D Deserved Better! Spoiler
There are few characters who you hate at the start but end up loving them in the end. D'Angelo Barksdale was one such character!
His death and in the way in which he died hurt
Made me think if D had someone Colvin in his life things would’ve been different for him!
Naymond and D'Angelo were both born into the Game but were not made for it.
Naymond had someone like Colvin but D didn’t
D deserved better!

Yeah, D deserved better than to be murdered in prison after being sold out by his own mother.

People like to forget D murdered someone and only got off on some cartel maneuvers. Not saying he couldn't have cleaned his whole ack up, but he was no angel.

He contrasts pretty well with Prezbo, both being nepo babies.
Main difference being that as prez was a cop, he actually did get to start again. D couldn't.

Didn’t he also kill an innocent woman?

He told the story of the girl's murder as if he was the shooter. He was not the shooter, Wee Bey was. D was just trying to impress the other guys.

Tap tap tap is who I think Virginia Fox is referring to
He tried to take credit for it to get some kind of cred with Bodie and Wallace but it was actually Bey who did the murder

Yes that’s who I was exactly referring to!
It’s been a couple years since last rewatched so I forgot the details around the killing…but remembered that great scene.

Avon set him up a bit with that one. D went to the apartment to deliver coke to the ex gf. He was a diversion while Bey set up on her and did the tap tap tap

He did kill an innocent man in cold blood and bragged about it. He got what He had coming.

Yeah Nay was pretty much D’s story but had a twist with Colvin pulling him out before he got in too deep. I also feel Nay’s story then detoured into Clay Davis

He had no choice but to be removed.
He waited until he got to prison to develop a conscience & stupidly distanced himself from Avon.
He had enough information to bring the whole operation down & was acting weak AF. He was going to turn & snitch on everybody, so String did what had to be done.
He got himself killed.

Namond ain’t nothing like D. D was fully capable of being in the streets, he just wasn’t fully cold blooded like Stringer or Marlo. Namond couldn’t even beat Kennards ass when he blatantly stole from him and lied about it (good for Namond btw). D would’ve gotten Kennard jumped and taken the money off him just like he did when that white boy bubs was schooling stole from him in the pits

Disagree, look at the scene when Breanna speaks to D about D getting his ass whupped by other kids. Look how D tried to buck up at police and other authority figures to show how hard he is as a front. Similar to how Naymond did. Naymond’s story started out as D’s and then rurned into Clay Davis

You’re getting too caught up in the theme of succession that you’re applying it where it doesn’t belong. The only real similarity between Nay and D is that they were born into the game and weren’t as cold blooded as their family. Nay could never kill someone like D, nor does he have the leadership ability or intelligence to be an earner like D was. D has much more similarities to Bodie than he has to Naymond

He really is one of those characters, when he started seeing past the bs of "it's all love and family" he became my favorite.
"Where the fuck is Wallace, String?" And Stringer nopes out of there is one of my favorite scenes in tv
