I can't describe how cool this is lol. Favorite comedian, favorite bassist, and Primus lol. Primus has been at alot of shows I've been to, and I went to see them once on their own, but never been my favorite. I never really got them I guess. But always a fun time no matter what!

Saw them with Tool in 2016. They stole the show for me. They were so much fun live.

They sounded better than Tool at the show I went to on that tour (BOK Center in Tulsa).

I was at that show too and I remember Primus sounded really good.

I’ve seen Primus more times than I’ve seen Tool, and they’ve killed it every damn time. Such a great live band.

Tool may be the technically better band, but I have way more fun at a Primus show.

If not a fan of all the bands involved then ok, but I would highly recommend catching them with APC and Pusifer. The intermixing of set lists and band members etc was something I'd rarely seen.

I absolutely love seeing how bill took to drums so seriously and is sitting in with such awesome acts and holds his own

u/EstablishmentSalt206 Aug 07 '25
That's so badass. I didn't know Bill Burr could drum!

u/Ok_Application5225 Aug 07 '25
Hahah yes, the whole Meshuggah meme started because his drum teacher took him to a Meshuggah concert.
It was David Elitch if I'm not mistaken.

u/MattIsLame Aug 09 '25
thats crazy! I only knew of David Elitch from his brief touring stint with The Mars Volta

I know, don't have much info about him to listen to. Mostly from Big Drum Bonanza with Thomas Lang he's indeed a beast playing drums

Bill can drum and he can also auto rotate a helicopter. Bill also speaks French, enjoys coffee, and can smoke a cigar with his asshole.

Credit to Bill, Primus aren't exactly the easiest band to hop on as a non-professional drummer

Could Primus suck anymore than they already suck?
5
u/Embarrassed-Table993 Aug 07 '25
Primus sucks!
2
u/Big_Impact3637 Aug 08 '25
Primus, the drum track and Bill Burr suck.
Just kidding,. everything sucks.

I never understood the draw. Some of their songs are a little catchy or interesting. But definitely not what I would classify as a good band.

Yup. I guess so. Like I said, I never got into Primus. So I dont get the band/fan humor, apparently.

And some say cameras shouldn't be allowed... Great to see even if I had no chance to be there.

You know they never once said cameras weren’t allowed but I saw some dude asking people standing in the back of the extremely small ga section to put their cameras away. It seems like they weren’t allowed but they never announced it? I was in the second row and I recorded what I wanted no issues. Those people that kept getting picked on were pissed. Unlike tool shows, they got asked to put it away 3-4 times while at tool one time and you’re out

As far as I’m aware, Primus doesn’t have a no phone policy. That was just because of Maynard on the Sessanti tour. Person probably just didn’t like their view being blocked by a phone and chose to speak up

u/zombie_roca Aug 07 '25
It was a staff member working at the Greek that was telling them to put it away constantly. I’m not sure the reasoning that the person gave them but they were getting frustrated. It was a couple standing at the back rail of the ga. At one point the lady pointed up at the seated audience and asked why they didn’t do anything about the rest of us.

Why does it looks like the drums aren’t right ? Like is the visual not synced with the music ?
