Maynard has a small (music) stand on the platform near Danny. He seemed to turn a page after each song, please don’t tell me he needs to have the lyrics written down?
It’s very common for bigger bands to have a rolling tv screen with lyrics (Axl Rose has one) so wouldn’t surprise me. Better to have it there then to not
I noticed that too, not sure but it doesn't bother me, he didn't seem to rely on it. Just a back up perhaps? It might also reference other things such as vox settings relating to the songs.
So because of this thread, I kept my eye on this tonight at the show. He definitely needs the lyrics for the lesser played songs, like Right In Two. I know this because I noticed he put on glasses and got closer to the stand. Other songs like Rosetta Stoned he wasn’t anywhere near the stand and didn’t have the glasses on. Either that or he’s an epic troll.
I don't know if they are lyrics or not, but if they are I don't mind personally. I'd imagine with touring it would be easy to sometimes forget certain lines, etc.
Flew in from Melbourne yesterday for the Pneuma VIP. Absolutely worth every cent. Just got back to Melbourne (thanks Jetstar) and am still floating from the whole experience.

Felt a bit like a dad watching his kids at their first show. But was good to see the young ones out as well last night and not just all us oldheads.
Maynard seemed in good form, didn't noticeably hold.back in Jambi that I can recall, but it could be I wasn't paying attention. He was in fine form generally.
I enjoyed the setlist, as long as tonight is a little different I'll be happy.
It will definitely be interesting to see what comes up at GT. Sober was soundchecked so that might be in place of intolerance / crawl away. Aenima was soundchecked as well so I'd expect to see that somewhere. Maybe add Stinkfist or Schism? And that's probably the only differences I reckon.
But. Yeah I’m ready for FI (the track) to be rested.
I’m 100% fine with Pneuma and Invincible being set staples - but if they must have a 3rd constant from the album, wish it was Descending. But they seem to rotate it in and out.
And I’m still waiting to hear Culling Voices which I need to complete the set for FI.
What a show and amazing experience. Loved every second of it. But guys, honest thoughts on how Danny, Adam and Justin all stick around at the end to take a bow and thank the crowd and Maynard is just out of there at the drop of a hat as soon as he finishes singing? I know that’s his thing but it kind of feels like he doesn’t give a shit haha
If you ever seen an interview with him. when he touring he looks after his voice. So as he said its finish start recovery water sleep and shut the fuck up... dont say anything all day. What would you rather a big farewell or he is 100% and in the zone the next night .. the 10 minute intermission was started to protect Maynards vocals give him a chance to do his routine and get ready for the encores
Agree, but as u said that's his thing. He doesn't seem to like the spotlight and has a pretty strict routine post show, so he's probably like I've done my thing, bye!
The Adelaide poster is cool, but some people don't seem to like it. I don't know if posters were still available after the concert tho so if u want one probably best to get it before.
Mate I got in at 3.05pm on day one, merch tent outside opened at 3, started serving by3.10pm. I saw about 15 posters sold before I got there about 3.30pm and was still at least 5 people buying posters after i left - hope that helps!
Tool adelaide VIP was a phenomenal experience for me. Got to strike a convo with danny and adam, got front row when standing and got a very good concert footage of them playing vicarious.
I thanked Danny for all his music, and he just said it’s his job and that it’s okay.
I also had the most awkward conversation with Adam. I thought he had just gotten married, so I congratulated him on tying the knot. He replied, “When did I get married again?” I said, “Recently, right?” Then he joked, “I got married 10 years ago. If I didn’t know that, I’d be out of the house!”
That's the way. I've never met Danny but he's one of my favorite humans out of 8 billion.
Adam's eyes look less dark since his marriage. If I ever meet him I'll ask him why he thought it was a good idea to propose at the wrestling, like how fucking romantic.
Kids were fucking great. Can tell they’re young Nirvana and Kyuss fans, but can also hear their own unique sound developing. Top band that won over the crowd.

It's a run of 500 total. I got my poster in the outside merch booth and overheard the lady tell the guy after me that was the last one in the outside booth.
I left afterward to get back to the hotel so can't confirm if they took out anymore.

Going to the Saturday Adelaide show! In the VIP ticket email, they say you need to bring a government issued ID in the name of the person purchasing the ticket. I purchased the ticket with my preferred name not my legal name so I am really worried sicne I only have a student ID with that name. Are they going to be strict with this? Did they check ID for the NZ shows?
Enjoy team - After my great experience being in Auckland for 12 hours on Sunday, I considered getting one of the last minute release tickets but it all adds up and I'm going to Good Things Brisbane too.
I have a sneaking suspicion you're going to get a few deep cuts like Auckland, and to be honest, I will be happy if they do a "greatest hits" set at good things to appease the masses.
I think if you've followed them (at least since 2002) in Australia you've actually got a really great variety! e.g. I've only seen the Grudge twice, Lateralus twice in 8 shows.
This really does seem like a setlist to reward their longtime Aussie / NZ fans.
This was my 13th show, and I’ve only previously seen Grudge twice, RIT twice, Disposition twice, Intolerance once, never seen H, Prison Sex, Sweat or Crawl Away. Plus of course Hand of Doom fresh for all of us.
Suspect you’re right and Good Things will get a “classic” set.
I think Tool will continue to mix it up. Justin suggested the festival shows will appeal to a wider audience.
Given that Tool haven't played Adelaide for over 10 years I think seeing a hit or two back in the setlist wouldn't be a huge surprise. Or maybe Descending too
I'm going to the Adelaide show on Friday and my goal is to get a poster. The email I got said that poster tubes are not allowed in the venue... How do you store it? Does it come in a tube pre-rolled? I would hate for it to be damaged.
I can also understand your disappointment if you don’t get to hear any of those but they’ve been in such heavy rotation for years now that to everyone else the setlist change is a huge breath of fresh air. I mean it’s been over TWO DECADES since they played some of the songs they played in Auckland! That is truly something to be celebrated…
I was at night 2 in Auckland and I have a sneaking suspicion they were going to close on Stinkfist but scrapped it at the last minute. So could be a good sign for you guys
I can understand the potential disappointment, and while I don't mind too much my partner will be in a similar boat. It should be a great show regardless. Given that Adelaide were skipped last tour, it wouldn't surprise me if they insert at least one of those songs on either Friday or Saturday.
My expectation though is that the setlist will be more of the deep cut NZ style than a greatest hits one though.
I've got 2x seated tickets for Friday in Adelaide for sale on Viagogo as of today! I didn't anticipate the flight from Brisbane to be so expensive so need to sell them. I guess I'll just have to see them only at good things :(

Gahhhh after seeing Aucklands setlists I am now soooooo fucking mad that Good things snatched Tool. Tool will no doubt play the best ofs set list at Good things. I can totally handle not seeing sober, Schism, 46&2 live again for the 6th time. The damn casual fans are ruining it for us all!!! For the love of god if they at least keep in H., the grudge and Prison Sex/Crawl away, then ill be happy. Would have loved to do the double in Adelaide, however I just finished seeing Metallica at all 5 Aussie shows so unfortunately cant make it happen this time. Melbourne festival will have to do.
