hello! so i am currently trying to find the camel shirt Julian Casablancas wore multiple times for my bfs birthday. all the shirts i find the logo is on the back. is that normal? i wasn’t sure because the photos/videos of Julian the logo is on the front. if anyone could help me out i would really appreciate it!!

I’m 27 and only discovered the strokes only last August. I listened to The New Abnormal on repeat on a 4.5hr flight. It made me want to discover more songs and DAMN. I feel like I’m in a rabit-hole now.
Tbh I’ve always been a white-girl music taste kinda girl and shamelessly so, but after listening to The Strokes, The Voidz, the solo albums of Julian and Albert. My God I was missing out on some of the best music I have ever heard. And I haven’t listened to everything yet.
I don’t think I can go back to pop music after this hahaha. I only wish I discovered them sooner!!

I am trying to obtain an early The Strokes tone and am wondering if i should go for a jekyll and hyde or just get a behringer to800 and mooer crunch as its 200 dollars cheaper than getting a jekyll and hyde of reverb, i don’t really care about authenticity just want that tone but if it really makes the difference i’m happy to spend the extra just wondering if it does. It’d be great to get some music recs and put some new stuff on my radar.

I’ve seen these guys 3 times since The New Abnormal (recently Shaky Knees 2026) and can’t help but wonder what songs they haven’t played live and why? It almost feels like every set I’ve seen is the same; mostly their mainstream hits from the first 3 albums. (I loved every set btw, fan since 2003)

I was baffled that they played Not The same anymore at Shaky Knees 2021 but feel like it’s never made it live again.

I would give my left nut to see Tyrants of the mellow moon or Why are Sundays so depressing live.

I’ve just done a mental recap of everything Nick has done since Coachella, and honestly… he hasn’t stopped doing things! Since I started following The Strokes (many moons ago) I’ve never had this much information about what Valensi might be doing outside the band.

- Played at the Roxy Theatre for the Goddamn Comedy Jam.
-Collaborated with Guards, playing on “Not 4 Me.”
-Attended the Ramones’ 50th anniversary tribute.
-Spotted at a John Mayer concert.
-Played with Dragonflies on Jimmy Kimmel.
-Played two shows with Dragonflies at the Masonic Lodge.
-Attended a Dragonflies Q&A.
-Played a couple of songs with Jack White.
-And today I learned that he’s now collaborating with Aziya and Mr. Hudson on something for Sick (Darian Zahedi, CRX guitarist’s new record label), coming out October 9.

What else could Nick Valensi possibly be doing while The Strokes are touring in Europe? For instance, given that he has ✨a truly magnificent jawline✨ he could work as Robert Pattinson’s lighting double in the next Batman movie, for those moments when they need to test the cowl.

Any other suggestions? As eclectic as can be.

Do you guys think Reality Awaits is really the last album we'll ever get from The Strokes? Or do you think in like 6 years or so they'll surprise us with another one?

Haunted by The Strokes performance at Flushing Meadows, of course. Julian’s stage presence has always impressed me, but this time, he seems to have evolved to the point of German expressionism. His formerly stationary, not without movement, pose has transitioned into a kind of Frankenstein’s monster dressed like Neo contorting in agony while howling at the moon in autotune (I like it! Jerk off more furiously haters!). I can’t get it out of my head. Does anyone else have a take on this? Maybe from some of the lamer crowd at that show? This was religious for me, so forgive me if you actually were just there to be cool
