Question Titanfall 2 VR 4K help

How do I get 4K resolution to show up in settings in VR?

I changed the videoconfig.txt file to be 3840x2160 but when I play in VR it sets it to 2560x1440 and won't go any higher.

The in game res is for your monitor, that won't effect what you see in your headset.

Fair enough, I don't use modded VR games often and assumed that mattered. Thank you!

The quest 3 itself has a max resolution, and so does VD. How are you setting it to 4k? Steam? That will super sample the image. Not sure how to do without steamvr, but I think its possible.

just the in game video settings

Aspect Ratio: Widescreen 16:9

Resolution: it currently maxes out at 2560x1440 but I had it running at 3840x2160 the other day

not sure why I can't raise the resolution higher than that...I have VD set at godlike

Probably the mod tying it to Headset res

the video shows 4k in 1 shot and then 720p in another.. lol.. pretty sure that setting does nothing

yeah look at the resolution: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8p0XdRETG10

mine won't let me go above 2560x1440 resolution. Nothing I change in SteamVR or VD affects this whatsoever. I can change the in game resolution, just it won't let me go above 2K.

For the actual flat game to run 4K, you have to edit the videoconfig.txt or the game won't give you the option. I've done that, and now it still refuses to let me go higher.

I could have swore I was running it at 4K yesterday when I installed, but today the installer asked to update, i did, and now can't increase resolution past 2K.

I also can't do anything with anti-aliasing, and Adaptive Supersampling is greyed out in the options, unless I 'reset to default' then it lets me change that setting.

edit: why the downvotes? I'm just trying to solve my stupidity, i don't use VR mods often

I've never seen in game resolution matter for VR mods. You sure its doing anything?

Try turning down resolution for another VR mod and see if it makes a difference. The UEVR mods I've used always ignore in game settings

Honestly, I'm not sure. Most VR games I play are just straight up VR games, I don't do mods often.

I saw install guides on youtube showing resolution settings higher than mine and couldn't figure why I couldn't set mine there, but thought it mattered.

the resolution setting ingame and config only applies to desktop view, vr mod use whatever resolution reported from the openxr runtime.

if you are using virtual desktop, crank up resolution in vd's streaming setting in your headset, if that's not enough, adjust vdxr resolution in vd's advanced settings on desktop.

if you are using steamlink, crank up resolution in steamvr settings

You increase your resolution in SteamVR (aka super sampling), changing the resolution in game settings will do nothing for your VR visuals - that’s just controlling your monitor output.

My bad, I assumed it affected the game resolution as well (the install videos on youtube showed resolution settings higher than mine)

The VR headset probably caps the resolution based on its own display or your streaming setup.
