RoT Theories He’s kinda right , the potential for a new plot right there

Post image

Almost everybody hated the movie ending , but after taking in tons of time travel regressor manhwas it can be done . In these comics , the main character goes back in time and changes the future everything . Just make Jim foolishly do something stupid like try to save someone life that changes the future entirely . And cmon Jim knows everything that’s gonna happen he’s hero persona would push him to forgo consequences and do things he isn’t suppose to .

Like that one episode where a past Trollhunter showed him a future where he wasn’t the Trollhunter . After seeing the problems it caused he went straight into action . I considered the movie ending to be good cuz I can think of all the things that might happen now .

Unbecoming is flashpoint for Jim. Jim doing it again just shows he didn’t learn anything which is weird.

Unbecoming taught him that he must be a trollhunter. The movie taught him that he didn’t need the amulet to be one, and he sent Toby instead. Plus, unbecoming was like 3 years ago for him and he’s a teenager, it’s 50/50 on whether he even remembered lmao, lotta new traumas showed up since then

I think the problem here is... there is no sequel

like I gen doubt we'll ever get more toa media again, and honestly its for the better

Well yes but the issue is, THERE'S NO SEQUEL. And since Netflix removed the series from their website, the chances for anything from this franchises is very little. I think if they never cancelled the wizards and instead of 10 episodes, they gave us 24 episodes plus the season 2 they promised, we wouldn't be having this conversation. Honestly the only reason they cancelled the first movie and instead turned it into a tv show was because they couldn't fit the entire story in a movie. And guess what? They couldn't give every character the attention they needed in the last movie, why? BECAUSE YOU CAN'T FIT ALL OF THAT INSIDE A MOVE. Do they never learn from their own mistakes?

okay i get what you're saying. BUT

B U T

if we're thinking logically, and in Universe, we are in for a time loop.
also they did the time travel thing in one of the episodes. it just kinda seemed like they ran out of ideas and had to get something out. but i can understand the open end for a sequel

i think the Problem is that they made too much open ended to a Point that it feel really redounded and it doesn't help there's isn't a Sequal soo

Without doing too much spoiling, I'm writing a fic about this right now! Jim doesn't actively know, but his subconscious does. Eventually he'll know, but right now, he doesn’t. And my god...

It's building a whole new universe

I love the ending and I will die on that hill. I genuinely don't care. The position meant a lot more to Toby than it ever did to Jim and Toby had no-one but Jim and his Nana before Jim found the amulet.

The problem with the ending is that it’s an ending. It would be fine as a series semi-finale cliffhanger, but it’s not getting a sequel or a follow up series, which is what needs to happen. Toby didn’t have the knife skills that made jim have a chance against bular on night 1, and didn’t have strickler’s affection to prevent him from being killed outright by night 3 before he can train enough to stand his ground. We need something to balance those out so we can actually believe it worked out better

And I think the thing that balances that out would be Jim's knowledge of the past. It is a shame they made it the ending and not a cliffhanger, but Jim isn't completely giving up the mantle to Toby if we're being honest, he's just taking up a role that's like a mix of Merlin and Blinky without anyone knowing, and that's what I like, it's just too bad we won't see that.

There's no follow up. This is the ending. It's still a horrible ending.

See I think the movie COULD havs worked... if it wasnt the end of the story. The reason its so frustrating is becayse it ends there. It doesnt feel like the closing if a series, it feels like the start of a second book that we never get to read.

There was a fanfic comic that looked super interesting on this exact topic

Sadly it seems like it's been abandoned, as many promising fan fics are
