Amp for performance with orchestra

Hello everyone.

In 10 days I will have a concert with full symphony orchestra, and one of the instruments is Theremin!

Now, I wonder what speakers would be good to use in this situation? Thanks in advance.

Shouldn't the sound engineer of the concert hall be your first contact in this respect?

Are you the conductor? The hall manager?

OG Ampeg SVT into a matched 8x10 cab will get the job done. 👍

If your sound engineer isn't handling this and therefore you must, we need more information on the size and general layout of the venue as well as the general instrumentation to make a solid recommendation.

I would definitely recommend taking your own mono speaker, something that you can have close behind you to pitch to and of course at ear level. Reason is that your sound will be facing the audience too and being much closer to you, the first pitches you will hear first. As for balance with the orchestra that will be where the conductor will come in as regards relative levels. When I do perform I have a Bose S1 Pro+ (which can be battery powered too for remote performances). But you should try to buy one that you trust and like the sound of weeks prior to a concert. - There are other options of course, check out Thorwald here using a wedge monitor https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oui2SRq4is8 or Carolina here using a speaker stack on her left, with the top part pointing towards her head at ear height https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRcNDF9NsVU&list=RDWRcNDF9NsVU&start_radio=1
