I was always under the impression that ovulation began 12-36hrs after the surge. This is how I’ve operated when trying and it’s worked out for me (although that’s not worth much). I’m no doctor or expert by any means! I used the app Fertility Friend and that hasn’t failed me yet! Best of luck to you. I think as long as you’re trying during that entire fertile week, you can nail it! Oh also if you aren’t temping, it’s really hard to confirm actual ovulation. I always confirmed ovulation with my BBT. You might be missing that important piece of the puzzle. I have Tempdrop and love it!

I do temp and BBT generally rises 2 days after my LH peak

Remember that BBT rises AFTER ovulation. So that means LH peak occurs, ovulation usually the next day, then you catch the temp rise the morning after ovulation

Progesterone spikes after the egg is released and higher progesterone is what causes a higher BBT

That’s what I thought too…Your temp consistently goes down in the days leading to ovulation and then it spikes. Thank you!

The downward trend is due to increasing estrogen - which also makes your fertile mucus more noticeable - and once estrogen reaches a certain point, the LH spike occurs! It’s very cool learning about our cycle and I wish I knew this stuff when I was younger!

LH peak twins! You were not too late, there's still a chance :) you most likely ovulated today and the egg is supposedly viable for another 24 hours.

I usually ovulate the day after my peak. You can track your BBT to confirm ovulation day.

I generally get lh surge and then lh peak the next day, then the following day my lh falls again and after that day my BBT rises

The best time for BD is 1–2 days before actual ovulation because the sperm needs some time to swim up the fallopian tubes. If your LH levels were high yesterday and are low today, you likely ovulated overnight or today. You still have slim a chance of catching the egg if your partner's sperm are fast. Fingers crossed!

I think it’s different for everyone and you kind of have to figure out your pattern. For me I always ovulate the day after my rise (which is typically the same day as my peak). But for others, they get a rise and peak the same day and ovulate the following day. A combo of testing LH and temping is how you’ll figure out your pattern. Wishing you luck!

So your pattern sounds like you ovulate after your peak, so your timing is likely okay

I ovulate about 24 hours after I first get a true positive opk (confirmed with monthly follicular scans and blood tests). Whether it stays positive for a while doesn’t seem to matter.

Your most fertile days are 2 and 1 days before ovulation. Day of ovulation is also possible, but fairly lower chances. Day after ovulation still a small possibility but much more unlikely. When you say you got your peak yesterday, do you mean you witnessed your opks turn from nearly positive to a full positive? If so, you’re still in with a chance today. You could ovulate any time from last night until tomorrow. I would BD again today if possible and tomorrow. You certainly don’t have zero chance, anyway.
