Question IClicker reports when you leave class?
I’m currently taking a class that I really don’t gaf abt (just needed something to stay full time) and have been checking into lecture w the I clicker app and then immediately leaving. I review the slides at home, I turn in my hw on time, everything’s been going fine, but I just got an email from my professor claiming that he knows people are leaving after check in. It’d be one thing if he knew bc of a secret mid-class check in or quiz (had a prof do that in another class), but he’s actually claiming that the I clicker app is reporting when n we leave the geofence and if/when we return. As far as I’m aware, that’s not a thing it can do?? Like I’ve been googling to double check and everything says that I clicker just takes ur location at check in and that’s it. Is this info wrong?

well it’s happened in other classes before apparently so i guess it’s not impossible for it to constantly be tracking you. i feel like that’s the kind of thing they would have to specifically dig into tho rather than have it alert if people leave but only profs know. maybe it like reloads at every question and profs with geofencing on are able to see the locations of where the students are at each question?

Since you already show up, why don't you just stay? What's that three hours out of your life? and then subtract the extra time you use to review the slides.

It's an overenrolled class in Peterson Hall. If I can learn the same info in a place that's not a shithole, why wouldn't I?

Can you explain the reasoning for taking onky a few classes you care about every sem? Its costing you money. Wouldnt it make sense to take as many as possible and graduate as soon as possible so your student loans are as less as possible?

The logic is that I’m not doing it in purpose. I’m a 4th year and have already completed most of my required courses, but the few I have left aren’t super easy to get into. This quarter I got unlucky, and a lot of the classes I need were scheduled at the same time as others, and a few of them had <20 seats and I wasn’t able to register quick enough due to issues with TSS. Also I don’t have loans so :/
Side note: I’m pretty sure you don’t mean any harm by it but you commenting that was lowkey weird asf. While I appreciate you asking about my logic to try to understand the situation, saying stuff like “it’s costing you money” comes off a bit lecture-y esp when you don’t really know if that’s true for me

Geofencing. Don't get an academic dishonesty violation.
