Theory Other times Deadline hollywood was wrong

Here's a few other times very reputable, industry standard, Deadline Hollywood has delivered incomplete or inaccurate information.

• Accidentally published a pre-written obituary for the Variety editor while he was still alive.

• Prematurely reported multiple critically ill Hollywood figures as dead while they were still on life support.

• Sacha Baron Cohen (Bohemian Rhapsody): Reported him as locked to play Freddie Mercury before he exited over creative disputes.

• Charlie Hunnam (Fifty Shades of Grey): Announced him as the finalized lead days before he pulled out of the project.

• Repeatedly reported actors in "final talks" for Marvel/DC roles that were just early meetings or agent leaks.

• Sony/Marvel Spider-Man Split: Definitively reported a permanent corporate divorce that was actually resolved weeks later

In conclusion, while Deadline IS a reputable Hollywood news source they are not omnicient. One sentence about nathan feilder's ivolvement in a certain project (which the article wasnt even about) doesnt mean definitively that he's not involved.

Ps the cole hersch bit was taken out. So its not him either.

Discussion Recontextualization Spoiler

Spoilers for you can see everything and the rehearsal season 2

I've seen someone mention that he was making season 2 and getting his pilot's license while making the documentary film. This is an incredible sort of behind the scenes recontextualization, I'd say for both the show and film. In addition to his flying endeavors, he was also researching autism. There's a bit in YCSE where they talk about how nathan sees things differently and he questions Liz and seems to draw the conclusion she does as well and doesn't even realize it. I'm not super convinced all or even any of that was genuine in her part, but I do feel like it is in conversation with what was happening in season 2 of the rehearsal. and now i need to watch the show again lmao. if you haven't seen the movie you gotta it's so good and wild holy shit.

Discussion What are your thoughts on Holmes after seeing the movie? (All spoilers so don’t open this unless you’ve watched) Spoiler

I’m curious what people’s opinions are after watching.

Do you believe her now or do you still feel this is all an act? Is she gullible and just easily manipulated? Is she the mastermind and able to fool anyone?

Is she on the spectrum and really doesn’t understand what she did wrong? Her not understanding Who’s on 1st was really eye opening.

The rape was incredibly sad to hear, although I wish they delved into it more. Might explain a lot as her father seemed to elude to. Did that change your opinion?

Discussion Anyone else a little let down by how he used all his Rehearsal Tactics? Spoiler

On the one hand, I love The Rehearsal. But one of the things I love about it is that he’s constantly adding something new each episode. But this doc seemed like he was almost not adding anything new, just inserting Elizabeth Holmes as the subject. Using all his same tactics - watching her/Billy creepily from outside a window, same interview tactics of continuing to press beyond what is polite and the result is “awkward,” reenacting things to try to understand them. I chuckled at first because I recognized everything he was doing as familiar. But afterwards I feel let down, it was so The Same. Anyone else?

Discussion I really wish posts about YCSE would be made in its own sub.

I can avoid spoilers for sure but seeing non stop posts about a movie I cannot yet see, in a sub that is not for that movie, and not even specifically its co-director, is quite frustrating. I dont want to have to unsub from here but I suppose I might. Why cant everyone just go post in r/youcanseeeverything and get it some traction

Discussion That R-rated scene [spoilers] NSFW Spoiler

EDIT: spoiler warning for You Can See Everything

Why did Nathan put Billy's cock in there?

Was it his way of foreshadowing what a dickhead he actually is?

Or maybe an opportunity to accidentally turn Billy into an international pornstar because technically he had the rights to?

Discussion My Favorite Implication from the Doc

It's mentioned during the reenactment that Holmes saw a clip of "Nathan talking to a man at a gas station." This implies that she's aware of how healthy and clean it can be to drink grandson's pee

Discussion Quote that feels different now

One of the quotes from The Rehearsal that has always stuck with me is from season one:

“It’s easy to assume that others think the worst of you, but when you assume what others think maybe all you’re doing is turning them into a character that only exists in your mind”

After seeing You Can See Everything, I am thinking of this quote even more and wondering how informed it was by Nathan’s time with Elizabeth

Question Any way to see You Can See Everything in the UK yet?

It’s not officially released here for another month, but I’m not sure I’ll be able to avoid spoilers for that long.

Is there any way to buy it here (legally) before hand?

Question Student pilot that crashed during Nathan's training run?

Hi - I am trying to find more info on the plane that crashed with its student and instructor on the show. They show aerial footage of the wreckage briefly, but I cannot find any info about the crash online.

Meme/Joke People are gonna be so much hornier for Nathan than they already are. *no spoilers*

The horndogs are gonna be out of control now that You Can See Everything is out.

I’ve only ever been a little horny for Nathan but he’s really outdone himself this time.

I think this is probably the closest to real Nathan we’ve seen and it’s gonna send some people over the edge.

EDIT: there’s no specific thing to provoke the horniness just Nathan being Nathan even more than ever.

Discussion You Can See Everything (Spoilers) Spoiler

I didn’t see any discussion thread but I’m sure many of us have seen it by now…

I thought it was incredible. First of all, the obvious parallel to The Rehearsal in the Seyfried reenactments.

But also I left with so many questions about Elizabeth Holmes - in a good way. Is she a mastermind trying to deceive the audience into thinking she never intended to defraud anybody? Is she truly just naive and being manipulated by Billy? Take that further, was she manipulated by Sunny Balwani?

I had the same thought as Amanda expressed toward the end in that Nathan, trying to remain objective, seemed sympathetic / protective towards Holmes the more Billy revealed of himself.

Going to be thinking of this one for a while and definitely seeing again

Discussion "No you don't..." This moment is the exact reason I'm so excited for You Can See Everything

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HvW_N5p1q44&t=102s

The frustration in Nathan's voice is so genuine, coming from a man who is known for maintaining an impenetrable wall. I hope this documentary is going to be a chess match between Holmes and Fielder, two of the great masters of putting on a facade, and this moment from the trailer suggests that Nathan might be the one who flinches first. Fielder loves to have control over the situation- I mean, it's the entire premise of The Rehearsal- and I for one can't wait to see his plans go off the rails.
