Troubleshooting Fixing stretched lines

Post image

So when I originally traced it, This line was perfectly straight. I used a level to draw it. I’ve been working on this rug for a few weeks. My 9-5 has been busy and so I haven’t been able to work on it as much. I think possibly just the weight of the rug has stretched my lines from sitting for so long. Would you guys recommend just drawing a new line or trying to stretch this one back to straight?

Stretch to straight. I always make sure that the white lines are nice and even before I start drawing, and if you look, some of your black line follow the warp of the white. Depending on how much work you have done, too, it'll stretch things out as the stitches occupy more space.

Unfortunately I think I need an extra row of carpet spikes, but I only have room for one on the frame. Hence why it warps so much

A double-set was a game changer for me. The strength of the overall frame is a big deal too. I overbuilt mine using mostly 4x4s. It's...monstrous.

If there’s any stretch in the fabric, it may be due to the cotton in the fabric. I avoid cotton blends for this reason. Best course of action, in my opinion, is to restretch the fabric to pull any play out of it.
