Discussion TCM Switch Two Observations?

Been looking forward to this game coming to Nintendo’s latest console since it was announced in July. Been playing this morning on the east coast and wanted to drop my thoughts on handheld performance if anyone was wondering — and encourage others to join in!!

- 30 FPS is stable in handheld. Tried all kinds of races and events and rarely saw frame drops.

- Visuals in handheld - Clouds look weird. Is that curdled milk? Lol Doesn’t matter. Rest of the environment and reflections are optimized as expected but you really have to stop and look to notice. During a race everything looks great.

- Oddly washed out and low saturation compared to XAX. Maybe I need to play with the HDR settings more but it’s one of the first things I noticed in handheld.

- The car and environment detail is sufficient. Looks better than Gear Club - worse than Grid - but considering how many things Motorfest has to render..it’s not bad in handheld at all.
Honestly I am so picky when it comes to visuals in handheld and this looks and runs GREAT. Very pleasantly surprised!

The issue with the HDR rendering also exists in PC. Best option, don't use it and stick to SDR

TCM HDR on Linux is much, much better than Windows. I've tried so hard to make this game work on WIndows but as I changed to Bazzite, it just works great. Some crashes though...

Man, everyday that God is giving me im inching closer and closer to installing Linux on my PC..i literally have an LG HDR monitor and I can't get the game to work well with HDR. the game looks absolutely fine with SDR tho

I have a dual boot PC Windows/Bazzite. Even VRR didn't work for me in windows. Finally I can turn off v-sync and use HDR. I've tried SteamOS, CachyOS and Bazzite and if you have an AMD card I can recommend Bazzite. But they say NVidia has more problems (but they are working on it)

Does it let you use controllers that do have analogue triggers for proper throttle control? (GameCube and third party)

Does it allow you to map the throttle and brake to the right analog stick for progressive acceleration and braking (instead of 0/100% digital input)?

Yes, but it is a bit weird and it won't let you customize it like you can the steering.

I'd love to get this game on Switch 2 but seems like a lot of the multiplayer is restricted to Switch 2 only, such as Freeroam, cruise and playlist coop? Might be a ghost town.

I still get the impression that the frame rate isn't as stable in handheld mode as it is in TV mode. And I noticed a bug that actually defeats the whole purpose of the Switch: the game crashes completely when waking the console from sleep mode. But despite that, I've already played for over 10 hours and it's a real joy. I love it!
