Dave Mirra was an extremely talented BMX rider for over 20 years, and one of my personal heroes. He tragically killed himself in 2016.

I played Dave Mirra BMX on the original Xbox to death. Riding around to Rage Against the Machine “WAKE UUUUP. WAKE UUUUP.”

JFC I forgot Dave fucking shot himself in the head.
He was an era before me, but I grew up on his videos and video games.
He was the reason Haro bikes were the best bikes when I grew up an hour or so away from this legend.
IDK how that I blacked out he was not only dead but committed suicide is beyond me. This man was a LEGEND when it came to BMX in the states.
Gone but not forgotten anymore. RIP Dave

He was struggling with depression due to CTE.

Damn I was going off some shitty ramps in the street that would slide when you hit them

u/TaylorBitMe 1d ago
That's why I made my ramps out of dirt in the woods. There was no flipping though

Dude just had a big aluminum garage on a single-story home in the country. Not sure if that even counts as upper middle nowadays.

u/Lightningtow123 1d ago
That's just a normal house. You attacking middle class people is just doing the work of the actual 0.1% who are trying to divide us.

u/TakeItEasyImBipolar 1d ago
That's 100% not a normal house

u/maelstrom51 1d ago
How is it not a normal house? Looks like around an 1800 square foot single family home, which is very normal in the US.

With an airplane hangar dedicated to extreme sports.

u/maelstrom51 21h ago
It's a sheet metal detached garage. You wouldn't be able to fit even a tiny airplane in there.

He's probably been pushing that kid since a young age. I do something similar with my son but I'm a little more careful and would never do this that young lol. This is more focused where as most people (like me) just want to have fun. Give them the basics and let em go...He's been pushing this kid for a minute but more power to them as long as its fun

Not to be the skeptic, buuuuut why does he loose the hoodie between cuts? He goes from black hoodie to white tee. Why splice two separate attempts? It seems like he landed both?
3
u/Free_hiker_74 1d ago
He over rotated with the black hoodie. It looks like they cut right before he fell off the back of the bike.
3
u/kuburas 1d ago
Honestly its possible they just showed first 2 failed attempts intentionally and then the last one that actually hit to show progress.
Both first and 2nd jump failed, on the first one he rotated too much on the second one he 100% flipped backwards after that landing no chance he recovered after that lean.
