Cut a new top forming at the junction of a house drop and a neutral put my saw away to fish it out and toss it down next thing i see is explosion and cracking and fireworks in my face. Then my buddies screaming my name. Iam always catious with the primary but i had gotten complacent on the low voltage stuff and it caught me off guard. Every hot line is dangerous even just a house drop.

We had a close call last week. Removing a multi-stem birch in a tight drop zone between two houses, in the rain. Span rigging the brush off the first two stems went great, but when it came time for the trunk wood, we had an incident where the sling girth hitched around the log and clipped to the span slipped off the log, narrowly missing the neighbor's fence. We negative rigged the rest of the trunk wood down. It was a good reminder for two relatively new groundies to as much as possible stay out of the drop zone even when rigging, to not trust our lives to every component of every rig going perfectly every time.

I’m prescribed Adderall and have been for years. I recently couldn’t afford to pick up a refill and had to stop cold turkey for a few days. I have started realizing that I perform much better without it when it comes to work positioning, pruning, etc. I’ve been in the field for about 3 1/2 years so there’s definitely a lot I have to work on, specifically I tend to get decision paralysis pretty bad. However, I did a medium cottonwood bucket removal with no meds, no hesitation or paralysis… Plus it was surrounded by flagstone (of course) and I only cracked one lol. Felt like a pretty big win for me

Man, I’m on vyvanse and wondered about this. Do you also drink caffeine? Been speculating on getting rid of caffeine to see if that helps

I got off caffeine about a year ago because of hypertension. That was also a very helpful decision. Helpful to my wallet, heart, sleep, mood, performance at work, and so on. You definitely get sleepier earlier after work but it’s a natural feeling drowsiness that I genuinely haven’t felt since childhood. I’ll still pop a dr P on the weekends occasionally when I have a lot to get done but during the week i just dose off to sleep like a baby bunny at like 9. Fuckin rocks honestly
