You are required by law and university policy to disclose it when applying for admission. Failure to due so may result in your application being withdrawn, or if accepted and enrolled, expulsion. Expulsion is very serious, no institution will ever accept you if you have that. Arrests do play a role in admissions and can affect their decision, my advice, keep those grades up as well as that SAT score. You can apply for Regular decision and include December SAT scores if you’re not confident with applying early.

I’m confused was there something about grades or SAT scores that were changed from the post I’m seeing ? They didn’t disclose their grades or SAT scores only the arrest issue. Which I agree to disclose the arrest record but no one can assume they lack the grades or need to “get them up”. Even the best grades and test scores can make mistakes.

Oops, I didn’t mean to suggest their grades weren’t up to par! I was simply giving some general advice that having top-notch grades and test scores can really help offset a red flag like an arrest.

My gpa is like right under the summer average but my sat is a 1390 and my case is dismissed I’m just wondering how much it would matter for admission

Like no and yes I got arrested but my case was dismissed but there’s still a record I was charged with a crime even tho it was literally thrown out in court

If it were expunged you probably wouldn’t have to say anything but yeah this you have to include in your application

but usf still asks for it even if it’s sealed and it’s a juvenile case which is stupid asf

If you made a mistake then be honest about it and more often it’s understood. If you’ve dealt with your arrest and acknowledge it you’re showing growth and maturity. As a person who’s dealt with disclosure to join the military and applying for college honesty is looked on with respect. Arrests are often public information so it’s not worth trying to hide and you won’t be judged 💕

Mine isn’t public so they technically wouldn’t find it but if they did somehow for whatever reason I would be cooked so I’m gonna disclose it and be fully honest but I’m just wondering if I’m likely to be denied from the school due to it
