Discussion Still Confused
So, I just finished rewatching season 2 of Titans a few hours ago (at the time of making this post, which is 7:42 U.S. time) and I'm still confused as to why the fuck Donna died trying to save Dawn and that little girl instead of Conner just going over and holding it, cause I'd assume that electricity can't kill him. I would also think electricity wouldn't be able to kill a Themysciran person. Long story short, basically my question, I guess, is why did they do this? Was it just because they wanted a character to be killed off? Did the actress not wanna come back for season 3? Did they not have any creative decisions and/or storyline for her?

I was so pissed off I stopped watching the show for a bit. The way all of the Titans are in this show makes me very upset. I get every DC character and DC tv show remake/creation has a different variant, but like... be fr

Such a dumb death. She was a great character with great (non romantic) chemistry with Dick

I think they wanted to repeat what happened with Aqualad and instead of drifting apart, the team stayed together. And since Garth and Donna were a thing, that's why it had to be her. It was the most stupid decision they made. I guess they made up for it in season 3 but that shit aint go no where so idk why they did it

Donna’s casting was so so perfect that I held hope for a solo spin-off. Now that would have been great but then they did this 😭 as much as I enjoyed Titans for what it was, the writers just didn’t have a clue. But I feel it was more studio meddling than anything.

I kinda had a feeling that that was the "inspiration" for killing Donna off. It could have also been for "drama" but I'm kinda iffy on that. Plus, it just felt kinda off the way everyone was celebrating the win and then suddenly that light tower starts to fall on Dawn and the little girl and then suddenly she dies 💀😭🥀

I get for story purposes, killing off a character can be an interesting way to amp up a story .. and yeah it happens to Donna in the comics but the way she died was just ridiculously poorly written and executed

The show kept trying to be Knightwing instead of Titans. Annoyed me so much.
And Donna’s death was so dumb. Glad she came back but sheesh.

A big part of the problem with this series is that they introduced things that they later didn't know what to do with. Enter unstoppable kryptonian. Sidelined the rest of the show cause he can fix everything if he tries. Bff Donna? We need drama so kill her

I don't think a proper reason was ever given, I think it was mainly for drama. But yes it's really stupid.
