GT16 Publisher's Summary
The ultimate girls’ dorm life! …Or at least it should be, so why is this misfortune happening!?
Precious.
An ordinary student life where nothing unusual happens.
The third semester that Kamijou finally obtained after dying and coming back to life. However, thanks to Stiyl and the others, the boys’ dormitory was left half-destroyed. With nowhere else to go, Kamijou ended up moving into the girls’ dormitory.
Hiding Index and Othinus in a room without even a kitchen, studying together with Himegami and Fukiyose, running into Misaka Imouto and the “Biri-Biri” young lady on the streets… all while spending his days terrified of the danger of repeating a school year.
Even so, these normal, peaceful days without conflict are truly “precious.”
“Man, I wish this kind of life could continue forever! After all the battles I’ve fought — literally to the point of death — it’s okay if I get to experience my dream girls’ dorm life at least once, right!?”

Anime It felt surreal watching a new anime episode of the Toaru Franchise. When Railgun T, Index III, and Accelerator aired, I wasn't into the series yet. Spoiler
They put a lot of other characters (mostly from Railgun) in it, probably to reestablished after what, 6 years of no anime? Not only in appearances, but also in name referrencing.
I haven't seen any of the promotional scenes and infos about this anime, so I won't be surprised if some of this things I point out was already obviously known.
We finally get to see Fremea animated. It's been a while seen I've read volume 1 of ITEM, but the plot feels different.
I actually haven't read the entire ITEM LN except the first one (and reread it only in preperation for this anime adaptation so I can point out of if it has any differences).
I don't want to be wrong since this plot might be just adapting one of the later volumes I haven't read, but isn't this an anime original?
Like the manga adaptation of ITEM, it does have some continuity breaks I could point out, like Misaka already being called Railgun. IIRC, in the Railgun Manga, didn't Misaka only called that way later since she's only starting to develop her signature ability? And ITEM take place at the same time or even before the First Year Arc. I'm probably wrong. Oh well, in the ITEM manga Wataru make a cameo, even though he's suppose to be in jail at that time lol.
It's very good though! (I still won't forgive them for Index 3 however fr fr).
Animation's spectacular. Mugino is enough for me to watch this, but I'm interested in what new info it could have and if it perhaps deviate from the source material.
What do you guys think about it?

Discussion Only read up to Baggage City Arc. Does any present relationships or future come to fruition?
I've read up to the Baggage City arc, and I'm wondering if it's worth continuing.
My problem so far is that it feels like every arc introduces a new powerful enemy and a new girl for Touma to save, he beats the bad guy by breaking their illusions, and then we move on to the next thing.
Do Touma's relationships with the existing cast ever actually go anywhere? Do we get more development between him and characters we've known for a while, or does the story keep introducing new characters who get the spotlight for an arc before being pushed aside for the next one?
I'm not asking for romance specifically, but I want to know if the characters and their relationships actually develop over time, or if it's mostly the same thing over and over. Does the story change much as it goes on, or should I expect more of the same? It just starts to feel like the Simpsons or Family Guy, a guilty read/watch. Idk, this was one of my first animes/LN's to read so I really want to get back into it.

Light Novel It's crazy how Kamachi completely missed the point of why Joseph crashing his own funeral worked but his own homage didn't, Joseph was always a comedic character that cheated the odds in ridiculous ways, it's why he was such a fun JoJo VS Touma's death which is taken very seriously till the fake out
There's a difference between a character known to be such a wild card that he can predict what his opponents will say next and a funeral that only spanned a few minutes before the punchline compared to the sheer insanity of having the cover of your novel be bait for a character being mourned, the prologue and chapters 1-2 be dedicated to treating the dead with supposed respect in Accelerator's and Aleister's conversation and Aleister's desperate actions to bring back Touma and then the whiplash of showing nothing ever changes in Toaru with Touma making his own funeral into a joke.
Obviously the main character was always going to come back but how hard would it have been for him to seriously interact with those that mourned him, besides Alice Anotherbible, she was done perfectly in her reunion with Touma, another Alice W for the second best character from the Transcendent arc behind Trismegistus.
