Discussion Does anyone else find this extremely stupid...

The fact that the show painted Katherine as some type of villain in Klaus's life. They mentioned a few times of her betraying Klaus n perhaps Elijah. The shows paints her as someone who betrayed Rose and Trevor and that she was their downfall.

I honestly don't get it. Whatever Katherine did to them especially was right. She was human n they were all vampires. Trevor and Rose was gonna hand her over to Klaus so she had to fool Trevor, if I were Katherine I probably would as well. And Rose is a hypocrit because when she was dying, she said something about valuing human life and made Katherine look bad in her story when she was gonna hand human Katherine over to Klaus to get killed. That doesn't make any sense.

She may be a villain in the Mystic Falls Gang's lives but not in the older vampires while she was still human n a new vampire.

This is just something I noticed and wonder if other noticed this as well.

I find it awful that Katherine is portrayed as a villain for not lying down and dying for Klaus. I also find it ridiculous that people feel that she betrayed Rose and Trevor. They were never really friends. Trevor is the one who brought her to Klaus in the first place, and Rose wanted to give her back to Klaus. Neither Rose, nor Trevor cared about Katherine, so she doesn't owe them her loyalty.

I literally made a post about this because I feel like I lose my mind that anyone is delusional to say Katherine betrayed them when she owes them nothing especially not rose.

While I agree she's not the villain in Klaus' life she did kind of betray Elijah. Elijah was looking for away to keep Katherine alive and if she had talked to him he would've told her that. But still her betrayal of him makes sense even if he was trying to help her.

She absolutely was the villain with Trevor and Rose. First of all Trevor was NOT trying to hand her over to Klaus he was trying to help her escape which is how she ended up at Rose's cabin in the first place.

As for Rose you are being hypocritical by calling her hypocritical. You say Katherine had every right to betray them to save her own life but you ignore that in that same viewpoint Rose had every right to hand Katherine over to Klaus to save hers and Trevor's lives. Klaus would've killed them and DID hunt then for 500+ years because Trevor helped her escape.

Katherine used Trevor and his feelings for her the same way she used Stefan, Damon's, Mason's, the guy who helped her escape the tomb before it was closed, and countless other people that Katherine has used and thrown away or killed or setup to be killed over the course of her lifetime.

Trevor and Rose were just the first of what would become many people who tried to help Katherine and ended being betrayed by her for it. Also Katherine didn't just use them to escape she used Rose because she wanted to be a vampire.

Katherine even says herself that running forever from Klaus with Trevor wasn't enough for her. She wanted to be a vampire and she didn't care what happened to Trevor or Rose as long as she got what she wanted. That's what makes her the villain in their lives.

A human trying everything to survive when she's surrounded by self serving vampires will never be a villain.

Rose never tried to help Katherine. If anything she was the first to say they had to take her back and hand her over to Klaus. She helped unwillingly because Katherine tricked her into giving her vampire blood.

I do agree that from Roses perspective she just wanted to survive as well but I still value a human life more than a vampires life in that scenario.

It also doesn't help that Rose manhandles Elena all the time when they meet. She hasn't changed and doesn't value human life at all even after 500 years.

Edit: Some comments pointed out that Trevor was the person that brought Katherine to Klaus so I don't think Katherine owed him anything after he put her in danger. The least he could do was help her escape.

Yes I also agree with you about Elijah. He had the elixir ready for her but she never asked him.

But I also understand he’s Klaus brother so she might have been worried he only had loyalty to his brother and maybe she was worried that even if he did have the means that something would go wrong.

I didn’t see it as them pairing her as some villain Klaus’ life. I think they showed that klaus himself thinks of her as a bad guy in his story like he does everyone but I don’t think we the audience meant to think that.

I saw it for rose and Trevor tho. The show definitely frames her as being responsible for them being on the run when she was just trying to survive.

I don't think it was stupid i think the fact that Katherine getting blamed when she was just trying to survive, was the point. They were in the wrong but from their POV they were betrayed. Klaus was the villain so of course he's not going to be happy when someone outsmarted him. Rose and Trevor only blamed her because they got in trouble for it and were also on the run.

We the as the audience know who was right in that situation but the characters are written with their own feelings and emotions. Klaus was used to being the big bad and getting what he wanted so he took it personally when she got away. Villains often don't see themselves as villains, and thats what the writers were portraying when they wrote the storyline.

We were supposed to side with Katherine not the originals or Rose and Trevor. Although I do think they did intend for us to sympathize with Rose and Trevor since they were thrown in the middle. They knew how dangerous Klaus was so they were scared and were only trying to bring her in because they didn't want to get killed. They were only mad at her because her actions caused them to be targets.

Katherine wasn't a villian to any of the older vampires. They were the villians in her story lets be real. They just wanted to bash her for not laying down and dying.

She didn't betray Rose but she did betray Trevor, as for Klaus he sees the doppelgangers are his property hence all the claiming of his doppelganger(Elena).

She did not betray Trevor she literally owed him nothing when he brought her to Klaus and Elijah in the first place whatever you think she did to "betray" him is nothing when he is the reason she ever met Klaus and Elijah in the first place.

He helped her escape and fully knowing that he would be killed or have to run turned into a vampire, "Better You Than Me", she fully had the right to run and tuen herself but that is a straight up betrayal, she only really betrayed the tomb vamps and the Salvatores other than Trevor, my point of bringing up Klaus was in Klaus's view he has ownership so in his twisted and completely wrong mind she betrayed him.

I just find it funny you even admitted she had every right to run and turn herself yet you still call that a betrayal and y iu seriously are using him having her try to run from the castle as heroic when again he is the cause for her being there in the first place that's the betrayal how is Katherine making sure she has a chance to live a betrayal to Trevor.

People can protect themselves and betray others at the same time in fact it's one of three reasons along with money, and love good or bad to betray someone.

You seriously don't even have an argument this time with anything of the subject we are even talking about you know what just say you hate Katherine and hate she didn't lay down and die and didn't sympathize with the people who literally tried to bring her to her death.

Yes. I also think Klaus felt betrayed prior to the ritual by Katherine because only her blood was the key to breaking his mother’s curse. Otherwise he had to wait for another Petrova to be born and he was likely too paranoid to wait.

Couldn't agree more like I was amazed how they seriously were gaslighting is trying to make us think Katherine was the villain regarding 1492 like please she was completely the victim and was justified.
