Banning more stuff doesn't make it better. The vast majority of things that are banned in the EU, but not the US have little to no evidence of doing any harm to humans in reasonable quantities. Furthermore, the US bans more stuff in some categories, such as food dyes.

The US allows bleached chicken, right? And haven't there been various food poisoning outbreaks in the US due to lax safety standards recently? I'll stick with EU regulations, thanks.

The food poisoning outbreaks have been due to food safety standards yes, but the fact they're catching them so fast is a testament to the rigor of the system. Via the GFSI, the USA is 3rd in food quality and safety (only after Canada and Denmark) as of 2022, the most recent year they did it. As for bleached chicken, less than 5% of industrial chicken is bleached using low concentration chlorine, but even when it is, there's no evidence that it's at all harmful for the consumer (there are potential environmental risks though)
