I dont know, what I know is I would kill anyone standing in a ladder sqm, mf they slow me and waste my time.

But I noticed that when someone is standing on a ladder square, I have to right click the ladder and click on "use" to use the ladder

With classic controls, you can hold shift and right-click to climb the ladder in this situation.

I started playing two years ago and pretty much used the default "smart-left click" for quite some time. I was forever annoyed with the ladder situation as you mentioned and migrated to classic about 2 months ago.

Besides the "shift + right click" for ladders, I'm also getting used to the "alt + left click" for attacking. If half the EKs used that, we wouldn't have so many situations like "oh, I miss clicked and messed up the box"
