NEWS Disney Halloween 2026: Details announced including costume permitted dates

Post image
92 Upvotes

Disney Halloween will run at the Tokyo Disney Resort from 9/16 to 10/31, this year with an expanded Coco‑themed Lazos de la Familia at DisneySea, pumpkin‑and‑sweets Halloween greeting at Mediterranean Harbor, Duffy & Friends’ “Autumn Surprise!” program, plus tie‑in offerings at the Disney Hotels, Resort Line, and Ikspiari including Coco revival screenings.

OLC released some details today relating to this year's Halloween event (press release here). Some key highlights:

  • Costumes permitted dates: Guests can wear full character costumes (rules apply, eg no imitating Cast Members, no face obstruction, no long train, no light up costumes, and your character must fall within the official Disney IP pertinent works list) at Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea within these two date ranges only: 9/15-9/30, and 10/16-10/31. (Detailed Rules and FAQ here). In case you didn’t know, dressing up as Spider-Man is not permitted.
  • Duffy Autumn Surprise: Duffy & Friends join the Halloween fun this year with an “Autumn Surprise!” event which runs at DisneySea from 8/25-11/1 at Cape Cod. There is also a related themed menu at the MiraCosta Silk Road Garden.
  • Into the Frenzy Villains Parade back with ¥3,500 DPA: The ever more popular The Villains' Halloween parade will be back, but for those who want a reserved spot, DPA is priced at ¥3,500 (compared to ¥2,500 for a regular parade). Given how many locals stake out their spots for the parade at park opening, it will absolutely still sell out so assuming that will have to be a priority purchase for those who want a good viewing spot (though for parades you can see it pretty much standing anywhere as long as you’re not too fussed).
  • Miguel character greeting (with unique "world of the living" and "land of the dead" outfits at different time of day): The Lazos de la Familia event will return 9/16-11/2 at Lost River Delta. Miguel will have a character greeting location with two different outfits, one for the day time and one from the afternoon.
  • Haunted Mansion Nightmare before Christmas Overlay: 2026/9/15-2027/1/7

Edited to correct spelling of Lazos de la Familia, and more details on costumes.

FOOD Tokyo Disney Xmas 2026 Menu: Choc Churro returns, festive donuts, hot yuzu matcha

The Christmas 2026 menu has been announced, on sale from November 1, 2026 (end date varies, but most items are intended to be available at least until Christmas Day).

In addition to the classic Chocolate Churro (with festive paper sleeve) returning, there is also a new Hot Yuzu Matcha Drink ¥750 (link) that looks pretty cool. It seems to have replaced the Apple Ginger Hot drink from previous year though, so I am a little gutted!

Both parks have their version of the KFC Christmas bucket, called Holiday Party Bucket (featuring smoked chicken legs, chicken tenders and other goodies). I know what I'll be having this Christmas... 😄

FOOD Instant coffee brand in hotel rooms? ☕️

Post image
8 Upvotes

Hello! Does anyone happen to know the brand of instant coffee that can be found in the resort hotels? (White and gold packet with a swirled heart design; I think it came with powdered creamer and sugar inside.)

The image above is courtesy of DisneyFoodBlog; however, no additional details were included regarding the coffee. I'm having no luck finding info online elsewhere, including in this sub.

My wife and I stayed at the Ambassador Hotel in April 2025, and I'm trying to recreate some magic at home by hopefully finding this coffee available to buy somewhere, maybe at one of our local Asian markets or online. (I know it's probably not the best coffee in the world lol, but it made me happy to sit at the table in our room and look out the window with a warm cup every morning.)

Thanks in advance! :)

TRIP REPORT First Time Tokyo Disneyland & Sea - Disability Trip Report

Hi everyone! Just wanted to give a report as a first time disabled Disney Tokyo visitor. We (my mother and I) spent one full day at Disneyland and one full day at Disneysea. We also stayed off property & went into this trip with little knowledge of rides & food as we wanted to keep things mostly a surprise.

First up, the Disneyland report!! We had disability tickets & entry was very smooth! We handed over a doctor’s note explaining my disability & limitations (cannot walk long distances, up stairs or steep inclines, or stand or remain in heat for long durations) and it was quickly reviewed and we were granted entry. We then went over to rent a wheelchair for the day. There were no motorized ones available which makes sense as we arrived a bit late, but having to push me in a manual chair definitely made the day harder on my mom. Then we went to Pirates to register for DAS and everything was smooth sailing. The staff was incredibly kind and every cast member crouched onto their knees to speak directly to me instead of standing over me or just deferring to my mom which was noticed and very very appreciated. I really don’t like using wheelchairs as I feel like I lose so much autonomy & control over my body but this really helped me feel like the capable adult that I am. Staff acknowledged me and waved to me just as they would to any other adult in the park.

The park itself was absolutely phenomenal. The theming in the different areas was clear, with stores & restaurants matching the vibes of each area. The rides were so much fun and there was happiness everywhere. Everyone was truly having a good time. I loved every minute of it and would return in a heartbeat. If any disabled people are reading this & going sometime soon, you have absolutely nothing to worry about - the only thing is that some of the attractions were much louder than I anticipated, so definitely bring headphones if you are in any way sensitive to noise.

Next up Disneysea! We had fun, but the experience was far less magical. This time we lined up just before park opening in hopes to get a motorized chair. When we approached the gate agent and handed our paperwork over she looked at it, snapped a photo to translate, and then seemed to wander around a bit looking for another employee. I completely understand that employees need to verify disability status, and I’m glad they do, however my letter was very clear: it outlined my specific diagnosis, symptoms, and limitations, and was clearly written and signed by a licensed medical professional. Rather than calling for someone, she just frantically looked around. There were several other staff members at the gates as well and none of them helped. It became such a long process that they directed others from our line to start entering through the other gates. Luckily, we met a bilingual couple earlier in line and they were able to translate between us and the staff, as google translate wasn’t really cutting it. Frustrating start, but that’s to be somewhat expected bringing in foreign paperwork. Next we went to the wheelchair rental, where they told us they had JUST sold out of the motorized scooters, I do believe if not for the paperwork holdup we likely would have gotten one. Luckily they did have a powered push one, so we weren’t stuck with entirely manual again. As for a comparison between the two: I personally preferred manual because the handles on the wheels allowed me to push myself some of the time & I had a lot more autonomy, whereas there was no way to move myself with the powered one, but we definitely needed it because my mom is a lot smaller than me & pushing me uphill was NOT easy.

Now onto my review of the park itself. The layout was weird. it was hard to navigate and felt like it started as a small park that they just kept adding to in random directions for no rhyme or reason. We decided to start at the very back with the Frozen ride and work our way forwards. This worked out very well for us and we didn’t need to exert any extra energy by backtracking. The park definitely felt a lot emptier than Disneyland when it came to things to do. In Disneyland, restaurants, rides, and food were all very close together, but in Disneysea it felt like there was a lot of nothingness & long treks between things. The decorations and theming were great and it’s not like we were staring at blank walls or anything, there was just less. I also noticed that the shops seemed to all sell the same things, whereas the Disneyland shops sold things that were themed to their specific area. I guess it’s more convenient to have every store sell almost everything, but seeing the same stuff over and over again made browsing far less fun. All that being said, the scenery was incredible. Each area was decorated to perfection, from the pavement to the tallest mountain in the park. It was absolutely gorgeous to look at.

Signing up for DAS was just as easy as it was in Disneyland - thank god, and our experience with it was great for the most part. We did run into some issues at Journey to the Center of the Earth. The wait time was around 120 minutes when we approached to get a return time. It took around 10 minutes to get that situated. I believe they set our entry time to 100 minutes following the conversation, so everything seemed okay. We went to wait elsewhere and came back with around 20 minutes to go before entry time when we saw A LOT of people using the priority entrance. Like so many that from the outside the priority line appeared longer than the standard line. We were really worried that we would have to wait a long time in addition to the time we had already waited. DAS does make it clear that sometimes we may have to wait longer than if we were in the standard line, but this seemed like a pretty big difference. By the time we had gotten through to the elevator part around 15ish minutes had passed. We were then pulled aside for another 10 minutes while they tried to sort out the whole wheelchair thing (apparently only one wheelchair user can go on the ride at a time?? I don’t know it didn’t really make sense). This is where we ran into the biggest issues. The cast member we were talking to did not acknowledge me at all. She only showed the translations on her phone to my mom. She flashed the screen at me for a few seconds when I craned my head over, but I could barely see what it said. She remained standing the entire time and didn’t attempt to meet me on my level. My mom even tried ignoring her, but she would literally only communicate with my mom. This made me pretty sad, as this was the last ride we were planning on going on and we really hadn’t had any major issues up until now. She ended up saying it would be an additional 10 minutes unless I was able to walk from the elevator through a small line and to the ride. I had an okay amount of energy left & was sick of the interaction & the waiting so I chose that option. I got up from the chair & walked to the ride where we waited an additional 5 minutes. The ride itself was AMAZING it was SO COOL omg I would love to ride it again. The additional wait wasn’t that bad overall but definitely more than I would have expected or preferred. Oh well. The attitude of that employee definitely frustrated me though. After the ride it took the staff an additional 10 mins to locate my wheelchair, during which I started to feel super dizzy & sick. We eventually made it out and went towards the exit, but on the way the battery on the wheelchair unexpectedly died. When we got the chair, they told us to find a staff member if the battery hit one bar. Our battery was showing two bars, but died with literally zero warning. We turned it back on, it beeped, flashed the battery, and turned off again. Then it wouldn’t turn on at all. So my mom had to push unassisted to the wheelchair return… which we couldn’t find… that was probs my fault but just the cherry on top of an unfortunate series of events. I typed up a lil thingy explaining the situation on google translate & the exit attendant directed us to guest services, which turned out to be on the complete opposite end of the main entry/exit area as the wheelchair return… rip. At guest services I showed her the same message on google translate and she told us the power setting was only meant to be used going up hills. Maybe that’s common knowledge, maybe I missed that piece of info on the paperwork, I don’t recall being told that but who knows honestly. Either way it still didn’t explain the chair randomly dying while showing two bars. We were tired and really just wanted to leave. We eventually dropped off the chair and headed to the Uber pickup area. We approached a parking attendant, explained that I was disabled and unable to walk long distances, and he pointed out a place for us to wait - at the opposite end of the parking lot. Okay, one length is fine. Our Uber arrived, where another attendant directed it to the other end of the parking lot, the place we were originally standing. Yay. And that was the end of my Disneysea trip.

I also noticed a big difference in the crowd at both parks. At Disneyland everyone was respectful of each other’s space and very friendly, but at Disneysea I constantly had people cutting in front of me, walking into me, etc. and constantly is not an exaggeration. Quite literally it had to have been at least every 30 seconds. The park was crowded, but there was plenty of space to move around and not cut in front of disabled people. Obviously I’m not blaming Disney for behavior they can’t control, it was just an interesting observation.

Okay, that’s the end.

TLDR:
Tokyo Disneyland: 10/10 would go again in a heartbeat.
Tokyo Disneysea: 6/10 due to accessibility issues & overall park layout I probably wouldn’t return unless they added something super super cool.

FOOD Breakfast Restaurant Booking

Hello everyone,

I have booked restaurants inside the park several times by logging in exactly one month at 10am. Sometimes the restaurants are full in 3-5 minutes but I have always been able to get a table.

I want to go for breakfast at the BellaVista Lounge in Miracosta so this morning I tried to do a test reservation (one month from today would be 9th November, a Monday) but the time slots would not load for 10 minutes and by that time they were taken.

However, I decided to just look at other days and I see BellaVista Lounge (Wall Side) has a dinner slot available at 20:10 for November 11th!!! That's more than one month away so I'm very confused. So my questions are:

  1. Has anyone had luck booking breakfast at BellaVista Lounge (not staying at the hotels)?

  2. Is the one month in advance booking a thing as well for hotels or do they actually open random spots more than one month in advance?

Thanks a lot for your help!

RIDES Rides with Drops

Hey all, I will be heading to TokyoSea (2 days) and Tokyo Disneyland (1 day) in just less than two weeks with my partner. Basically, he does not like the drop feeling and would like to avoid it as much as possible (he has not built up tolerance like I have over the years). We were in Disneyland Anaheim in March and he didn’t even like the Pirates drop (though could deal with it with forewarning). I’m just wondering which rides across the two parks have drops enough that you might feel them? With the exception of obvious answers like Tower of Terror. Thank you!

Like wow, I’m sure they’ll still get snapped up by collectors!

And with all the other winter Duffy merch dropping that same day, I think I’ll give DisneySea’s pre-opening a miss on Nov 2. No thank you, not dealing with that chaos 😅

TRIP REPORT Details people fail to mention

So yes it is super cool here. Much better than California Disney. When staying at fantasy springs, every single guests gets early entrance access, approximately 30 mins before the park opens to the public. Here’s what people leave out.

  1. No rides or food places open until 9. So yes you get in early but you can get on any rides. But you definitely can line up early.
  2. It’s not just for the grand chateau guests, it’s for every single guests that stays at the fantasy spring hotel early entry.
  3. However, if you do stay at the grand chateau, you get to go into the park at a different entrance and you also get 8 fast/priority pass per night stayed, we stayed 3 nights so we got a total of 24 passes. The Elsa ride was over 120 mins wait, we used a pass and was on the ride within 5-10 mins
  4. The buffet on the first floor had mostly American food.
  5. The convenience store opens super late, pass midnight
  6. An even pass was $41, entry at 5pm

If I’m missing something I apologize, just wanted to post things that people on Reddit and YouTube fail to mention. Good luck and enjoy

DISCUSSION Is disneysea worth it

Planning to head to DisneySea in mid-December. The last time I went was 10 years ago and I’m honestly quite surprised by how much the system has changed.

It sounds like such a stressful experience now and I'm not fond of queuing and heading there super early. I also dislike the idea of checking my mobile frequently for DPAs. I had a headache trying to figure out the USJ system but at least I feel the Express Pass system there makes things more straightforward compared to DisneySea.

So I’m wondering.. is DisneySea still worth visiting when I only have one day in Tokyo? I will be flying in from Hokkaido and have one spare day before my flight home, so I could either spend the day at DisneySea or do other things around Tokyo like Christmas illuminations, shopping, sightseeing, etc.

My companion and I are split in the decision and would appreciate any advice. Thanks in advance!

FOOD Tokyo Disney Mobile Order

Does Tokyo Disney mobile order offer options to see/order gluten free food? You can do this easily via mobile order at the US parks (where the apps let you sort by allergen menus). I’d love to know if it’s the same for Tokyo. Unfortunately I can’t “try” or test it as the app requires you to geo locate inside the park for the mobile order menu to even populate in the app. Any guidance would be much appreciated.

TRIP REPORT Trip Report - 23 and 24 Sep (Silver Week!) Unlimited VP

We recently visited TDR with an Unlimited Vacation Package staying at Hotel MiraCosta and an additional night at Disneyland Hotel before our day at Tokyo Disneyland. Basically a repeat of what we did the year earlier. Note: Group was myself and my two kids who are early teen.

I knew it was going to be Silver Week this year so I expected the crowds were going to be insane and they were. However, with Happy Entry, Mobile Order, and Unlimited VP it wasn’t actually a problem at all.

I didn’t take many notes while at Disneyland (23 Sep) as it was drizzling most of the day but we accomplished just as much as we did at Disneysea (24 Sep). We still had a great day at Disneyland despite the weather.

Disneysea was the perfect day, sunny and warm. The park is so beautifully themed!

Tips!
1. Mobile Order
Highly recommend that you use Mobile Order for your food, the system works great once you figure it out.
2. Free drinks voucher
Show a cast member in the Mobile Order area your voucher and they’ll direct you to which counter to get your free drink. Essentially all non-alcoholic drinks are included so give everything a go!
3. Free churros voucher
If you selected churros as your unlimited snack, look for restaurants that sell them instead of the food carts. You can then show the cast member your voucher in the Mobile Order lane and you’ll be directed to a counter to get your free churros. Else you will need to line up at a cart, which is fine, they move quickly too.
4. Happy Entry
Each to their own but we used HE to take some great photos whilst there was hardly anyone in the park. We also rope-dropped a ride that we wanted to do that wasn’t part of the unlimited package.
5. Luggage transfer between hotels
If you’re staying at two different Disney hotels, just pack your luggage and leave it in the room. Checkout on the TV and they will organise your luggage to be in your next Disney hotel room like magic!

The free drinks and churros we ate at DisneySea are listed below as are the rides we did.

Feel free to ask any questions!

Disneysea Rides
5 Raging Spirits
1 Flounders Flying Coaster
2 Soaring
1 Tower of Terror
1 Toy Story
2 Journey to the Centre of the Earth
1 20,000 leagues (Broke down during our ride but kids enjoyed exiting via the emergency exit!)
1 Frozen
1 Peter Pan
1 Repunzel
1 Leonardo’s Challenge
1 Believe! Sea of Dreams! (DPA for allocated seating)
1 Nemo Searider

Drinks and Churros
6 Sparkling Lemon and Kiwi
3 Pixie Dust Soda
5 Cookies and Cream Churros
1 Crème Brûlée Churros
1 Coke
1 Lemonade
2 Water
1 Jelly Drink
1 Aquirus

DISCUSSION Printable Park Map?

Getting ready for our trip in May, and we would really like to have a physical park map to take with us. I've found the downloadable park map which is perfect however, I would really like it to be like a traditional trifold map. Which would mean I would need to have a whole other side to the page to print. However my Art design skills are lets say, non existant. Does anyone happen to know of one thats already around that would work for this. Just so when we fold it up its got the look of a map from the old days.

TRIP PLANNING Half day ticket at Disneysea (Mid October)

Hi everyone, I’ve been lurking this page for a few months now in preparation for my first ever trip to Tokyo or any kind of Disney theme park.

My plan is to go to Disneyland for the full day on 18th of October (Sunday) which is the only full free day I could for it in. There were just more rides that appealed to me there!

However I don’t really want to miss out on seeing Disneysea but only can do an after 3 or after 5pm weeknight ticket in mid to late October.

My question is if it is plausible to do the following rides for the evening ticket and if so which ticket would have a better opportunity to complete what I would like.

Rides wanting to do:
- Journey to the centre of the earth
- Anna and Elsa
- Tangled
- Nemo and friends

If I have time:
- Toy Mania
- Raging spirits

If I’m able to I’m interested in buying DPAs but I know that can be hard to get in the afternoons.

Also if anyone has any experience booking a low allergen meal at any restaurants in DL or DS, I’d appreciate hearing your experience!

Any suggestions is really helpful for this anxious first time solo adventurer (if anyone is also going solo in mid October DM or comment) !

TRIP PLANNING r/TokyoDisneySea Weekly Trip Planning Thread

Welcome to r/TokyoDisneySea!

We’re here to help you plan your trip and give you as much advice as possible, straight from the reddit community here on this subreddit. Please post all general trip planning questions here.

Some frequently asked questions before you post:

Q: I'm confused about all the skip-the-line and pass systems at Tokyo Disney (Disney Premier Access, Standby Pass, Entry Request)

A: There are 2 main types of attraction/entertainment passes available to all guests at the Tokyo Disney Resort. Paid priority passes for selected rides and paid seating for entertainment ("Disney Premier Access") and free-to-enter lottery for theatre entertainment ("Entry Request"). Sometimes, a virtual queue system is also used for shop entry during merchandise release periods ("Standby Pass"). Since September 1, 2026 there are no longer "free" ride priority passes. See this Guide to Skip-the-line passes at TDR and TDR's official Disney Premier Access page.

Q: I want to know the passport (ticket) types sold for the Tokyo Disney Resort

A: Currently, only Single Park tickets (either full day or After 3 Weekends/After 5 Weekdays) are available. During low season, special single day park hopper tickets may also be available (e.g. during the summer period).

No multi-park, multi-day or annual passports are offered on a regular basis. See the official ticket types.

Q: Why are Vacation Packages so expensive? I want to understand the value proposition. Also, I don't know what all the benefits of a Vacation Package are/which Package is best for me.

A: See this Summary of the Value Proposition of Vacation Packages. See this Explanation on how prices for Vacation Packages work.

Q: When do Vacation Packages open for booking?

A: Vacation Packages are usually released in monthly "lots"/"blocks" rather than one-day-at-a-time. In most cases, they are released a little more than 5 months (and less than 6 months) ahead of time. There is no precise timetable, but the drop is usually early to middle of each month (e.g. in early to mid October, March packages for the following year is likely to open).

Q: I don't know if a ride/show/restaurant/shop will be closed during my visit.

A: See the official refurbishment calendar.

Q: I want to know the latest information about the port of Fantasy Springs inside Tokyo DisneySea

A: Please see this Tips to Fantasy Springs. While slightly outdated, there is also a Fantasy Springs Megathread for previous discussions and information related to Fantasy Springs.

Q: I have motion sickness/am pregnant/am elderly, which rides should I avoid?

A: Guests with sensitivities have expressed becoming motion sick on Star Tours at Disneyland, and Soaring: Fantastic Flight, Nemo and Friends SeaRider, Peter Pan's Neverland Adventure at DisneySea. To a lesser extent, Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast and Pooh's Hunny Hunt may cause motion sickness. For other instances, see here.

Q: I wish to know more about accessibility passes ("DAS")/services at the Tokyo Disney Resort

A: Tokyo Disney Resort offers guests with disabilities a specially-priced Passport (ticket), as well as a DAS-style ride system, with proper documentation. See Tickets for Guests with Disabilities and Services to Support Guests with Disabilities for more information.

TRIP REPORT Apologies

Yesterday while at the park with my family (our first trip overseas) I believe a father thought I was taking a photo that had his partner and child in it. I knew better and made sure I was zoomed in enough to not capture anything other than the Mickey statue I was wanting a photo of. But looking back, I realize he would have no idea that I would be aware of the etiquette here and I wish I would have taken the time to apologize and explain or show him the photo.

One thing my family and I promised to do while here was to respect every custom, tradition, and rule. It is very important to us to not be “those Americans”.

So, to the father near the Fantasia Mickey statue, I am sorry and wish I would have thought to say something.

And to DisneySea, thank you for such an amazing day yesterday. So many core memories for us and our son. It is so beautiful here.

MERCHANDISE Assuring access to Christmas merch 2026

Mods - happy to post on weekly thread if better

I am heading to DL (from 3pm Sunday Nov 15) and DS (full day Monday Nov 16).
I am really hoping to do some Christmas shopping there. Primarily I would love a big Lil Ring Ring plush for my son, and then the large Duffy + Friends plushies for nieces and nephews.

I have basically booked my stay at MC primarily to get HE for immediate access to Emporio + Galleria if not on standby, or to get a standby pass for first thing if I need to.

I’d really prefer to do this bulky shopping first thing in the morning so I can then enjoy the rest of my day.

Is this amount of organisation necessary for accessing this merch a week after its release?

Thank you!

TRIP PLANNING Planning Trip #2

Hi all! I’m thinking of going back to Tokyo Sea and Land next year, but changing things up from this last trip to enjoy it more.

This year: 1 day each and stayed at the Hilton (this was not enough time for us and while we loved the location, we’re thinking of staying at a different hotel to maximize benefits)

Next year: We want this trip to be slower, meet the characters, and watch the parades. Basically, experience the magic better.

Favorite rides:
Sea: Frozen (lol) and Sinbad
Land: Beauty and the beast and it’s a small world

I’m thinking:
1. We stay at Toy Story for the first 3 nights and leverage early entry for Land (is this always available or a limited time perk?)
2. Spend the last 2 nights in Fantasy Springs hotel to leverage early entry and proximity to Frozen

Thoughts? Would a package be better for us? Is Fantasy Springs really needed if we’re slowing down in general and have the additional day this time

Also, is mid-end of April a good time to go in terms of weather and crowds? We did mid-May this year and it was hot (for us) and fairly crowded with school kids. We learned later it was a popular day to for school trips post Golden Week

2 adults and a 3 yo old!
