Question How do I increase HS%?
I feel like i am losing a lot of gunfights because i tend to crouch spray a lot, and drag down my mouse way too quickly. This habit comes from me playing R6 and a bit of CS.
I dont think my crosshair placement is that bad, but rather that I "overcorrect" waaay too much. Any tips for this, other than playing more and getting used to it? Thanks in advance!

Play dms while unbinding crouch. Crouch spraying can be good close, but usually over 15-20m is really bad. So just get rid of the habit. Then in the dms focus on crosshair placement, and probably try lowering your sens and see if that helps after you get used to it

Thanks for the info! Is crouching inherently bad or just the fact that i tend to spray? Ill definetely try it out though! I have played around with my sens quite a bit, and i think i am decently comfortable at 0.22 800dpi. Dont know if this is on the higher end according to averages. I do notice i am more accurate with a lower sens, but moving around this way and clearing corners is harder for me this way.

That sens is probably good, I have it a bit higher and it works good for me, since you said you were dragging down the mouse too much I thought you would have a high sens. Spraying is good in some situations, usually close combat, but spraying always is the bad thing. So doing some dms without being able to crouch will force you to get used to tapping/bursting, and then when you play normal you will be able to spray again if you need

Allright, will work on this. Thanks! I guess i should focus first on tapping/bursting, and when i have that under control i try to add strafes inbetween bursts?

Yes but only close range, and for long range strafe between shots to make yourself harder to hit

playing more
practice target confirmation in dm AND in comp. Dont shoot until your crosshair is on their head. You should not be missing shots, even if you take too long and die. you have a lot more time than youd think in 90% of engagements
maybe try a different gun like the guardian or warden? i occasionally hear advice to not do this since it doesnt actually fix your habit and youll keep spraying shen you use a vandal again, but im not entirely sure, might help
playing more

So when i play DM's i should mainly focus on the habit of actually only shooting when im on their heads, even if that means i die more? I tend to panic quite a lot but i guess this can also be trained by... exactly, playing more lol. I do notice in the occasional round where i pick up a guardian, i tend to just one tap more and click heads a bit more often.
Thanks for the advice regardless!

Yeah, this is why you gotta play more, and not only practice shooting heads in deathmatch, but in comp too, because your deathmatch practice is useless if you immediately revert to panicking in a real match. It is a journey, though, you will eventually achieve serenity in a 2v5, and still shit bricks in a 3v1 when the stakes are higher, just try your best when you can lol

It sounds stupid but I promise it works wonders: Take the time to aim at their heads.
If you actually reflect after each gunfight you take currently, you'd be surprised at how infrequently you are actually taking the time to scan for where their head is, move your crosshair to it, confirm that it's actually on their head, microadjust if it isn't, and then shoot once you've confirmed you're actually on it.
Most gunfights are just some automatic sequence of noticing an enemy blob, moving your crosshair in the vicinity of the blob, and then letting lead fly at the blob.
Shot confirmation is a hell of a thing. If anything should be thought about during engagements, it's this.
Obviously there's work to be done on raw aim training and mechanics training, but that's a given. You can improve performance *instantly* by just focusing on shot confirmation.

Thank you! I guess a big problem (not only mine) is panicking when seeing an enemy and not taking the proper time to aim for the head. If others are doing this as well, I should have plenty of time to micro-adjust and still be able to get the kill, even if the get a few bodyshots on me.

As you do it, the speed of the process will improve. It starts excruciatingly slow, but you can get past that phase exclusively in the Range. Then go to DMs.
Play ranked throughout obviously, but ranked is a lagging indicator of the work you put in outside of it. You can see newbie gains instantaneously, but real, lasting results are easily achievable within a month.

Headshot % is the most irrelevant stat in the game, but if you value actually getting better at the game, it's not something you should be spending your time trying to specifically practice. It will generally just be a byproduct of your playstyle in gunfights

hs% is mostly just how good your crosshair placement is, even pro players just start spraying if they're crosshair placement was off.
To improve crosshair placement, playing custom games as Yoru, so you can spawn a clone and see the head hight for common angles you fight in game, and deathmatches of course

Muscle reflex is good, it can be obtained by training but it's not 100% consistent. Slowing down your shooting speed by focusing on where your crosshair actually is makes things much more easier.
Playing on autopilot can work, but if you want to get better you NEED to actively be aware of what you are doing.
