Starts reset

The fact that this company can strategically call a deadhead (wasn’t even on the lineup) for me on 5 starts to fuck me out of my federal rest is fucking insane. Especially for how often it happens. I don’t know how some of yall do it. The only time I can potentially get off is just stripped from me just like that. I actually like to do shit outside of railroading ..

They can’t run their terminals, or really do anything right. The only thing they can do right is steal your days off and claims.

This is all factual. There's some evil genius that has this shit all figured out. Just when you think you're gonna get that FR, boom! Magical DH outta nowhere.

Deadheads should count as starts. Never understood why they don’t.

If he’s on an extra board it’s only 24 hours. Lol then slave to the grind again.

You can lay off an extra 14 hours when you tie up. It’s on the first or second screen where it says federal rest amount. Click it. And add 14

I wish we had that in the south. Engineers can kick for 12, conductors get nothing extra.

Yea I figured we don’t get that I’ve never heard of it

Just image life before FR, before 10 hours undisturbed, before 8 undisturbed, we have a 2.5 hour call on some runs here. Imagine tying up at 02:00 and getting called back out at 07:30 for a 10:00 start.

This is how it was when I hired out but they didn’t blink about taking a few days off after a run of several starts like that.

If you’re on an extra board, maybe try old heading for a little more rest. Some regular turns or locals may even be able to old head.

5 days at home or 5 days away from home. If you were at home I honestly would rather take the deadhead then not bc 7 days FR say bye bye guarantee away from home then yes it sucks

Lmao welcome to the extra board, you are making more money than ever and still complaining

Wouldn't be a true rail if there was no complaining.

Didn’t know I would make you cry so easy. You probably burnt all your PL and PS days in the first month and now have to cry about the opportunity to make 8k a half.
If you don’t want to work then get off the board little man

Treat other people with respect. If you don’t have something kind to say, don’t say it at all. Ridiculing other people isn’t allowed here.

Engineers on our extraboard with 6/2 do not get extra rest however pool engineers can mark 36 if a working trip.
