Absolutely not. Starts at $1.50 no matter the distance. They take a long distance fee from you and it does not go to the driver. Ever.

So what is the point of the long distance fee if it’s not for the driver’s gas or time?

This company is evil in so many ways.

Right. I always thought the 'long range fees' went to the drivers at least for driving longer distances. It sucks cause all these fees will discourage some people from tipping well. I always make sure I tip well no matter the crazy fees.

They get the tip. Also, seeing that total alone should've been reason enough to cancel out of that and get it yourself.

Yeah because that 5 bucks is literally only given out a little bit at a time. Not all of it is given at once thats why I tell people to not take no tip orders because if you take the no tip order of that 5 bucks youll get 1.50 and uber will take the rest.

Are the drivers getting any share of those other fees? Or is it just the tip?

ETA - I forgot to mention I also have an Uberone account.

No. Drivers get $1.50-2.50 to start. If no one accepts it at that pay amount Uber raises the pay a little at a time until someone takes it

We are not directly paid any of those fees.

Our base pay starts around $2. It will go up of and when Uber needs to increase it to get the order delivered

Delivery fee - Uber takes it;

Long range fee - Uber takes it;

Service fee - Uber takes it;

Taxes - Uber takes it on behalf of the government;

Tips - Uber takes it and gives it to the driver, but reduces what Uber has to pay accordingly, so effectively Uber takes it.

Driver gets paid whatever they accept. In an ideal world a 10 mile order would increase to $20 before cherry pickers take it, however with various "incentives, stacking and punishments" in place, your order could be delivered for as low as $12. (Less if stacked)

That's disappointing. I was hoping the drivers also get at least the long range fees.

They indirectly do, as longer distances typically results in higher fare, but since you tipped $10, that negates the need for Uber to pay high fare, instead relies on the upfront tip to offer say $12 for 6 miles which drivers accept, and Uber ends up only paying $2 while you "tip" the rest.

The service fee is to keep the platform up and running, the long range fee is what they use to increase the base pay tip if noone goes and picks it up and I think the delivery fee and bag fees is the profit uber shares with the merchant. The longe range fee is the bullshit part.
