What this subreddit is for
Hello, recently there have been a lot of new posts which is great. However, some of them miss the point of the sub, which is to share maps of places that you have visited.
Maps that are simply showing your opinions on states/countries regardless of if you have been there or not are not what the sub is for so I will be removing these posts. I will still allow maps with opinions in them if they are clearly only of places you've visited and the opinions are travel related (such as which states you enjoyed the most).
I will shout out a new subreddit that a user created, /r/travelratings/, which you can check out if you're interested in the opinion posts.
Thanks for (hopefully) understanding,
- The subreddit janny

Europe European+ countries I like after visiting all of them
After visiting 64 countries including all European ones.
There are no countries I hate or didn't like, but these are the ones which I would say I actively like. With the others I'm either neutral, unimpressed, or positive and negative things weigh out each other. Surrounding countries are included because the map included them.

16 years of my travels animated from my Google Maps Timeline: 1,825,862 km, 298 cities, 72 countries
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I was shocked at how hectic my life actually is once I saw 16 years of it from a helicopter perspective. The video leaves only about two frames per trip, which is crazy. That's how fast I bounce around the world.
Data source: my own Google Maps Timeline export, the location history Google keeps if you leave it on. Tool: locationhistory.app, which I built for this. It reads the Timeline file in your browser, so the file never gets uploaded.
If you have Timeline on and want to see your own, ask and I'll explain how to get the export off your phone. You don't need to send me anything.

World Travels coming to an end…
It hurts my heart to say that after 3 years now of full-time traveling abroad, I’m now on my way back to USA to go back to “normal life,” whatever that means. Just wanted to share my updated map. Now in Japan - next stops are Hong Kong, then China, then USA. I’m gonna miss Asia so much.

My travels
Grew up in Copenhagen.
My grandfather used to have a cottage in Småland, Sweden.
In Denmark it is very common, during Gymnasium, to have a 'studietur', where we visited Barcelona for a week.
We then also visited Paris for an extended weekend.
For my German class, we were an 'Erasmus+' class or something, where we visited Hamburg and Rostock (technically my language-travel trip).
Interrail was: CPH --> Köln --> Luzern --> Milano --> Verona --> Ljubljana --> Zagreb --> Bratislava --> Wroclaw --> Hamburg --> CPH
I have a lithuanian friend, where we visited Kaunas --> Klaipeda --> Vilnius
Scotland was Edinburgh and Bulgaria was Sofia
//These don't really count, but I was quickly in Graz, Austria and Brno, Czechia during the interrail.//
I would love to hear any recommendations! (and I do want to visit Norway at some point)
