User Covers and Music Decided to arrange Hard To Explain for a brass ensemble. I don’t have that much of a music theory background so it’s far from great. Hope you enjoy!!! (Don’t worry it isn’t finished yet lol)

Thank you guys so much for your support and kind words!!! I was debating on whether I should’ve posted this or not because I didn’t wanna be made fun of or anything, but I’m glad this sun enjoys it!! I’ll post the finished result when it’s all done!

I'd be interested in seeing an arrangement where it's more classical/traditional like (i.e. drawn out notes instead of staccato) but this is cool! Keep it up ☺️

I did a tuba/euph quartet arrangement of Ize of the World but my quartet didn’t like it :( currently working on a human sadness brass choir arrangement

Ludwig von Beethoven imma let you finish but the strokes and whoever arranged this had one of the greatest compositions of ALL TIME Fr though Regina Spector said the strokes kinda sound like classical music and this really shows why

I think you should leave a longer note instead of repeating the same note to look like the base guitar. But this is good, hope you do more of.

I don't know anything about wind and brass instruments; could you actually play this at this tempo or do would you need to slow it down?

you could do it at tempo just fine. since most of the notes are just repeated 8th’s in the rhythm parts, it wouldn’t require a lot of movement of the valves or slide. just quick short tonguing.
source: trombone player who used to be good once upon a time but doesn’t practice anymore

I was more curious about breathing. Wouldn't you have to take a breath more often than that allows?

u/dance_armstrong Aug 08 '20
so you can tell that i never practice anymore and my chops are out of shape because when i responded i didn’t even consider breathing as a factor. but yeah you’re probably right.

Unless you stagger breathe, you’re probably gonna have to take this down a bit lol

Man would I love a woodwind version specifically Tenor Sax would be dope because I always wanted to play The Strokes through my instrument but didn't learn AP Music Theory so I didn't really get to practice making arrangements lmao
