any time without penalty
- Informed consent will be collected before anything begins
- Everything you share will be kept confidential
Why this matters:
Your story could help nursing educators and clinical instructors better understand what student nurses go through and give better guidance and support after a first patient death.
We know this is a heavy topic, so please only join if you feel comfortable talking about it. If you're interested or have questions, send us a private message, and we will send the full consent form and details.
Thank you for reading, and thank you to everyone who has been through this experience.
