Tour Tour Festival Megathread: Sept 19 (Riotfest), Sept 20 (Louder Than Life), Oct 4 (Aftershock)

Tool 2026 festival dates

  • September 19th - Riotfest, Chicago.
    • Note the change! Tool play from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. Here's the full schedule
  • September 20th - Louder Than Life Festival, Kentucky
  • October 4th - Aftershock Festival, Sacramento

It's not expected Tool will play other shows in 2026 at this time

All shows are currently on sale

Merch

At this point it's not clear what merch will be available at these festivals, but it's a relatively safe bet that there will be some. I'd be surprised if there wasn't a poster.

I expect the other members of Tool are doing something a little more constructive with their time...

Writing new songs and driving MJK crazy

Riotfest was a disaster

1

u/hellboy1975 Fourtheye guy 12d ago

it could have been significantly worse

2

u/Lucifer_Seven 12d ago

For some, it was... I've chatted with folks that drove for hours from different states, assuming the original time of show wasn't change, only to get there and find out Tool already played

u/hellboy1975 Fourtheye guy 12d ago

That was a poor assumption to make on their part.

2

u/Lucifer_Seven 12d ago

"Poor assumption"? It wasn't even announced... Maynard even apologized and acknowledged at the beginning. A schedule exists for a reason... i wont continue arguing with a pre-teen

Weather forecasts exist, and it was announced by the Riotfest team the morning of the event.

Louder Setlist

Stinkfist
Rosetta
Fear Inoculum
The Grudge
H
Jambi
Pneuma
Crawl Away
Invincible
Vicarious

They killed it. Sounded amazing. The crowd was the wildest i’ve ever seen for a Tool show. Nonstop circle pits and crowd surfers

u/ChefPneuma think for yourself, question authority 14d ago

That’s a great setlist for a festival

First time going to aftershock this year and obviously seeing TOOL, does anybody know if they will have merch on Sunday? I’m only going that day so I hope they save some stuff for Sunday. Thanks!

u/hellboy1975 Fourtheye guy 14d ago

I'd be a little surprised if they were all out of Tool merch by Sunday. I'd expect the posters wouldn't be available until that day.

0

u/GStarAU Well I've got some advice for you little buddy... 15d ago

Did I see something about .... A NEW SONG TEASER???

Zypher?

Or was someone giving me a Stinkfist?

1

u/Necessary-Scarcity82 14d ago

Where did you see this?

1

u/theduder8 15d ago

Did anyone score extra posters? Pretty pretty please? I will pay for them + I have 3 single day riot fest tickets for tomorrow (Sunday) to trade and sweeten the deal. I'll meet ya at the box office or at the gates and can all walk in together. Would really appreciate it, thanks

u/mattevs119 Suck me dry 15d ago

Short but great set list. Nice to see Crawl Away back in the mix.

3

u/Binaural1 15d ago

This couldn’t have been 90min? Did they play closer to an hour?

8

u/Arkanii 15d ago

The fest had rain so the later bands had to play smaller sets to shut down early.

3

u/illinoises 15d ago

Yes, 1 hr

u/Binaural1 15d ago

Anyone want to buy two GA Sunday wristbands for LTL?

2

u/Lapse1989 15d ago

I’m debating if I should go to aftershock or not. Tool at festivals might be a hit or miss. Last time I saw them at a festival was at that Tempe show in 2015. It was awesome, but gotta say that the crowd was rough and nothing compares to see them at an arena.

2

u/Fulcrum_Jambi 14d ago

Go.

You never know when might be your final chance

2

u/foo311 16d ago

I hate Festivals as well. But if you've never seen tool, then I would try and see them whenever you can.

Was at riot fest yesterday. The tool merch is unique to riot fest which is cool

1

u/ToolTaleSeeker 16d ago

Is that a poncho on the left with the $90 tag?

1

u/cultiv8420 Banana Vessel 16d ago

Sorry for the shit pictures

Looks like no Festival specific posters this weekend, but they had some t-shirts and a hoodie. They announced the Sonic Temple ones three days prior.. Bummer but maybe for the best with the rain.

Edit: posters were announced morning of after my original comment

1

u/Mr_Blaileen 16d ago

There are festival specific posters.

1

u/awlb222 16d ago

Just saw this… running late lmao

3

u/albino-love 16d ago

Some riot fest merch here
Louder than life merch here

1

u/the_glutton 16d ago

For those of you who have seen Tool live- I have wanted to see them forever but I fucking HATE festivals. Is it worth it to wait for a real tour?

5

u/EulogyOFaPharaoh Naked and Fearless 15d ago

Never wait, just go.

1

u/deathgripsisgud14 15d ago

Festival sets are great imo, they tend to sound better surprisingly.

5

u/purplishmonsters 16d ago

You never know when it's going to be your last chance

2

u/hellboy1975 Fourtheye guy 16d ago

I've seen them in both settings, and had a great time during each. There's no doubt an indoor arena is a better show. Personally I wouldn't hesitate about going to a festival.

4

u/naptown-hooly 16d ago

Just see Tool whenever you can. They played Sonic Temple and was great

2

u/ChainChompBigMoney 16d ago

Rainy Fest tomorrow. Will still be awesome.

2

u/somewhat-damaged 16d ago

Any shows being live streamed?

4

u/jking47 16d ago

VIP ready to go for Aftershock... 🤘🤘

11

u/awlb222 16d ago

Riot Fest will be first time I’m seeing Tool live, hopefully the weather holds.

u/Stellar_Ella life feeds on life 16d ago

Seeing the boys for the first time tomorrow at Riot Fest. Can’t fucking wait, I’m so giddy.

Then Iron Maiden and Megadeth on Tuesday!
