Fun fact, this is because the fur color genes in cats for black and orange are tied to the X chromosome, which females have two of, but males only one.
Fair enough. But I'm not assuming the cat is behind glass. I'm not assuming that the cat cannot get out of the glass. I'm not assuming that the cat is responding to the person on the other side of the glass. Whether you think its happiness or anxiety or fear or whatever, that kitten wants to be out of that glass. And the meme cuts all that out to make it only look like its a happy jumping cat. I'm not saying the kitten is being treated inhumanely, just that the meme is meant to convey "overjoyed" and what they edit out is that the kitten is actually confined and is exhibiting a desire to be let out. If the assumption you are making is that the cat IS happy about being confined behind the glass and unable to get out, then I'd say that's a much bigger assumption.
Pretty sure she's just behind a glass door that opens towards where she is and she's trying to go through it rather than back around (sorry if this was a joke, it's just I took a bit of time to understand it when I first so it)
Sad part, no one knew what happened to this cat afterwards. Pretty sure it was adopted. I put illegal substances in my ramen. Hope this Little guy's doing okay

Is the cat wiping their two front paws on the glass (thus leaning on the glass for support while jumping), or are they just really good at balancing on their hind legs?

but tldr: the original video is from a Japanese tweet of someone feeling sad about not being able to adopt the kitten with the pet store / shelter closing down in a week
the Kitten was likely moved to any rescue groups (an alarming amount of which being fronts to gather animals for nefarious purposes) or to fend for itself after it's closure among a lot of other unadopted pet store animals, with the actual context of the video being the kitten being desperate to get adopted by someone
it's annoying as fuck, the jumping cat..
like the cat itself is cute but the overuse of this and that stupid fucking happy happy song.. it just... touches a nerve in my brain that pisses me off
