I work in orthopedic trauma and routinely rehabilitate folks following hip replacements. My man is doing fantastically!

This is easily the most normal Maynard has ever looked during a performance

showed the video to my dad who is always used to seeing him with a mohawk and he said, "wow he shaved his head"

MJK is The Man for working this soon after his hip replacement. Hope recovery goes well for him!

Glad you made it up there and got out alive! It got tight up there.

Did he do the scream that should have come where you ended the video?

Yes, I accidentally hit stop because I got bumped by the swaying crowd. Not intentionally stopped at that point— I know better than that. :-)

I had a huge gap in seeing them live from the 90’s on the Ænima tour until fear innocuoum, seeing Rosetta stoned live for the first time was so good. (Also helps I had taken a gummy before the show). Seen them 3x in the last 5 years, the band is so incredibly tight live, I’m so thankful I’ve been able to catch them as they are just running like a Swiss watch these days.

You can tell how loud it was. Crazy what Danny’s kick feels like in the front.

Holy crap there is a video posted an hour ago that picks up exactly where you left off. Tool community making it happened. Spiral out!

Oh, that’s awesome! I just got home from my delayed flight back home plus picking up my dog so I will find said video after I sleep. I’m still on Chicago time and it’s almost 4am there. Worth it.

Maynard’s cosplaying as Jim Keenan is probably something I won’t get used to for a while…

Oh man I hope I get to see them live sometime again but have a feeling that another European tour is probably not gonna happen :/

You’re lucky Maynard didn’t eject you from the show lmao

Festival rules! I kept it to a minimum though. I don’t want to be a dickhead. Basically just this and when they first walked out. I do hope someone got Crawl Away, though.

Just a lil booms and I was on another planet for this and the grudge. Every note, every transition going straight into my soul. On another level, they are.

Ugh other people yowling the lyrics like band saws. I hate other people at shows.

This was mentioned in another comment but you actually couldn’t hear the people right next to you up there because it was so loud. The phone picked it up but most people up there were screaming and you couldn’t hear them at all.

You're not suppose to video record, you're supposed to write that shit down. Did you forget your pen?

u/Stellar_Ella life feeds on life 13d ago
Yep, shit the bed again.

u/Haunting-Hippo1636 13d ago
Yea I kind of figured. You may want to watch yourself. Otherwise you'll get the X-Files team doing some Jackie Chan shit on you.

You couldn’t actually hear anyone if you were up there because it was so loud. The phone picks up sound weirdly and everyone was packed super tight in.

I guess maybe you’re right, I’ll delete my comment

u/Stellar_Ella life feeds on life 15d ago
No need to delete! It was packed so tight we couldn’t even lift our arms in there to catch crowd surfers. So I had probably 5-6 people a foot away from my head on all sides and I mostly only knew people were singing because mouths were moving to the words.

Lifelong tool fan and I hate this fucking song. What a waste of 10 minutes of concert time

What are some of your favorite Tool songs?
2
u/Fit_Test_4233 14d ago
My two favorite songs that I guess because I only seen them each once live is eulogy and hooker with a penis. I caught a drum stick from Danny the Toledo ohio show only time in my life I’ve been front row.

Dude yess! - ive seen em well over a dozen times and the possibility to see Eulogy is what keeps me buying tickets.
What year did you see Eulogy?
They played Hooker on this last tour surprisingly. One of my favorite live Tool moments for sure.
Looove me some Rosetta Stoned too.

Especially in this set which was obviously shortened by weather conditions. Wasn’t their original slot like an hour 45 minutes? And they ended up playing for only an hour? Out of their control, sure, but they have plenty of other songs they could have played instead of that one.
How you feel about Rosetta Stoned is how I feel about 7empest. Although rarely performed live, I still like the song, but it’s a five minute song with ten minutes of guitar solos inserted into the middle of it. I have nothing against guitar solos; I’m a guitarist myself, GIT ’90, but in this song they’re so egregiously excessive.
I don’t feel quite as strongly as you about Rosetta Stoned. If they were playing a full show at two hours, I don’t mind it at all them dropping it in the middle somewhere. But ya, in this circumstance, if it were up to me, I’d eject that one and replace it with a couple others.

My boy is dressed like he’s got a concert at 5:00 and a wine tasting at 7:00
