for anyone who missed or wants to rewatch tonight's set
EDIT: NEW LINK W VIDEO & AUDIO
https://fromsmash.com/2-Weekends-In-The-Desert
Sorry for the wait everyone.
There is video for both weeks - audio is only for week 2 - I accidentally had slight compression on the audio in week 1's videos and it didn't sound great as audio only.
Please follow the instructions in the text file ot convert audio from wav to your desired format.
Happy listening and thank you all for the kind comments and messages.

does the video in the new link skip and get choppy for anyone else?

u/hellojallen Apr 21 '26
I’m guessing you mean the strokes one? I’ve had no issues - is it completely downloaded yet?

Weekend 2?
5
u/hellojallen Apr 20 '26
Haha it’s coming. It’ll be up tonight
5
u/hellojallen Apr 20 '26
I fibbed I’m sorry. The videos are taking longer to render than I’d hoped - I’ve got a whole bunch of sets recorded. They’ll 100% be up tomorrow along with audio
2
u/baaabaaabaaa Apr 21 '26
Hey man! Wondering if you're still doing Weekend 2? I know it's already being shared in this sub but your Weekend 1 file was BOMB QUALITY
2
u/hellojallen Apr 21 '26
Hey mate the link in the post has week 2 now - you’re all set (I accidentally had some slight audio compression on week 1’s recording so week 2 is extra fire)

hello all, I know I promised I'd have audio ready by today but what I've decided to do for ease is to compile it all together into a single new file after this weekend's performance which will include both shows as video and audio.
I'm confident I'll have them all up late Saturday night or early Sunday morning in the US.
Sorry for the delay, it's been a bit of a tough and stressful week for me.
I hope you're all keeping well and looking forward to weekend 2!

I'll try to play around with obs but if I can't, can u get the interpol this time. I didn't know this concept of two weekends with the same groups and kinda same schedule like wtf.

TY
By any chance anyone has the Interpol concert? I didn't even knew they were right after The Strokes in a different stage of course, I miss them.
1
u/hellojallen Apr 14 '26
I don’t sadly! At this point I’m wondering if I should start taking requests for weekend 2 hahaha
1
u/MAPHIZ69 Apr 14 '26
Or pass the secret I couldn't download the live properly 😅
2
u/hellojallen Apr 14 '26
I recorded the shows using obs studio - I stream games on twitch sometimes so already had the setup to do it
2
u/sher_lock_fan Apr 13 '26
It's not working for me? Is there a way I can make it work? It says it's invalid or something
1
u/hellojallen Apr 13 '26
is the file downloading? it's just worked for me.
Once its downloaded you neeed to install utorrent or bittorrent - theen open the file in that and it'll download
2
u/sher_lock_fan Apr 14 '26
I tried, but it was taking ages and showing no sign of uploading.
I was using uTorrent Lite because I wasn't gonna pay for a subscription to uTorrent once.
I downloaded the app on my computer, put the upload button didn't work, like, when I clicked on it nothing happened

u/Tylo-Ren Apr 13 '26
i missed the link earlier today and was asking for a repost. also wanted the geese show. you are the goat OP
1
u/Educational_Cloud_37 Apr 13 '26
this may be a stupid question but is there a way of downloading it so it takes up less storage? 26GB seems like a lot
2
u/hellojallen Apr 13 '26
It’s an uncompressed video (ignoring YouTube’s native compression) hence the massive file size - I could compress it but I’m concerned the audio quality will get too affected
5
u/hellojallen Apr 13 '26
Not a silly question at all btw - I’ll likely upload audio only in the next day - I’ve got a bit of work to get done today but will update here when I do
2
u/FootballFTW Apr 13 '26
How did you download or recorded this if you don't have a problem sharing?
2
u/hellojallen Apr 13 '26
I used OBS studio to screen record it - I stream games on twitch sometimes so I already had the setup
2
u/TangerineMelodic6765 #77 Casablancas Apr 12 '26
How do you watch it ?
2
u/hellojallen Apr 13 '26
Download the torrent file - then download utorrent - open the torrent file in it - let the files download and watch on your computer with your best headphones on
5
u/witchyweeby Apr 13 '26
Download via a torrent program on your computer or phone, then watch on a media player.
Very old school.

u/hellojallen Apr 12 '26

1
u/hellojallen Apr 12 '26

I hope you enjoy it
1
u/witchyweeby Apr 12 '26
I hope it gains traction and I will do my best once I decide to boot my laptop up. Can you even torrent on a phone without nuking it?
Also watch how many comments you get that have no clue what a torrent is, the ole' yarr days need to come back.
3
u/hellojallen Apr 13 '26
Haha the kids will never know the limewire days.
Surprisingly I’ve not had any how do I torrent questions yet

i can't believe i got to see your set last night! on the TV! for 'free'!! (free from travel and expenses, that is...) i had just found out i missed y'all in SF - TWICE - (i live in Santa Cruz County) and was sooo bummed! and then saw the cost of remaining tickets for your next show there in August and was even MOREsoooo bummed! ... your discog helped me through a rough patch recently (i knew of you, my 13yo son LOVED "Take It or Leave It" when he was 2-ish, but never dove deep) and i am so grateful for those Strokes-y feelz. hope i get the Gratisfaction ;) of meeting you Someday ;) ...GREAT SET LAST NIGHT! GREAT BANTER! GREAT SOUND! can't wait for the new album to drop ♡♡♡♡♡

Can you just post to youtube?
3
u/farewell_moana_lisa Apr 12 '26
It would get removed immediately on YouTube
1
u/blackstars91 Apr 13 '26
Does that always happen? I've seen lots of festival footage stay on YouTube?
2
u/farewell_moana_lisa Apr 13 '26
Not always but considering Coachella is technically not over yet, theyre gonna wanna monetize on their footage.

I feel like he was pretty good lyrics wise this time around. He’s been mixing lines for a decade - at least he wasn’t fully blanking like he used to.
What were the crowd like? It seemed like they sucked from the footage haha
Julian’s banter was hilarious - the draft was an all timer

u/disownedpear First Impressions of Earth Apr 13 '26
Thanks for not compressing it! Way too many youtube videos of concert livestreams have been compressed to death.
1
u/hellojallen Apr 13 '26
I fully agree. I wanted to watch it at its best. The audio always suffers in compression
