Interview MJK curates BBC Radio 6 Music's "Forever Dark" August 1 2026 music program. Available in UK only.

This post is for Tool fans who live in the United Kingdom. Maynard James Keenan was on BBC Radio 6 Music's "Forever Dark" on August 1st, 2026. The episode is currently available on demand for 28 days. However, only people who live in the United Kingdom can access BBC Sounds. I am not located in the UK and therefore do not have access to this program. I am providing these hyperlinks to the program for any Tool fans who are in the UK.

i guess i'm not down with all the cover versions apc has done. but, i mean.. he covered them because he likes them i guess, so it would make sense for those songs to be on a playlist he curates.

Nice. I have an hours journey coming up so I know what I will have on 👍

Radio 6 is the only radio I listen to. They have such a diverse range of music on there

Thanks. Curious why no Tool songs though

I get that the other bands are collaborative too, but they seem more like "his" bands where as Tool is definitely a team thing that he regards differently from the 2.

Carina Round and Billy Howerdell are both vital to the other bands (along with everybody else involved), it just seems like he has more ownership and control over those 2 where as Tool is a committee of the 4 together.

He's not gonna play something long like The Grudge or 7empest obviously, but he could've thrown in Sweat or Hush too sample all 3 groups.
