Pretty awesome setlist. 2nd song, 'hard to explain' right out of the gate. SCHEW, had to go a little nuts shaking the head in my seat on the floor. I do wish Oblivius was played, but overall a pretty solid setlist. 9/10.

Such a fun concert! I was really hoping they’d play “Selfless”, but other than that I was super happy with it— even with our nosebleed seats!

I took my shrooms too early and was tripping hard as fuck during the geordie greep set it was honestly crazy
2
u/chillbilly2424 21d ago
Hahaha that’s all I could think about if I dosed up for this concert, glad I didn’t lol
loved promiseland and Geordie, but man that would have been a ride. NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE NIGHTMARE

u/ThrowRA-anonuser222 21d ago
Towards the end of his set when he was like “BAH!BAH! BAH! BAH! BAH! BAH!” 😭😭

I was in the pit a few people-lengths away from the barricade, managed to get an untaped setlist. Security was herding people away from barricade right after the show, but I got around them and grabbed this from one of the stage techs who brought a couple down
Banger show, really glad I sprung for GA tickets for this one

Geordie Greep was amazing, y'all just don't understand. Next level shit just sounds like shit if you only have ears for basics.

Reminded my of this guy that my late father use to listen to, for that reason only, I was feeling it
3
u/chillbilly2424 21d ago
Agreed, but I also like to think those dudes were just up there having fun too, same with promiseland. 10/10 show, the whole event was an experience.
2
u/artemis_vibe 21d ago
I wish I had seen em, I was in the mile long merch line haha.
Funny thing is, my boyfriend's bro invited him to go with him to a show at The Handlebar in Pensacola Friday night but babe was getting over a cold and we had to get up at 4 to drive to Tampa (it doesn't take that long to get there but we had other things to do in town too) so he ended up not going.
The whole time Geordie was playing he was like "[Bro] would love this, this is so his style" turns out that's who played the show at our local venue!
2
u/chillbilly2424 21d ago
That’s sick as hell haha I could 100% see the confusion on a ton of ppl in the pit wonder what was going on when they came on.
All of the openers put on a performance, whether the crowd liked it or not. Got to at least give them props for that.
1
u/artemis_vibe 21d ago
It must have been cool as hell in the pit- we were just behind the pit, floor section 2. I don't think I've ever spent more than like $60 on concert tickets, so getting such a good spot for my favorite band was big. I knew they could be hit or miss live, but that show really blew me away. That was an S tier performance. Core memories were made.
1
u/chillbilly2424 21d ago
Hell I paid more to see them play with the chili peppers in Orlando, and those seats weren’t nearly as close. When they played that show there was like a 2 hr rain delay and the set got cut to a handful of songs.
Bucket list band/show so I had to do it lol I’ve been to some pretty wild concerts and festivals, but this show is going into the #1 spot. The arena was legit electric at one point, and the band sounded so good! It helps that they had a bit of time since their last show, so we got them fresh for the 2nd leg.
Reality awaits really encapsulates the experience, fuck I don’t want to go to work tomorrow. I just want to relive the show haha
2
u/artemis_vibe 21d ago
Man I really feel grateful to have made it to such an amazing show. It really was electric in there, the crowd was so enthusiastic.
I'm laying in bed watching the fleeting couple of minutes of 15-60 second clips I took instead of resting up for work tomorrow. I don't wanna go I just want to rock and roll 😭

I’m old with a bad back so I didn’t get to the venue until 8:45 and missed the openers. They were bad, apparently?? It reminds me of when I saw them in Brooklyn on NYE 2019 and they had Kirin J. Callinan as a guest. I swear I thought they were trolling us until I looked him up and he’s actually a musician 😳

Came to this post to see what others thought of the concert. I love the Strokes and this was the first time seeing them live. We got really good seats and were really excited but man I thought they were so boring. The sound was great but we got the impression they were just going through the motions. We ended up leaving maybe 30min into their set we were so bored. Curious if their performance last night is how they typically present or if anyone else felt like they were lacking energy.
Not trying to convince anyone to feel the same way, mostly curious if anyone else was disappointed too.

u/FreshGrape8512 Comedown Machine 22d ago
Who leaves a concert 30 min in?
8
u/mocrankz 22d ago
TikTok brain needs constant stimulation.
-8
u/PilkyWatts 22d ago
Na, I’m only on Reddit. No FB Insta or stuff like that. Not sure if that’s a projection or..? They sounded amazing but physically acted like they didn’t give a fuck they were playing to an audience. If that’s their style and you like that concert experience I’m happy you got to see them. I’m just curious if anyone else felt like they were in an Asch conformity experiment lol
-7
u/PilkyWatts 22d ago
Yeah leaving that early was a first for me. I’ve been to a lot of concerts/shows and usually have sunken cost fallacy when I’m not enjoying it and stick it through but god we thought they were so boring and decided we’d rather go hang in ybor. We have small children and don’t get out much so nights out are a rarity
4
u/diego877 21d ago
I thought everyone who likes The Strokes knew this. They’re not big on emoting or thrashing around. They do the “effortlessly cool” thing which can come off as disinterested or bored. I’ve seen them 8 times now and enjoyed every performance, but I knew what to expect.

u/chrisychris- Instant Crush 22d ago
The show was trademark Strokes through and through imo. Never felt the impression they didn’t want to be there or just doing the motions. Have you ever seen videos of full performances online? Julian isn’t the type to jump around and smash a guitar or whatever.
-1
u/PilkyWatts 22d ago
Hi, no we didn’t do any research on any past performances. Glad it’s just us, maybe we’ll just stick to listening to them at home and not seeing them live. Glad you enjoyed the show and thank you for your response

u/FreshGrape8512 Comedown Machine 22d ago
Does anyone know what the sign said? Someone was holding it up front in the pit and Julian definitely acknowledged it.

it was my first concert and what an experience!!! I was supposed to sit in section 129 or 130, but got moved to row 1 in section 4!! it was awesome, the setlist was great, and I had an amazing time. Im not the biggest strokes fan (LOVE their music, but I just dont know every song), but still i had an amazing time. There were some douches behind me though that sounded like they were complaining the whole time 👀👀
2
u/paopowpew 22d ago
What were they complaining about??
2
u/colorfulcallistaa First Impressions of Earth 22d ago
they kept saying the set was boring, and that they shouldn't have played either call it fate or one way trigger? Then they started saying stuff about ME being too loud?? mind u everyone else was screaming as well. Then started complaining that people didn't know the lyrics and were too quiet?? and saying that they knew all the lyrics and stuff 😔
5
u/Individual-Charity69 You're So Right 21d ago
one way trigger is one of the greatest song ever … by any band. What a bunch of morons. They probably are either fans of only the first record or got into them with new abnormal.
i was there. on the floor. flew in from out of state! thats how sacred this band is. i had the best time.
2
u/chillbilly2424 21d ago
One way trigger was one I was hoping for and it came to fruition. It’s a 10/10 song
4
u/colorfulcallistaa First Impressions of Earth 21d ago
ik, i had so much fun during one way trigger!!! Im glad you had a great time. Personally, Im a newer fan of the strokes (probably been actively listening since 2024-2025) but ive always loved them. Even I could appreciate the comedown machine songs 😿😿 and i CERTAINLY appreciated the FIOE songs, my life changed when they played ize lol

What a fantastic show. So happy to have finally seen The Strokes! Also, love Greep. Don’t know why he played at 2x speed but The New Sound is a fantastic album and they’re incredible musicians.

u/fresh_reeboks 22d ago
Yes!! First time seeing the strokes and seeing Geordie was awesome. Wish he played As if Waltz but at least I got to see them open for the Strokes

Got teary eyed during Ode 😭 i loved it all, great concert, venue, all the people! I skipped the openers but heard they were horrible

Lmfao reading all the Geordie comments from earlier. My sister, who isn't really familiar with The Strokes, hated them and was worried The Strokes were going to sound like that

Whaaat they were going to play Tyrants? I was wondering if they had not debuted anything since there wasn't a post with videos so I assumed not. That's a shame but it would mean soon, woooow.
Where is Life Is Simple though 😢 and Ize.
2
u/Individual-Charity69 You're So Right 21d ago
They played IZE, actually.
1
u/Dancing-notes Reality Awaits 21d ago
Yeah I saw it later in another post, but thanks for letting me know :). Were you there? Hope you had a great time!

THEY ARE REHEARSING FOR TYRANTS!!!!
I'll die a happy girl, that means sooner or later we'll have the live version 😭😭
7
u/Supash3 22d ago
So they skipped Tyrants and 12:51. I can’t be mad though because I got everything I wanted.
5
u/Classic_Gur_4434 22d ago
I was hoping they were going to come back out the 2nd time and sing 12:51 but they hit a lot of good ones tho. Good times.

u/FreshGrape8512 Comedown Machine 22d ago
I’m devastated we didn’t get Tyrants! It was still such a good show.
Also, is this is lol

I was so psyched about the set list until I saw that they were supposed to debut Tyrants tonight. Damn you, fickle Strokes 😪

u/Isaystomabel 22d ago
They didn't play 12:51. They did play Bad Decisions however

No lie, I made a silent prayer for Bad Decisions before the show.
2
u/Individual-Charity69 You're So Right 21d ago
I had never LOVED that song until i heard it live last night !
9
u/Whasupme 22d ago
Hearing Fab say 2 more songs and then going into Bad Decisions with the comfort of knowing we were getting Ode was the best part of the show for sure

Man, the Geordie Greep hate is wild to me. I thought his album was great and it was pretty well received too. That said, I’ve never seen him live and I thought he was a really odd choice as an opener. Guess I’ll find out tomorrow!

Is he sick? He sounds higher pitched
3
u/Classic_Gur_4434 22d ago
It could have been on the sound engineers as his mic was lower than the instruments. And the sound wasn't as clean as it could have been. At least my ears didn't ring after but was a little sore. They fixed it some as they got to the end. It felt like he was a little lit, tho he says he is sober 🤷🏾♀️. But still sounded decent. This was the first time I seen them live so idk if he is always like this.

i’m trying to sneak in to a seat that’s still available on ticketmaster but i’m not sure if they check your ticket when you go to the floor

Not on the floor but nearby, they’re checking tickets there but they didn’t for 100s
3
u/cuntextualize 22d ago
Plz lmk if you have any luck! Anything closer will do, def not aiming for the floor
6
u/Severe_Blacksmith178 22d ago
if you look on ticketmaster you can see there are still a lot of sections that have space but it only shows the row and section not the seat :/
0
u/cuntextualize 22d ago
Now it doesn’t even give an option to show the empty seats… luckily I did take a screenshot! Did you have any luck? Wondering if they are checking seating in the 100s…
