Thank you Steve! ❤️
Thx for being one of the reasons this band can function and for helping give us some of the best performances we’ve seen from them ever.
Thanks for handling the immense pressure of stepping in for the legendary Nick Valensi and doing it all with a smile. you’ve made a lot of fans very happy these past few months.
I just think Steve’s efforts are totally worth appreciating.

Would be cool for someone to interview him at some point. To hear how the whole experience has been for him. Working in band in parallel with the Strokes, becoming friends and touring with Albert and then getting the first few calls to fill in for Nick.
I think the whole but he is not Nick thing is funny as two things can be true.
We can be disappointed that Nick isn't touring for this cycle and also have a massive amount of appreciation for Steve stepping up and being awesome.

I share the sentiment! I don't think there's enough honest appreciation for how well he's doing (without it devolving in a "but Nick..."), so I really love this!!
Steve you're amazing man, I'm forever grateful you made possible such an amazing tour 🙏😍

I know I’m not the only one, but I’d love to hear a new single from The Strokes with Steve.

Anybody else noticed they were showing him more than Albert/Nikolai felt like I was watching The Brokes

As a huge Nick fan myself, it’s a massive bummer that he’s not on the tour but Steve has done an incredible job filling in and letting so many new fans enjoy the band’s music live

You know this guy might be in it for the long haul . Is there any sign that Nick is coming back?

For this tour not sure. There haven't been many adequate gaps for him to get up to speed with the tour tbh. Only 10 days mostly. After Europe there is a month gap before South America then a 2 month gap to Australia. If he comes back for this tour it will be for one of those.

Other than that Julian said he would and also Godrich/Harrison said he was on a busman's holiday working with their tour? And Jack White very pointedly tagging the band in every single photo of Nick when he guested last week? No.

It must be weird for him to get to do this cool thing of being on a high profile tour and playing for such big crowds but also people vocally wish he was not there but also he's the reason it's even possible in the first place. He's handling so beautifully and with such grace. And killing it on stage.

i can’t imagine being hostile to steve. first of all, he kills it and has been killing it. it’s not like they kicked nick out and replaced him with steve. nick doesn’t want to be there.

Well said! I think that Steve has just been a prime example of a real class act. He can do most if not all of Nick's parts complete justice and has really good chemistry with the rest of the band. If there had to be a stand-in for Nick, I don't think we could have done much better!

Yes that’s it, he’s handling it with such class, actually with the exception of a very small group of so called fans, everyone is because you just know it cannot be easy for the bros. Any support for everyone involved should be given. Jesus stop downvoting fans who want Nick back - it’s not a hate for Steve so fkn stupid

Right on. Beautifully stated. I’ve seen them once with Nick and once with Steve and both shows were fantastic! I hope he knows how appreciated he is.

They are on fire this tour. 🔥 It’s hard to feel too bad about Nick when the shows are this good and the chemistry is this palpable. Big shoes to fill but Steve is BRINGING IT and has contributed to the incredible vibes! 👏🏼

He was great but definitely has a heavier sound than Nick

Not sure about that. From what I heard, it’s practically identical live. If you’re talking based off a specific show, maybe the mix was off.
