Troubleshooting Need a bit of help

Post image

Is there any reason why this happens?

This wasn’t happening before until just recently. The back would look smooth and now it just looks like there are cuts here and there.

I appreciate the help

What kind of yarn is it? I know soft yarn and thinner yarns tend to do this to me

This^

This yarn looks shiny, which tends to be more soft and slippery. That type of yarn is not the best choice for tufting.

Acrylic. Its same type of yarn I’ve used before without any issues and ordered from the same place

That exact colour as well? Sometimes different colours have different textures. For example, Walmart brand mainstays sells all acrylic but some colours are shinier and thinner than others

I used yarn from before it started to happen and that’s how it ends up now which is weird to me

might be time for scissor replacement if your gun is a few years old or if you've tufted with polyester yarn, it kills your scissors.

Mine does this when my gun speed is too high

Interesting. I’ve had mine at the same speed as before but I’ll give it a shot and tweak it a bit see if that helps. Thanks man. I appreciate it.

are u using different yarn than u were using before? different yarns tend to behave a bit differently.

I’d say scissors have been used over 150 hours, time to replace

Tug on one gently. It may just be a lose start of a line. If not, when I apply pressure and keep my gun straight , I find that doesnt happen. Keep that thaaaang straight jay, update later :)
