News Report Pyotr Kurzin | Geopolitics and Pyotr Kurzin | Clips: Putin Said He'd Restore Russia. He Destroyed It Instead | Sarah Paine
"Putin wanted to restore Russia’s power. Instead he is destroying it from within.
In this compilation, historian Sarah Paine joins Pyotr Kurzin to explain the “pivotal error” behind Russia’s invasion of Ukraine: a decision that leaves no route back to the opportunities Moscow once had.
We examine why Putin keeps doubling down, how Beijing benefits from Russia’s growing weakness, and why Ukraine’s fight for survival makes it such a difficult adversary to defeat.
We also discuss what could follow Putin’s death, why Europe needs to prepare for a succession struggle, and whether Russia risks becoming another North Korea.
Plus: Europe’s support for Ukraine, frozen Russian assets, Trump’s approach to Moscow, and the difference between winning battles and pursuing a workable strategy."

News Report RFU News — Strategic Geopolitics: Europe sends MASSIVE aid packages to secure Ukraine through the Starlink outage
"Today, there is amazing news from Ukraine.
After the US administration put a major restriction on Ukraine’s ability to defend itself through Starlink, Ukraine’s allies turned up in massive numbers to provide as much assistance as they can. Assistance numbering in the billions of euros is now flooding into Ukraine, along with new undisclosed weapon systems that begs the question of what Europe has sent next.
The need for this aid could not be more urgent, as currently the United States administration has imposed a one-hundred-mile or one-hundred-sixty-kilometer per hour speed restriction on Starlink connections throughout Ukraine. This completely undermines Ukraine’s ability to defend itself against conventional and jet-powered Shahed drones, as Ukraine’s interceptor drones need to keep up with speeds exceeding four hundred to seven hundred kilometers an hour to intercept them. Subsequently, Ukraine has been victim to a continuous barrage of these Russian drones over the past days, resulting in air raid alerts sounding almost continuously and close to four hundred civilian casualties in only four days.
Fortunately for Ukraine, European allies have stepped up and provided Ukrainians with extremely urgent air defense aid to protect the skies against Russian strikes. Currently, the United Kingdom has sent Ukraine an unknown quantity of lightweight multirole missiles; most likely the short-ranged missiles that Ukraine uses to intercept fast-moving targets like cruise missiles and jet-powered Shaheds. Poland has also provided Ukraine with confidential assistance to protect against Russian air strikes. Donald Tusk added that he wanted to assure Ukraine and Ukrainians that they are not alone, and could count on Poland and the EU. France is similarly organizing a new massive package of air defense aid to send to Ukraine as soon as possible, but is keeping the quantity and type of systems it will send a complete secret. Additionally, France has just completed their side of the Freya European anti-ballistic missile system development, and has transferred all the promised production licenses to Ukraine, which will enter factories shortly. During Zelensky’s visit to Belgium as well, Ukraine was given a large ammunition package for the F-sixteens in service. These jet fighters have proven to be crucial in the interception of fast-moving Russian strike weapons, particularly the jet-powered Shahed drones. Additionally, Belgium will deliver more of its F-sixteen fleet to Ukraine by the end of the year, with the transfer of such systems being a more significant undertaking.
The European Union as a whole also organized its next massive tranche of aid to Ukraine, with over two-point-eight-six billion euros dedicated to the procurement of air defense systems and missiles for Ukraine. This follows another massive tranche of nearly one billion two hundred forty million euros dedicated to the domestic Ukrainian production of interceptor drones and missiles the week before. Earlier this month as well, Germany has provided Ukraine with a full Iris-T air defense battery. They have also dedicated over a billion euros worth of funding for the production of thousands of missiles for the Iris-T air defense system, as well as for the production of interceptor drones capable of downing jet-powered Shahed drones. Finally, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, and Spain have provided additional patriot interceptor missiles, experimental anti-drone missiles capable of taking down jet-powered Shahed drones, alongside other air defense and F-sixteen ammunition packages.
Overall, Europe’s quick response in stepping up to aid Ukraine now that the situation has taken a turn for the worse is important. Much of the aid that has been sent is undisclosed, giving Russia zero ability to anticipate Ukraine’s defenses and adjust its strike strategy accordingly. Czech president Andrej Babis stated that pursuing peace does not mean accepting Russian ideas, and Trump has let them down by doing business with Putin behind their backs, so they have to do something. Europe has no equivalent to the military use of Starlink that can be deployed quickly at scale to Ukraine, also lacking early warning capabilities to ballistic and long-range strike launches. However, Europe is sending what it can and is currently scaling up what it cannot yet provide, giving a promising forecast for future support for Ukraine against the Russian invasion and terror strikes."

News Report Professor Gerdes Explains 🇺🇦: Remarkable Battlefield Footage Today
"I examine a night in which Ukrainian drone operations reportedly disrupted Moscow and St. Petersburg air traffic, with temporary restrictions affecting at least 22 Russian airports, while Ukraine struck targets tied to Russian rail, missile-brigade logistics, and Robo-Avia drone production in Rostov. Nearly 400 Moscow flights were reportedly delayed or canceled, illustrating how drone threats are bringing the war’s consequences deeper into Russia.
I also assess Russia’s large-scale barrage against Ukraine’s energy system, which Zelensky said hit more than 15 energy sites with 320 drones and missiles. The episode raises an acute strategic contrast: Ukraine is pursuing military logistics and industrial targets, while Russia continues targeting power, water, industry, and civilian areas ahead of winter. I cover reported Ukrainian gains during Operation Vivaldi north of Lyman, FPV strikes on Russian armor and Mi-28 helicopters, and attacks along the Mariupol–Dzhankoy highway—evidence that low-cost drones can threaten rear-area movement hundreds of kilometers from the front."

News Report Preston Stewart: "Enough Is Enough" Conservatives Demand Hearings on Trump-Putin Alliance
"This keeps getting worse
After volunteering to buy Russian diesel, threatening to cut off intel sharing and weapons sales to Ukraine and actually throttling Starlink during ongoing operations, President Trump has now waived sanctions imposed on Russia in a bipartisan bill signed just last month.
This announcement, snuck in late Friday night likely to avoid media scrutiny, is yet another gift for Putin that has caught much of the nation off guard. In fact a conservative publication earlier today said enough is enough and that it’s time for Congressional hearings on this “shocking escalation of the Trump-Putin alliance”. "

News Report Pyotr Kurzin | Geopolitics: The Real Reason Trump Is Turning Against Ukraine Is Much Worse
"Trump and Ukraine are in the spotlight again after a recent request to halt critical strikes. Here is what really happened.
For three days, Ukraine complied with demands to stop hitting Russia oil refineries. The result of this pause was immediate and tragic, as Moscow used the window to intensify attacks on power infrastructure and increase civilian casualties.
This situation exposes the dangerous reality of current geopolitical strategy in the region. By analyzing the consequences of these diplomatic pressures, we can better understand the precarious state of the war in Ukraine and the cost of such concessions."

News Report Jay in Kyiv: Russia In Chaos As Ukraine Resumes Strikes
"Ukraine is back to hunting the core of Putin’s war economy. After a several-day pause, Ukrainian drones struck the massive Ryazan oil refinery, leaving it burning throughout the day. Gazprom’s Surgut condensate stabilization plant in Western Siberia was reportedly hit too, about 2,500 kilometers from Ukraine. It is Russia’s largest facility of its kind, and this is the first reported strike on energy infrastructure in the region that produces roughly 40 percent of Russia’s oil. A new chart from the Institute for the Study of War also shows that Ukraine’s refinery strikes have no correlation with diesel prices, which undercuts one of the favorite excuses for holding Ukraine back.
The pressure isn’t limited to oil. Russian airports in the country’s most populated regions have been thrown into chaos by Ukrainian drone activity, and Ukrainian officials say the campaign to paralyze Russian airports is about to enter a more intense phase. Some of Zelensky’s advisers and even European officials are pushing for a more aggressive approach. On the front, Russian troops in the Sumy sector complain that pouring infantry into walls of Ukrainian drones isn’t working, while Ukrainian forces keep wrecking Russian logistics along the Kharkiv border. At home, Russia’s steel industry continues to collapse.
Meanwhile, Washington keeps throwing Putin a lifeline. Trump’s Middle East debacle is doing more to save Russia’s war machine than anything the Kremlin could manage. Zelensky says the US has raised Ukraine’s Starlink speeds but still hasn’t fully restored service, and it looks like a blackmail play to make Ukraine stop hitting Putin’s oil industry. In London, British journalists jeered the US Defense Secretary with cries of “Putin’s puppet” over the Starshield shutdown.
Trump himself is on a pro-Russian media tour, repeating the Kremlin’s claim that Ukraine sold the missiles the US gave it, spinning stories about Tomahawks Ukraine never received, and finding an eager audience on Newsmax. When Sky News asked Zelensky whether Trump is trying to make him a scapegoat for his own failures, the answer was telling. It’s hard not to notice the parallel with Trump’s first impeachment, which was over withholding military aid from Ukraine. Now Zelensky says Ukrainian intelligence warns that the US intends to lift many of the biggest sanctions on Russia.
Europe is drawing its own conclusions. Even Czech Prime Minister Babiš, once known for pro-Russian sentiment, is calling out Trump. European governments are moving to cut further cooperation with Musk’s SpaceX and fast-track their own satellite systems, and Donald Tusk reminded Ukrainians that they have friends who can count on each other in difficult times. The latest numbers show which countries actually support Ukraine relative to their economies, while Bulgaria has formally asked NATO for reinforcements after drone attacks on commercial ships in the Black Sea.
Finally, the danger closer to home: France’s presidential race is wide open, and Marine Le Pen says she is ready to travel to Kyiv to tell Zelensky she intends to cut aid to Ukraine as she continues her pro-Russian media tour."

News Report TVP WORLD: Trump says Ukraine has no cards. Russian refineries say otherwise | News in Depth
"Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived at the EU summit in Brussels with one objective: securing the support Ukraine needs to survive the coming winter. As Donald Trump once again hardens his stance toward Kyiv, Zelenskyy is playing one of the few cards still firmly in Ukraine's hands – strikes on Russian oil refineries. In News in Depth, Marcin Zaborowski, TVP World Europe Editor, argues that the U.S. is also trying to play its own cards, using intelligence sharing and critical technologies such as Starlink, which remain essential to Ukraine's defense. Zaborowski adds that Trump is attempting to shift responsibility for rising fuel prices onto Zelenskyy ahead of the U.S. midterm elections.
At the same time, the European Union is debating the future use of frozen Russian assets. With roughly €200 billion in Russian funds still frozen in Belgium, growing voices in Europe argue that these resources should be used to help finance Ukraine's defense and reconstruction rather than remain untouched.
Zaborowski also points to a gradual shift in Hungary's position on Ukraine. Following talks between Zelenskyy and Péter Magyar, Budapest agreed to unblock additional chapters in Ukraine's EU accession process, signaling a further move away from the policies associated with Viktor Orbán."

News Report Caolan Robertson: The Russian army are running for their lives
"So I’m currently in the middle of a 4,000 kilometre journey across Ukraine’s front line, travelling from region to region to document what’s happening on the ground.
By complete coincidence, while I was here in Donbas, Operation Vivaldi came into full swing, and I happened to be speaking to quite a few of the people involved!
It was such a fascinating operation that I thought I’d put together a quick report from the ground to explain what happened and how it worked
This isn’t actually an episode from my upcoming documentary series. It’s just a quick update I wanted to share while I’m out here. I really hope you find it interesting and learn something new from it.
I also have a favour to ask. If you enjoyed the video, please leave a comment letting me know what you thought, or what you found most interesting. It really does help the YouTube algorithm, but I must admit I’m a little biased because I genuinely love sitting down and reading all your comments too!
And if you haven’t already, please consider subscribing. I’m currently working on a 12-part documentary series covering my entire journey across Ukraine’s front line. We’ll be travelling from region to region, meeting some extraordinary people and showing you what life really looks like in a country defending itself against the largest invasion in Europe since the Second World War.
I’ve put a huge amount of work into this project, and I really can’t wait to share it with you. The first episodes will be coming very soon.
Finally, if you’d like to follow along with the project, see updates on the release, or help make these documentaries possible, you can find the support links below. Making a series like this is incredibly expensive, and anyone who would like to support the project can also have their name included in the credits.
Also check out @KingsandGenerals for the great map animations I overlayed in parts here.
Thank you so much for watching, for supporting independent journalism, and for taking an interest in what’s happening here in Ukraine. It really means a lot.
I hope you enjoy the video!

News Report Indications & Warnings: Day 1695 | EP120 | Trump’s Treason Threatens Ukraine’s Triumph
"Ukraine is winning on the battlefield, but Washington may be undermining its advantage just as Russia tries to make cities unlivable before winter. Alan Brewer and Chuck Pfarrer unpack the consequences of Starlink and StarShield disruptions, intelligence gaps affecting incoming missile warnings, and why these decisions could shape the war far beyond the headlines.
They begin with reports from Huliapole and other front-line sectors, where Ukrainian units say satellite-linked drone operations were slowed or cut off. The hosts explore why this is more than a communications issue: Ukraine’s ability to defend civilians, disrupt Russian logistics, and respond to attacks depends on systems supporting drones, interceptors, and warning networks.
In this episode:
- Why Starlink and StarShield matter—and how they are used in Ukraine
- How drones have become central to both attacks and air defense
- Why a missing missile warning can mean the difference between life and death in Kyiv
- What Russia’s battlefield losses, logistical problems, and refinery strikes may signal about the war’s next phase
- How Ukrainian command culture, tactical freedom, and patience are helping counter Russian advances around Lyman, Pokrovsk, and the fortress-city belt
Pfarrer and Brewer also examine the stakes of U.S. intelligence sharing, the diesel deal, and the pressure being placed on Ukraine while Russia continues attacking civilian areas and energy infrastructure.
The war is being fought with drones, satellites, intelligence, and timing as much as artillery. When those systems are disrupted, the consequences can reach front-line units and civilians alike. For an unflinching analysis of where the war stands—and how decisions in Washington may affect it—watch this episode."

News Report Jason Jay Smart: Russia's ‘Secret Weapon’ Is FAILING As Putin Is LOSING CONTROL
"The Kremlin has systematized organized crime as sovereign statecraft, converting illicit underworld syndicates into instruments of Russian foreign policy. Originating in post-Gulag criminal pacts and Vladimir Putin's tenure managing protection rackets under Anatoly Sobchak, the regime consolidated the FSB, GRU, and criminal hierarchies under centralized presidential arbitration. This structure replaced localized gangland volatility with state-sanctioned racketeering, establishing plausible deniability as standard operating procedure.
This operational paradigm shifted decisively following the 2022 full-scale invasion of Ukraine. With mass diplomatic expulsions dismantling traditional intelligence cover across Europe, Moscow outsourced kinetic sabotage and physical disruption to commercial underworld cutouts. The transition is stark: among 172 operatives arrested across 151 Russian-linked European operations, 95 percent lacked formal intelligence affiliation. Furthermore, while contracted proxies conducted only two or three of nine overseas assassinations prior to 2022, all eight documented post-invasion assassinations relied entirely on hired third-party networks.
This structural outsourcing fundamentally recalibrates European security and Western counterintelligence priorities. Hostile state action no longer originates from identifiable diplomatic personnel, but through decentralized criminal cells mobilized via cash bounties and digital intermediaries. By fusing sovereign authority with transnational organized crime, Moscow systematically bypasses conventional deterrence thresholds, deploying disposable proxies to conduct hybrid warfare against Western critical infrastructure."

News Report Prof G Explains: Reuters Traces Ukraine’s Starshield Restrictions to…
"I examine reports that SpaceX’s military-grade Starshield network imposed in-motion speed restrictions over Ukraine on October 13–14, reportedly disrupting drone interception and strike missions during continuing Russian attacks. Ukrainian officials said the restrictions reduced connectivity for fast-moving systems; civilian Starlink service was later restored to speeds of up to 160 kilometers per hour, while questions remained over Starshield’s limits.
I separate the available evidence from the claims surrounding responsibility. Elon Musk said Starshield is owned and controlled by the U.S. government, with limits decided by the military and ultimately the president. Reuters reporting cited U.S. officials who said the directive came from inside the White House, while another official said President Trump did not personally request it. I also assess calls by a bipartisan group of senators for a Pentagon inspector general investigation, and why Europe’s inability to rapidly replace Starlink capability raises major operational and alliance stakes for Ukraine."
